They aren't making the choice, the parents are, and that's even worse

I personally happen to know several trans people who, from what I can tell, and what I know about how awful their life sitations have been, most likely aren't really trans.
I'm all for restricting how easy it is to gain access to transitional methods because there are a **whole lot** of cases of people who don't genuinely suffer from gender dysphoria using transgender ideology to escape unrelated life trauma, and that can ultimately be more damaging than legit gender dysphoria.

one of my friends is autistic and was sexually abused as a child and is "trans" now.
I respect them and everything, but I worry for them.

No doctor or therapist they've spoken to sees the possibility of him using the ideology as a coping mechanism and it's very likely he will go on hormones someday.

I have a lot of worry. He's already very unstable (he's attempted suicide 3 times iirc) and this could just make everything worse for him

i also know a youtuber who reviews films who suddenly came out as trans and then immediately went off th deep end and its clear they use the ideology as a comfort to cope with trauma

that youtuber proceeded to attack and defame all their previous collaboraters, making shit up to slander them and claim victimhood to get even more attention

they also tweet a lot about how awful cis people are

and when they lose hundreds of subs with each upload they just double down and whine to their pandering twitter followers about how transphobic the world is

i have been watching this youtuber crumble in real time

in a year they went from putting out some of their best content they ever have to only putting out hot takes on films if they can somehow inject a trans metaphor into it and ranting on twitter all day

oh shit they saw that movie "Assassination Nation" with the trans character and posted a video about how they were really frighteningly obsessed with that character and talked about how when the character's fate was left ambiguous at the end they felt as if they had legitimately lost a real life loved one
