Believing in the religion indicates you have abandoned any kind of rational pursuit of truth. You fundamentally do not justify your belief anymore in order to feel happier, free your mind and/or be a part of a community.
Therefore, it is inconceivable to hold sound positions being religious as part of your fundamental premises are built on your irrational belief.
Example:
Religious people may be against abortion for the sole reason it is morally wrong in their religion.
Religious people may feel inequalities/wealth gap are justified as they believe in free will given from god, thus ignoring any socio-economic factors.
Therefore ***stop believing in religion***

Then at least accept your belief is irrational and justified by emotions.

And do not use your religious beliefs as premises for other positions.

Please explain me how you can logically justify religion @Ishkode

@Techpriest What are your philosophical axioms based on?

2019-05-01 21:40:12 UTC [NEWS and POLITICS #race-issues]

Is there an IQ difference between races?

2019-05-01 22:39:18 UTC [NEWS and POLITICS #race-issues]

Why do you think so

2019-05-01 22:40:07 UTC [NEWS and POLITICS #race-issues]

What evidence points to intelligence being influenced by environmental factors?

2019-05-01 22:42:07 UTC [NEWS and POLITICS #race-issues]

I'm not a white supremacist by the way

2019-05-01 23:36:30 UTC [NEWS and POLITICS #race-issues]

@Gerry But there is a huge difference if it's because of their genes or the environment

2019-05-01 23:36:53 UTC [NEWS and POLITICS #race-issues]

If it's in their genes it means it's inherent to them and it won't change

2019-05-01 23:37:26 UTC [NEWS and POLITICS #race-issues]

That's why the issue is controversial and emotional

2019-05-02 00:46:58 UTC [NEWS and POLITICS #race-issues]

@Deleted User I totally agree with your claim and I would be surprised with any scientific data contradicting it

2019-05-02 00:47:02 UTC [NEWS and POLITICS #race-issues]

Now

2019-05-02 00:47:19 UTC [NEWS and POLITICS #race-issues]

Does that means intelligence cannot be genetic?

2019-05-02 00:47:54 UTC [NEWS and POLITICS #race-issues]

So we accept there is a genetic factor and a environmental one

2019-05-02 00:48:10 UTC [NEWS and POLITICS #race-issues]

Could you link me to studies

2019-05-02 00:48:29 UTC [NEWS and POLITICS #race-issues]

That's pretty much the whole discussion, how much percent is genetic

2019-05-02 00:49:16 UTC [NEWS and POLITICS #race-issues]

And if it is 60-80%, that would mean some ethnicity are genetically less intelligent on average

2019-05-02 00:51:11 UTC [NEWS and POLITICS #race-issues]

Indeed

2019-05-02 00:51:25 UTC [NEWS and POLITICS #race-issues]

It looks like theyre trying to identify genes responsible for intelligence

2019-05-02 00:52:34 UTC [NEWS and POLITICS #race-issues]

Well if it's 70% genetic then the current difference in IQ couldn't be explained with environment

2019-05-02 00:52:45 UTC [NEWS and POLITICS #race-issues]

It would be largely genetic too

2019-05-02 00:54:53 UTC [NEWS and POLITICS #race-issues]

No but some skin color are correlated with a smarter brain

2019-05-02 00:54:56 UTC [NEWS and POLITICS #race-issues]

that would be the claim

2019-05-02 00:55:30 UTC [NEWS and POLITICS #race-issues]

What's the relevance?

