"**Endocrine disruptors** are chemicals that can interfere with endocrine (or hormonal) systems. These disruptions can cause cancerous tumors, birth defects, and other developmental disorders. Found in many household and industrial products, endocrine disruptors "interfere with the synthesis, secretion, transport, binding, action, or elimination of natural hormones in the body that are responsible for development, behavior, fertility, and maintenance of homeostasis (normal cell metabolism)."

Any system in the body controlled by hormones can be derailed by hormone disruptors. Specifically, endocrine disruptors may be associated with the development of learning disabilities, severe attention deficit disorder, cognitive and brain development problems; deformations of the body (including limbs); breast cancer, prostate cancer, thyroid and other cancers; sexual development problems such as feminizing of males or masculinizing effects on females, etc."

Awful right? Here's a list of some known endocrine disruptors to avoid.

Bisphenol A (BPA) โ€” used to make polycarbonate plastics and epoxy resins, which are found in many plastic products including food storage containers
Dioxins โ€” produced as a byproduct in herbicide production and paper bleaching, they are also released into the environment during waste burning and wildfires
Perchlorate โ€” a by-product of aerospace, weapon, and pharmaceutical industries found in drinking water and fireworks
Perfluoroalkyl and Polyfluoroalkyl Substances (PFAS) โ€” used widely in industrial applications, such as firefighting foams and non-stick pan, paper, and textile coatings
Phthalates โ€” used to make plastics more flexible, they are also found in some food packaging, cosmetics, childrenโ€™s toys, and medical devices
Phytoestrogens โ€” naturally occurring substances in plants that have hormone-like activity, such as genistein and daidzein that are in soy products, like tofu or soy milk
Polybrominated diphenyl ethers (PBDE) โ€” used to make flame retardants for household products such as furniture foam and carpets
Polychlorinated biphenyls (PCB) โ€” used to make electrical equipment like transformers, and in hydraulic fluids, heat transfer fluids, lubricants, and plasticizers
Triclosan โ€” may be found in some anti-microbial and personal care products, like liquid body wash

There are also many endocrine disruptors and carcinogens in food and drink and medicine. I have faith that <#704438131750994031> can produce a meal plan free from this kind of thing.

Did you know that even in your deodorant there are endocrine disruptors? Aluminum trichlorohydrex is no bueno. Messes with your hormones, makes you want to braid your hair and listen to Cyndi Lauper. There are plenty of malicious chemicals in toothpaste as well. Titanium dioxide affects your gut bacteria and fluoride calcifies your pineal gland. I personally would never trust a billion dollar corporation with my health or the health of my children. Toothpaste and deodorant can be made from natural ingredients in your own kitchen.

2020-04-29 07:33:24 UTC

Homemade toothpaste recipe:
2 tbsp baking soda
2 tbsp coconut oil or water
a bit of salt or essential oil if you wish

Homemade deodorant recipe:
2 TBSP shea butter
3 TBSP coconut oil
3 TBSP baking soda
2 TBSP arrowroot powder (or organic cornstarch, optional)
essential oils (optional)

Instructions:
Place the shea butter and coconut oil in a quart size mason jar.
Place the mason jar in a small saucepan of water and heat over low heat until the shea butter and coconut oil have just melted.
Remove from heat and add the baking soda and arrowroot if using.
Mix well.
Add the essential oils if using, and pour into a glass container for storage. It does not need to be stored in the fridge.
If you prefer, you can let it cool and pour it into an old deodorant stick for easier use, though it may melt in the summer.
It may take several hours to completely harden. This process can be sped up by putting in the fridge for a few minutes.

Down 25 pounds in two months, god damn the keto diet rocks

2020-04-29 09:52:26 UTC

@Krusk thatโ€™s awesome man! Congrats! Keep it going and get to where ever you want to be!

2020-04-29 09:54:07 UTC

Thanks

2020-04-29 11:20:45 UTC

Make sure to eat some carbs still since the brain runs best off that

2020-04-29 15:27:30 UTC

Think Iโ€™ve dropped 15 pounds in 2 months from intermittent fasting and giving up sugar, still working on getting back in decent shape. Any of yall have tips on giving up dipping? I quit smoking cold turkey but canโ€™t seem to drop chewing

2020-04-29 15:53:39 UTC

@Dcampbell It would be mind over matter more than anything man. But two thinks I've heard that can help are, those little jerky dip cans, that way you can pack your lip and feel like something is there. And chewing gum, chewing a lot of gum to distract yourself. I quit all that shit cold turkey after Korea, I'm sure you can too.

