Not entirely sure. We used to get six federal holidays off, but starting this year, they increased it to 8, adding President's Day and Columbus Day off. PRobably because title companies are never open on those days and since I work in mortgage, there really isn't much point in working when title companies are not open. They also gave us 2 more floating holidays. I think it has a lot do not getting much for raises this year. They are trying to appease their employees by giving them more days off. I already get about 30 days off a year, in additon to what I just described.
