Cool water for about 7 minutes.
Put really loose wrapping around it.
There is some medication you can take for them, but you can just put some aloe vera on it.

you cut a hole the size of the blister in the moleskin and place it on preventing any more friction while allowing the blister to breath and heal

don't worry about it but blisters on the back of your heel can get infected easily
Once blister open the pocket is a site for infection. Usually want to debride extra skin, keep wound dry and clean
No reason to use alcohol over less painful peroxide

Anyone here know anything about improvised antibiotics? Wanting some for my bug out/medical kit. I guess I could throw In some used ones the next time I get a script but I've heard fish tank antibotixs are similar to cypro and safe for human consumption
@Deleted User yes actually fish antibiotics are the same as the ones they give to mammals. Just make sure you take a high enough dose for long enough. An infection coming back is bad news bears.

CPR is very basic just YouTube red cross CPR if you dont break a rib your doing it wrong

Idk if I'd post the rib breaking stuff lol. That's how you get people pushing to the spine. 2 inches, you might crack a rib or 2, just be weary of that. Depth is 1/3 for kiddos.

Ive done CPR many time on real patients you will almost always break a rib
Breaking a rib is minor compared to dying of an infarction
So have I, work on an ambulance full time, hospital part. I've seen plenty of newbys to CPR try purposely to break ribs because someone told them they have to.

Or, we could teach them the depth without saying "if you don't break ribs, you're not doing it right". It leads to pigeon religion like when people put a spoon in a seizing persons mouth.
Literally everytime I see a code, someone is doing CPR atrociously wrong. That's the reason I brought it up. It is the most basic thing, and it's usually done wrong.
ABC for a regular code, CAB for trauma.
Honestly though, if you are a bystander doing CPR, just open the airway with a head tilt (if no signs of spinal trauma), make sure someone calls 911, and do the chest compressions. If you get an assistant, you can worry about the rescue breaths, but building up blood pressure, and keeping it circulating is more important.
@everyone Did anyone talk to the guys we used home remedies for pepper spray on? Did anything seem to work more than just water and air?
Data shows most important things to surviving arrest is quality compressions and how quickly someone can be cardioverted
If someone goes down, start compressions and get AED asap.
My only concern with the milk is if we are out in the heat, not sure someone would like stinky hot milk on their face.
1:3 baby soap to water in a spray bottle. Scrub scrub scrub. Then 1:1 maalox to water in a spray bottle. Make sure to get both the soap mixture and maalox in the patient's eyes. Rise with water good. Repeat the process. Don't use milk. That's gross
^ this is a Richard Spencer approved method, btw. Got to test it on him a couple times
@ErikaI saw you using it, i was using just normal saline for an eye flush which didn't seem to help much.
OC spray is oil based. Milk. Water. Saline. Etc. won't do anything to strip away the oil. Stripping away the oil is something that needs to happen before you can neutralize the capsaicin.
Baked A. Freaked when I gave him my baby shampoo and water solution.
Richard. McLaren. Freiberg. Ajax. And several others all said my method for neutralizing OC spray worked wonders. Richard also shouted out my efforts on the latest Shoah. I'm now known as the "guardian angel" lol

He received something at ultra high pressure. It's possible it was bear mace, or it could have been draino
I talked to Baked. It was apparently something called class 4 bear mace. Nasty stuff.

Especially considering bear mace often times has a shot distance of 30 feet

No just bleeding and stiches needed and rhe oven cleaner was highly toxic i had nothing and we were under fire from both cops and antifa it was a mad house

Is the person that got sprayed with the oven cleaner good? Seems like the best thing would be just flush with water, or vinegar (since oven cleaner is basic).

Quickly? Depends how bad
Freeze water bottle and roll on bottom of foot
Get.some nsaids to take with food
Get brace over the counter to sleep in to keep foot dorsiflexed
And stretch w a towel looped around bottom of feet
Of the affected.foot rather
Heel inserts help a bunch as well

non steroid anti inflamatory drugs. Tylenol.
I had Plant Fasciatis. One method is to find a cool stream or lake with a smushy gravel bottom, and wade around in it.
Do a full butt-stretch. Then a hamstring stretch. Then calf stetch---In that order. Jumping ahead to the calf stretch is not advisable, because the tendons in your toes connect all the way up the back of your body, and you need to stretch the big muscles first.
Another method to deal with plantar fasciatis is to get some heavy wool socks. Coat them with duct tape, to make an improvised moccasin. Then walk around on pea gravel. Like with the stream-bed technique, what your are doing is breaking up the scar tissue on your foot tendons. You should also ice the feet, elevate them, and take ibuprofen. Before doing more of the pea-gravel walking.
With my case, I saw a foot doctor (podiatrist). He taught me how to tape my feet, and ordered VERY expensive shoe inserts. The 500 dollar inserts are just barely better (for my case) than are Spenco Total Support insoles. https://www.amazon.com/Spenco-Total-Support-Insoles-Womens/dp/B008CJNTI6?th=1
Should I lessen my running. It doesn't seem that bad. I think I just moved away from heel striking too quickly.
Tylenol is not an nsaid
Per wiki, aspirin, ibuprofen and naproxen, are all NSAIDs. But Acetaminophen is generally not considered an NSAID because it has only little anti-inflammatory activity. So that's why I was wrong to reflexivly say Tylenol. But I have found you do not want or any other form of tendonitis to set in, because once it does it becomes a chronic condition that is three times as hard to be rid of. After sometimes keeping me awake at night, mine took years to finally clear up. Early medical intervention is the best approach.