2020-04-29 15:56:51 UTC

*embrace the suck*

2020-04-29 16:02:33 UTC

Glad to see endocrine disruptors brought up...if yall are using non-stick pans I highly recomend you switch to cast Iron. No PFAS and it will help supplament your bodies iron intake.

2020-04-29 17:23:56 UTC

@Sparrow Iโ€™ll give it a shot. Just tough to break that habit thanks for the advice

2020-04-29 17:25:28 UTC

Absolutely, I hope it helps. Cause when shit goes down, you might not have access to a steady supply. Best to get off that shit now.

2020-04-29 17:38:14 UTC

For quitting nicotine support groups have been shown to be the most effective measure find someone else that wants to quit and help each other. For weight loss support groups are usually counter productive unfortunately.

2020-04-29 17:57:30 UTC

For me, it was porn. A few years ago I was a total coomer and it ruined my relationships, my self esteem, and my brain chemistry. If anyone is trying to break the habit, message me. I've been clean and sober since April 22, 2019 through a support group and 12 step program and I'm still just taking it one day at a time. Stay strong kings

@Sky Pentraico something something size of the boat something something

2020-04-29 18:03:57 UTC

I mean no disrespect, lol I just found that amusing

2020-04-29 18:05:09 UTC

I understand, everyone I've known who can get sober has been able to laugh at their addiction ๐Ÿ˜‚

2020-04-29 18:06:58 UTC

I probably need to get off the nicotine

2020-04-29 18:12:33 UTC

Set up a group man. Be the change.

2020-04-29 20:36:22 UTC

> I understand, everyone I've known who can get sober has been able to laugh at their addiction ๐Ÿ˜‚
@magpie_(3inch) Cocaine is a hell of drug man lol

2020-04-29 20:43:49 UTC

Iโ€™m mean Iโ€™m literally fulled by nicotine, caffeine, and self hatred

2020-04-29 21:48:18 UTC
2020-04-29 22:54:51 UTC

Granted itโ€™s not working for me loosing some weight

2020-04-29 23:29:32 UTC

Intermittent Fasting. Less sluggish after a few days of it. Also quit drinking Bangs. Youโ€™ll get rabdo and need dialysis

2020-04-29 23:30:42 UTC

Meditate on God. Lift weights. Cut out carbs. Sleep 6 hrs, shower regularly. The rest is easy.

2020-04-30 00:12:35 UTC

Don't completely cut carbs. Try switching to more wholes wheat. Completely cutting carbs risks brain damage

2020-04-30 00:34:00 UTC

Yeah, just cut the simple carbs. Get those complex carbs and cholesterol. Eat 4 meals a day.

2020-04-30 01:03:55 UTC

The body loves to run off carbs for exercise so if I am running really far I eat gummy bears. Those things are great as a pick me up

2020-04-30 01:14:38 UTC

How about gaining muscle. I've always been skinny, tried lifting and stuff but I hardly gain 2 or 4 pounds and then lose them in a bit. Any advice?

2020-04-30 01:16:19 UTC

When you work out do you do in home stuff? Or gym stuff @Franz

2020-04-30 01:18:00 UTC

My issue is the fact I also dont have a proper eating schedule

2020-04-30 01:18:53 UTC

Well that would definitely be a problem

2020-04-30 01:19:04 UTC

Whatโ€™s it looking like now?

2020-04-30 01:19:42 UTC

If I open I only get dinner and on close I get breakfast and dinner

2020-04-30 01:20:43 UTC

We donโ€™t have breaks where I work since legally they donโ€™t have to give us any due to not employing minors

2020-04-30 01:22:00 UTC

Oh Jesus

2020-04-30 01:22:07 UTC

Used to go to the gym. Now I've lost muscle and replaced it with fat which aint good.

2020-04-30 01:22:17 UTC

Thatโ€™s my problem as well Franz

2020-04-30 01:22:50 UTC

Began working on cardio and got pretty good stamina. But then lost weight again.

2020-04-30 01:23:06 UTC

It's been a vicious circle.

2020-04-30 01:23:52 UTC

The issue is also that there isnโ€™t double coverage in my kitchen for me to dip to eat anyway

2020-04-30 01:24:17 UTC

Hey guys going to put it out there for anyone that may need it.

