@Vertical I think it's a substitute for angst over immigration. They aren't smart or brave enough to stand against demographic displacement, so they attack one of its symptoms (a higher cost of living) instead because its more 'respectable'. Almost like the California gas tax repeal which failed. Hopefully Marine le Pen can step in and divert them to the root cause.

France has violent protests often. This likely doesn't result in revolution, but the contrast between Macron violently repressing the yellow vests and allowing third worlders to burn cars freely is useful for nationalist