If you keep running on it, it will get worse
You can get severe chronic pain from this if you keep pushing through
Unless you're training for something career critical take a break, do some swimming or something
If you're not doing significantly better after a week or so can consider some oral steroids for stronger anti inflammatory effect

Yes, I pointed that out on myself already. But the stretching and walking in pea gravel are remedies I know can work.
I also recommended early genuine medical intervention. The pain from it can wake you up at night. It took years for all my tendonitis-type symptoms to diminsh. If you ever get what feels like a sore muscle that never goes away, get to a doctor. Use Ibuprofen, stretching, massage, and Ice. And steriods.
I took some ibuprofen and iced my foot. It only started to hurt after standing up at work all day and when I first woke up on the back of my heels for a minute
Ah, if that mild should be easy fix. Try frozen water bottle trick to massage and ice at same time

Tendons take twice as long to heal as muscles. You'd be wise to wait 4 weeks to go running. That's why you have a bicycle and a place to swim, right?
Another trick is ro roll a ball on the floor under your foot when sitting down. A tennis ball works well.
This type of thing can turn chronic if not careful. Baby it a bit for a month, do lower impact things like Chuck saying, then start back gently.
I feel like all I've done are low impact things. I'm lucky enough my grandparents have a pool but I find it disappointing that the moment start making plans to run this happens
Work on your upper body with weights. Maybe lower body 10 days. If this turns permanent (like almost happened to me) it will cause you years of misery and sleepless nights.
I've got RLS so sleepless nights are the norm. How long should I take to work my way down to using minimalist shoes so this doesn't happen again?
some would say that shoes are the problem, and that barefooting is best. Some claim FiveFingers shoes are bad, some say they are good. For now, I'd recommend getting those Spenco Inserts inside normal shoes, and getting lots of massage, stretching, IBU, ice, and rest. Then try the duct-tape sock mocassins on pea gravel. This can take months or years to heal. Buy a better bicycle.
What is pea gravel? I'm not really looking at months to fix this am I? Like one day of walking around Cville couldn't have ruined my tendon?
Pea gravel is rounded small gravel. It is found in some driveways. It is not the crushed gravel you usually see, and it moves around and never really forms a solid surface.
I injured my shoulder once in a rodeo. I did not listen to my doctor, and took off the brace and started catching baseballs before I should have. By not following my doctor's orders, the injury went on a long time. Go see a doctor, and I think he'd agree that a month off is what you need.

Good question. I like hiking, and never had the same problems from that as running. "Earthing" with moccasins gets your foot bones and muscles a little work-out.

@StrawberryArmada Night splints worked wonders for my plantar fasciitis. I only had to wear them a few nights and it was gone, after weeks of pain.

@Helbrecht - WA The side of my foot has noticeably grown, though I can still put shoes on.
Benadryl would be best. It'll slow down and stop anything that could be going on. And if you know where exactly the bee sting is a baking soda and water paste on it will draw out the bees venom which will help a lot too
As long as your whole foot isn't swelling up and you're not having other symptoms it's nothing to be too worried about 😃

@everyone who will be going to an event any time soon? I'm going to be making small kits for the medics in the crowd, and an ambulance bag for the triage point/medic truck. For the higher ups, I think this would be the best way to coordinate the medic teams. C-ville was kind of a cluster-f for us, and I think we should focus on getting structured. This includes comms, universal kit setups, a point that all elements (security, etc.) Know where to take someone for medical care.
Great idea, Joe. I know we'd be interested in those kits.
We're working on some better concoctions to deal with injuries from bear mace, acid, and bleach.
Our own ambulance service would be a good idea too, with a truck/van waiting to medevac someone to the nearest hospital.
Would save our guys a good bit of cash too

I'm trying to find a cheap small bag guys can buy without sweating it. Any ideas on what we need in them? So far:
2x large gauze
1x bottle of saline
1x bottle of pepper spray remedy
5x 4x4 gauze
1x medical sheers
2x Cold packs
Anything else you guys can think of for first responders in the crowd?
I can tell you one thing, with the amount of pepper spray I had to treat at Cville, a lot of gauze is needed. I was using so much and I didn't even treat any bloody wounds.
ab pads or 5x9s work well for wiping off the solution and having a soaked pad to leave the patient
4x4s and cut strips of 4" gauze rolls also worked well for me

my calcaneus is broken all the way through, that much is really obvious from the x-rays. and since my ER visit, it's spreading further apart due to achilles tendon pulling on it. so now there's a sharp edge from the fracture poking up into the ankle joint, which will cause traumatic arthritis if I don't get surgery, he said
I cracked my hip when I was 18 and didn't get the recommended surgery wish I did thing still hurts sometimes

I guess my concern outright is that since it's worker's comp, I've been told sometimes doctors dealing with worker's comp cases basically just do what the worker's comp ins people tell them to do b/c it's such a pain in the ass for them to fight for what SHOULD be done

It would be very valuable in a situation where antibiotics were difficult to obtain
I would think that if antibiotics were difficult to obtain, x-rays would be even moreso.
No all u need is a battery
A small solar panel could obtain charge for a dozen or more treatments a day and a battery could hold hundreds
Small x Ray generators exist about the size of a large smartphone
You only need 50kV or less for surface treatments
