I never took a course in it in college or anything but I do like roman history, but I always played with the thought about putting myself in the place of the masses who had no real say in all these political affairs that would be unfolding in some far off capital. Since I think that's 99.9% of people, and the other .1% of people we do know come to us through filtered lenses, I assume the "true" way to understand life is probably more akin to theirs than whatever we're supposed to think Caesar's view is.