2019-05-02 00:55:36 UTC [NEWS and POLITICS #race-issues]

It's a correlation

2019-05-02 00:55:40 UTC [NEWS and POLITICS #race-issues]

not a causation

2019-05-02 00:55:46 UTC [NEWS and POLITICS #race-issues]

If that's even true

2019-05-02 00:55:57 UTC [NEWS and POLITICS #race-issues]

Well that's easy

2019-05-02 00:56:09 UTC [NEWS and POLITICS #race-issues]

Why do we have affirmative action then

2019-05-02 00:56:25 UTC [NEWS and POLITICS #race-issues]

We allow certain races to be prioritized in the education system

2019-05-02 00:56:36 UTC [NEWS and POLITICS #race-issues]

But if intelligence was based on genetics

2019-05-02 00:56:48 UTC [NEWS and POLITICS #race-issues]

that would prove it's not caused by their disadvange

2019-05-02 00:56:59 UTC [NEWS and POLITICS #race-issues]

but by their genes

2019-05-02 00:57:04 UTC [NEWS and POLITICS #race-issues]

Yes

2019-05-02 00:57:10 UTC [NEWS and POLITICS #race-issues]

but a high genetic percentage

2019-05-02 00:57:17 UTC [NEWS and POLITICS #race-issues]

such as 60-80% which was claimed earlier

2019-05-02 00:57:43 UTC [NEWS and POLITICS #race-issues]

It's a claim from Fetty

2019-05-02 00:58:00 UTC [NEWS and POLITICS #race-issues]

I'm just saying what it would mean IF it was true

2019-05-02 00:58:25 UTC [NEWS and POLITICS #race-issues]

It would mean policies such as affirmative action are irrelevant

2019-05-02 00:59:58 UTC [NEWS and POLITICS #race-issues]

From what I've understood @Yiddlemethisgoyim

2019-05-02 01:00:12 UTC [NEWS and POLITICS #race-issues]

Studies take twins which are very genetically similar

2019-05-02 01:00:30 UTC [NEWS and POLITICS #race-issues]

They follow they growth through different environments

2019-05-02 01:00:48 UTC [NEWS and POLITICS #race-issues]

And it seems from some studies that the environment did not have such an influence

2019-05-02 01:01:20 UTC [NEWS and POLITICS #race-issues]

And they also followed adopted black kid raised in good environment but the IQ also seemed not to be that influenced

2019-05-02 01:01:32 UTC [NEWS and POLITICS #race-issues]

They might be bullshit the studies

2019-05-02 01:01:35 UTC [NEWS and POLITICS #race-issues]

I dont know

2019-05-02 01:02:36 UTC [NEWS and POLITICS #race-issues]

well

2019-05-02 01:02:49 UTC [NEWS and POLITICS #race-issues]

IQ is correlated with race

2019-05-02 01:02:56 UTC [NEWS and POLITICS #race-issues]

IQ is genetically based

2019-05-02 01:03:08 UTC [NEWS and POLITICS #race-issues]

Therefore some races are genetically inferior

2019-05-02 01:03:28 UTC [NEWS and POLITICS #race-issues]

Once you accept IQ is genetics, the leap is straightforward

2019-05-02 01:05:05 UTC [NEWS and POLITICS #race-issues]

?

2019-05-02 01:05:12 UTC [NEWS and POLITICS #race-issues]

and yes iq is correlated with racew

2019-05-02 01:05:18 UTC [NEWS and POLITICS #race-issues]

but I think it's environmental

2019-05-02 01:05:33 UTC [NEWS and POLITICS #race-issues]

It is though

2019-05-02 01:06:05 UTC [NEWS and POLITICS #race-issues]

Then why are policies such as affirmative action based on race

2019-05-02 01:06:18 UTC [NEWS and POLITICS #race-issues]

It is when we want to advantage black people?

2019-05-02 01:06:30 UTC [NEWS and POLITICS #race-issues]

Everyone accepts race

2019-05-02 01:06:44 UTC [NEWS and POLITICS #race-issues]

And it seems some race have higher IQ

2019-05-02 01:07:02 UTC [NEWS and POLITICS #race-issues]

Well most people accept the concept of race

2019-05-02 01:07:29 UTC [NEWS and POLITICS #race-issues]

Why is it used in affirmative action?

