I would debate that, but I respect your position.
debate what? or which part i should say?
The dismissal of tradition as a justification by itself. The practice of a tradition over time and the values that society instills within it can become a justification for its continuation on its own merits. That's not to say a sufficient reason to get rid of it can't exist, but it does mean that the reason should be a bit heftier than "It's Current Year".
where did i say it is good just to throw out tradition because its tradition? pretty sure i said thats the problem the left has.
i said don't just accept it as good or right just because it is tradition
slavery was a tradition
That is a good point, I've never known the legal recognition of gender to serve any real purpose... But I could be wrong on that.
If it doesn't really serve any use, then I'd be for eliminating that factor from the legal system altogether.
The (historic) reason is conscription/draft
you got documentation for that? i mean, seems valid and i'd believe it
but if that is the case, then the easy solution is to replace it with something like draft eligible or something.
Yep.
It was what I was told in my country.
I assume that would be the same reason for the US. Since the standing military doctrine requires forced drafting if full mobilization is required, as per current plans
The draft is BS anyways
It is but I doubt you can make it go away.
At least removing sex with draftee or something means you can bribe people to get out of it. Easier than going to Canada.
@DrYuriMom looks like we might have found a middle ground then.
I identify as a non draftable gender
You and basically everyone
Aren't men denied the right to vote and such until they sign up for the draft
I read that on some right wing Tumblr meme
I was too βsmartβ for my own good, so I was placed in the Royal Signal regiment.
@Pendell it would be more accurate to say you sign up for the draft when you register to vote.
And what if you just
Don't.
I think you default in when you turn 18 and get a license.
If you refuse to sign up for the draft can you get any of those things
Basically if you register anything with the government after 18, you are added to the draft.
So you have to sign up for the draft to get those things, essentially.
If you want to not be included in the draft, you cannot have those things.
by law i think any male US citizen is signed up to the draft once they hit 18
i don't really recall any way to really avoid it
except by avoiding the government all together so its harder for them to find you

Not cool
Its important to know sex for DNA testing in crimes. If cops find male DNA at crime scene, but license says female someone might get dismissed incorrectly.
a rare scenario for sure, but still.
@grant exact opposite problem still happens if witnesses say they saw someone who looked female but only evidence they found says male.
Sure, but lets just add to that problem.
It doesn't add to the problem
If you look at my proposed solution, it should prevent that lazy police work