2020-04-30 01:24:19 UTC

Oh you work in a kitchen okay

2020-04-30 01:24:28 UTC

So, anyone do urbex, I highly recommend it, good for alot

2020-04-30 01:24:35 UTC

A kitchen in a convenience store yes

2020-04-30 01:25:10 UTC

Only thing I can suggest would be intermittent snacking? Like good snacks though, fruit, protein bars and shit

2020-04-30 01:25:30 UTC

Could work

2020-04-30 01:26:27 UTC

I am about to be 19 months (in may) clean and sober from drugs(opiates, coke, meth) and alcohol. If I can do it you can too. These last 19 months have been incredible rewarding but very difficult as well. It was a constant battle at first but now I am just living my life to the fullest! It is possible and if you need help do not be afraid to ask! You have to SURRENDER to win this war. BUT IT IS POSSIBLE!

2020-04-30 01:26:53 UTC

I stuffed my pockets with granola bars when I am on the move. It's not glamorous eating a cliff bar in 30 seconds but its energy. Great work Greggor

2020-04-30 01:26:56 UTC

Jesus man. Congratulations thatโ€™s amazing

2020-04-30 01:27:10 UTC

Cliff bars got me through highschool man

2020-04-30 01:27:49 UTC

Football track and wrestling with year round weightlifting. Cliff bars, protein bars and WATER

2020-04-30 01:27:51 UTC

Jerky is my fav

2020-04-30 01:28:00 UTC

Jerky ๐Ÿ˜ฉ

2020-04-30 01:29:27 UTC

Man why must jerky be so expensive

2020-04-30 01:30:27 UTC

My "go food" when I was working and didn't have time for lunch was usually 2 cliff bars and 2 20oz sodas. Almost no nutrition but like 1k Calories

2020-04-30 01:33:49 UTC

Try replacing one of the sodas with a water or even a Gatorade

2020-04-30 01:34:02 UTC

Electrolytes baby

2020-04-30 01:34:42 UTC

Iโ€™ve been drinking more water and gatoraid

2020-04-30 01:35:05 UTC

I also went vegan for a couple of weeks

2020-04-30 01:36:10 UTC

What sucks is the no dairy part

2020-04-30 02:07:10 UTC

Yeah I could never go vegan so good looks on you man; thatโ€™s awesome

2020-04-30 04:16:17 UTC

@GRANITE hell yeah brother. 6 years myself. ODAAT

2020-04-30 12:10:51 UTC

I've been trying to stay above 200 during this quarantine period

2020-04-30 14:52:42 UTC

Dude

2020-04-30 14:52:51 UTC

Building Cardio fucking sucks ๐Ÿ˜‚

2020-04-30 15:51:51 UTC

Yeah it does...try short distance sprints, increasing your distance and deacreasing rest time as you go.

2020-04-30 16:00:31 UTC

That's what I've been doing. I tried running 3/4 mile first and had to like die for half an hour afterwards ๐Ÿ˜‚

2020-04-30 16:01:14 UTC

I run 2 10k's a week and the last half mile I try and sprint

2020-04-30 16:01:19 UTC

So I dropped it to a kind of fast jog but not quite a run of a 1/2 mile, and now I'm making it while only having to die for 5 minutes ๐Ÿ˜‚

2020-04-30 16:01:22 UTC

Feels good after a while

2020-04-30 16:02:08 UTC

Back in sophomore year High School I could make a 6 minute mile, with a 1/4 mile sprint and still have gas in the tank. But that was 3 years ago ๐Ÿ˜…

2020-04-30 16:02:09 UTC

If youre feeling especially good you can drop and do situps and pushups every half mile without stopping for breath

2020-04-30 16:12:15 UTC

<:blobsignfml:607007016698904640> I hate cardio

2020-04-30 16:13:45 UTC

Focus on short combat sprints with a heavy load rather than long-distance.

2020-04-30 16:57:30 UTC

It'd be smarter to do both, having good cardio enables a lot more.

2020-04-30 18:42:08 UTC

Also Ruck marches.. I just did a short 4km march with a 18lb pack in like 40 minutes. Slowly increase weight and distance as you go too.

2020-04-30 18:44:20 UTC

Thatโ€™s a decent start

2020-04-30 18:54:03 UTC

Jump rope mothafuckas

2020-04-30 18:55:34 UTC

If youโ€™re just now starting cardio and you keep feeling like youโ€™re dying, try doing minute long bursts throughout the day.

2020-04-30 18:56:25 UTC

I did like 20-30 a day for a couple of weeks until I could do it for 5 minutes straight. Now I run.

Imo it was a much easier break in

2020-04-30 19:22:02 UTC

Jump rope is awesome. People who have never done it will say, oh jumping rope is easy there's no way it could be exercise. No, there's a reason boxers jump rope like crazy, you can use it to build both your aerobic and anaerobic endurance
