!agree
I just wasted almost a whole day "discussing" on Twitter politics and it tired me out so much I felt I needed to be around some sane people who know how to use critical thinking skills so I finally joined Tim's server lmao
idk
I just finished a James Allsup video and he once again made vague allusions to anti-semitism
the left pushes forward but if the right werent there to try and keep them back then theyd drive right off a cliff
but of course if the right didnt have the left society would never move forward
werent left and right devised because in like ancient rome or something they organized the senate like that?
blegh
yeah left-right isnt exactly productive in actual discussion
its fine for a general label when describing political divides
but in real life discussion and debate its pretty useless
i guess the pursuit of happiness falls under liberty?
I think it's because if the House and Senate are opposed, it's a lot more difficult to get anything done.
Both of them will consistently get in the way of each other.
I don't think the process would be nearly that simple, but basically yeah.
Also the Republicans in the Senate might try to pass legislation and then the House will stop them
Imagine it like a constant Mexican Standoff in the government
I don't know where to bring this, but I was in a godawful Twitter "debate" yesterday with someone who insisted the majority of Americans are for stricter gun control, and then proved it by citing a poll
where they got responses from 1,000 people.
I did the math myself and that came out to approximately .0003% of the U.S. population.
I tried to tell them that's a horrible sample size if you want to represent the views of the entire nation, but then they spent several tweets after that insisting I just don't understand how representative sampling works and I was engaging in the personal incredulity fallacy.
But I feel like I wasn't too far off. I mean, come on.
I felt like it fit in here because I feel like they were using statistics in the same way fake news would.
No, it was another poll, like a random call poll done by Gallup
So there wasn't likely a bias to the organization or results but still
Nah
It still isn't a very good sample size I think
To be fair to the poller it was done across all 50 states
*but* it was also done only right after widely reported on shootings
It specifically says the poll was done just a few weeks after the Florida shooting
Let me find it brb
That 28th amendment thing doesn't seem like a bad idea
Also that nbc article is awful, he literally made a joke that requires you don't agree with Nazis to find funny
"I don't want you to think I'm picking on you because we're part of the master race"
Like when they blamed Trump for the hurricane stuff
The bipartisan system is kind of slowly eating away at America lately lmao
**N O**
@Rabbi Shekels what app is that lol
Probably a cluster for warmth or something
But also very not good
deplatforming does nothing but increase interest in the person youre trying to silence
I personally think it is worth looking into the effects of being raised by same sex parents since that's certainly a unique situation for a child to be in and it could or could not be bad for them to not have equal influences of sexes.
However, there is ***no*** solid evidence supporting either side of that argument, so until such rock solid evidence appears I see no issue in same sex parenting.
In my opinion, if having your biological sex recognized on legal documents is simply too much for you to handle, then you need to go to therapy.
Gender dysphoria cannot be relieve simply by denying objective reality, you have to accept what reality is and recognize it does not control your existence to really be at peace.
So if seeing your sex on a passport "triggers" you, that's not an issue with the US government, that's an issue with your inability to cope.
Assuming all the theories of climate change were correct we should have watched The Day After Tomorrow last week
That is a good point, I've never known the legal recognition of gender to serve any real purpose... But I could be wrong on that.
If it doesn't really serve any use, then I'd be for eliminating that factor from the legal system altogether.
Aren't men denied the right to vote and such until they sign up for the draft
If you refuse to sign up for the draft can you get any of those things
So you have to sign up for the draft to get those things, essentially.
If you want to not be included in the draft, you cannot have those things.
Oof
I love how she has her PayPal written on the white board too
Clearly from woke twitter

I have to wonder what they're all looking at
I have personal beliefs that prevent me from totally agreeing with transgenderism but I generally respect pronouns and I do agree that transphobes are assholes.
But I also agree that bills forcing people to recognize pronouns are pretty shit.
I'm generally for doing more research into the psychology of gender dysphoria so that maybe someday we could find some sort of psychotherapy that can help? Or some sort of psychological medication?
For now I recognize there isn't much else that can be done so I do my best to respect transitioned individuals
It's kind of an ethical question.
Do you risk making people feel uncomfortable to make other people feel comfortable?
When it comes to the transgender debate, I think there is one thing we can all agree one.
Tucutes are absolute shitheads.
The people who believe you can be transgender without having dysphoria.
And then they get surgery and fuck themselves up and get real dysphoria.
@DrYuriMom absolutely.
You should be evaluated thoroughly to make sure you aren't otherwise mentally ill or dealing with some sort of severe trauma before being allowed on that stuff.