2019-05-02 01:08:40 UTC [NEWS and POLITICS #race-issues]

Ok

2019-05-02 01:08:49 UTC [NEWS and POLITICS #race-issues]

We also know that generally, black people have lower IQ

2019-05-02 01:09:04 UTC [NEWS and POLITICS #race-issues]

Yes true

2019-05-02 01:09:22 UTC [NEWS and POLITICS #race-issues]

You can't use race sometimes and deny it when you don't like it

2019-05-02 01:09:31 UTC [NEWS and POLITICS #race-issues]

How is that relevant?

2019-05-02 01:10:35 UTC [NEWS and POLITICS #race-issues]

Yews

2019-05-02 01:10:46 UTC [NEWS and POLITICS #race-issues]

Im just claiming

2019-05-02 01:10:53 UTC [NEWS and POLITICS #race-issues]

Sure

2019-05-02 01:10:57 UTC [NEWS and POLITICS #race-issues]

I can accept that

2019-05-02 01:11:39 UTC [NEWS and POLITICS #race-issues]

But then once again you know I'll come back to my earlier argument

2019-05-02 01:11:48 UTC [NEWS and POLITICS #race-issues]

you use race when you need it

2019-05-02 01:11:57 UTC [NEWS and POLITICS #race-issues]

but deny it when you don't like the facts

2019-05-02 01:12:44 UTC [NEWS and POLITICS #race-issues]

You give an advantage to black people in America because statistically they are not treating fairly

2019-05-02 01:12:52 UTC [NEWS and POLITICS #race-issues]

But we find that this same group of people

2019-05-02 01:12:56 UTC [NEWS and POLITICS #race-issues]

Has a lower IQ in general

2019-05-02 01:13:02 UTC [NEWS and POLITICS #race-issues]

Now we can't use race

2019-05-02 01:13:07 UTC [NEWS and POLITICS #race-issues]

It's too "broad"

2019-05-02 01:13:11 UTC [NEWS and POLITICS #race-issues]

Why?

2019-05-02 01:13:29 UTC [NEWS and POLITICS #race-issues]

Then you can't use affirmative action

2019-05-02 01:13:31 UTC [NEWS and POLITICS #race-issues]

Do you agree

2019-05-02 01:13:57 UTC [NEWS and POLITICS #race-issues]

So

2019-05-02 01:14:02 UTC [NEWS and POLITICS #race-issues]

Do you agree with affirmative action?

2019-05-02 01:14:33 UTC [NEWS and POLITICS #race-issues]

and if those two following premises were true:

2019-05-02 01:14:41 UTC [NEWS and POLITICS #race-issues]

IQ is based 100% on genetics

2019-05-02 01:14:49 UTC [NEWS and POLITICS #race-issues]

There is a IQ difference between race

2019-05-02 01:14:57 UTC [NEWS and POLITICS #race-issues]

Im saying if it were true

2019-05-02 01:15:16 UTC [NEWS and POLITICS #race-issues]

Let's say you accept the premises

2019-05-02 01:15:34 UTC [NEWS and POLITICS #race-issues]

Im just trying to isolate the part where we disagree

2019-05-02 01:15:42 UTC [NEWS and POLITICS #race-issues]

that's why im making an hypothetical

2019-05-02 01:15:49 UTC [NEWS and POLITICS #race-issues]

Let's just say they were true

2019-05-02 01:15:58 UTC [NEWS and POLITICS #race-issues]

Would you still agree with Affirmative action

2019-05-02 01:16:15 UTC [NEWS and POLITICS #race-issues]

Why

2019-05-02 01:16:36 UTC [NEWS and POLITICS #race-issues]

Assuming the premises are true

2019-05-02 01:16:56 UTC [NEWS and POLITICS #race-issues]

But you are stopping people with more potential achieve better

2019-05-02 01:17:15 UTC [NEWS and POLITICS #race-issues]

Then you're not advocating for affirmative action
