I def use and recommend YouTube tutorials for lots of crafty things.
Also I feel like I know how to use a tape measure.... But do I?
@Deleted User I got into sewing so I could make/modify Hunting/Military/Tactical Gear. Let me know if you need any help. Heres an Uzi chest rig I made after i couldnt find anything i wanted to buy. You can pick up old quality sewing machines on craigslist for super cheap, adjust for inflation the model I bought cost 2,000 dollars in the 40's I picked mine up for 50 bucks, works great.
@Cait_Bradshaw - MA my pops didn't slack on passing knowledge down to me and my brothers. He taught us how to build a house from ground up, how to work on cars and small engine repair, we had a tobacco farm growing up and when my dad was home we weren't far off.
I don't have any sisters so my mom taught us how to cook, do laundry, sew, child care and other things women traditionally do, so we would be prepared for the world.
My dad even prepared us for the JQ. My dad is so awesome. Haha
Also, I wish we had and mason. I want to learn tuck pointing. I understand it, but I want the secrets.
That's awesome. My father (if indeed I could call him that) wasn't around and I know how to do more than he does. Just about everything I learned I either taught myself or was taught to me by my grandfather
Sad reality for a lot of people in this day and age.
That's why learning these things and passing them on are so important
I was taught many different things from my father my grandfathers and great grand fathers on both sides. I teach my sons how to do everything I know.
@RevStench that's fantastic. I have great parents too but they bought into the feminist narrative and figured we'd all be career women with no need/interest in homemaking. So besides basic laundry and cooking it was kinda shrugged off.
@Brandon Ironside- ND that is some sweet and badass sewing skills.
I'm going to a wedding in a couple of weeks and am going to be buying a suit. What are some new styles and trendy color combos right now?
You arent one of the groomsmen are you?
@here anyone have some advice for @Tony V - CA#7460 ?
Depends on the time of day and the setting. In any case- black is too dour unless you're the groom imo.
If it's in the morning I'd go light grey with notched lapels.
You can get away with wearing a non-white shirt as long as it's a light color and the tie doesn't clash
depending on time of day either grey or black. my preference for a tie or aesthetic trim color would be a deep red.
@Tony V - CA#7460 Post a pic of yourself with as much visible as you're comfortable
if you are going with a bowtie tho just keep it simple with black
very aesthetic and classical
full white tux is very hard to keep clean during the whole ceremony + possible after party.
Agreed there
Yeah it really depends on how formal it is and what time of day
@Deleted User If this is your first suit, I recommend a Navy Blue & Classic Fit suit. One can always be trendy with accessories such as shirts, tie, socks, pocket squares, etc
^^^ This.
I have a nice navy blue suit, fits great. I'm wondering what color shirt and tie I should go with. It's a black tie event
White shirt, blue/white multi colored tie
Oh wait
I would stick with a White shirt. black tie non-sheen, black socks, black shoes and belt.
Yeah. Brown belt and shoes would go better if you had a blue/white tie, but if you have a black tie, black is necessary
Thanks for the fast responses I think I'll go with a white shirt and blue or black tie. Already have brown shoes and belt.
If its a black tie you need black suite, black shoes and black tie with white shirt preferably french cuffs. If it is black tie optional go with what you got fam.
If you're unhappy with your job because you have no opportunity to move up or get paid more and don't know what to do, explore alternative ways of raising your income.

Anyone good with photo editing?!?
@Whitelash I know photoshop pretty well what you need?
May I dm you?
Go for it
@Deleted User is there any interest for starting a โget involved in local politicsโ server? A lot of talk about this in the general
@Evan Thomas#4159 Dude, this reeks of terrible decisions
@CJames - TN#6244 another good idea. Iโm tied up these few days. Let me run that up the flag pole
Care to expand on your thoughts/concerns? @John O -#7072
It just has the je nais sais quoi of a scam
The article is just explaining how network marketing is working for a lot of businesses. There are thousands of people making a lot of money with MLM companies. It's always good to exercise caution to minimize risk and do what is right for you, though.
Most people don't have the money to start their own business and most of these companies don't require a hefty initial investment. If there is no other opportunity out there for someone that desires a lot more than what they're presently earning, at the very least, getting involved in something like MLM would help them to begin thinking bigger and more creatively. And if they work harder, smarter and faster than most of the people in it, they'll succeed.
Thinking outside the box of the normal 9-5 is especially necessary for the people in our movement.
I know a husband and wife that did mlm type businesses and saved up enough to start their own store. They seem to be doing pretty good. Successful people will succeed no matter what they do.
@Deleted User ๐๐ป
@Evan Thomas He mentions "The great Tony Robbins". I would be skeptical of anything said by someone who holds him in that high regard.
Tony Robbins isn't my favorite, but he's still got a tremendous following that find his information useful. I doubt I'd go to one of his events and I haven't read any of his books. I do know a little bit about his place in the self-improvement industry and think a lot of his gimmicky walking on fire stuff is great for short term inspiration and thought expansion, but that's about it. He's basically a brilliant marketer, but so far as I know, he doesn't teach how to build a great business.
https://youtu.be/Z-dqOi_z5bk Should've been a machinist. This shit is so implicit
@Deleted User What does this mean?
@JudenFrei#6240 just that he hired out of state lawyers to represent him
Thanks @Deleted User
When is that allowed?
When the judge allows it. Pro hac vice - for this occasion
@JudenFrei#6240 itโs usually not a problem as long as an in-state lawyer vouches that heโll make sure you behave yourself
Ok. Thx
Whatโs up
Why is there no welding channel?
@ParadoxusX I would post in the Machining channel, anybody who can run a mill, lathe, cnc likely can weld also. I do MIG welding if you need any help.
@Brandon Ironside- ND thatโs cool, I was wondering if you would needed a welding sme?
@ParadoxusX You can message @Deleted User and see if he needs extra help, he runs this server.
Thanks
@ParadoxusX we can change <#338633794896527360> to metalworking if youโre willing to pitch in
I work in manufacturing ๐๐ป
@DCViking Iโm always looking for guys who are willing to share their expertise
Absolutely. I have experience in assembly, fabrication and welding.
@Deleted User Iโll help any way I can.
I need to come to this server more often, so much practical stuff to work on
Why is plumbing not on here
We don't have any plumbers. Everybody knows a little plumbing work.
"Your shit is my bread and butter."
@โกClarkโก you can use that for your company.๐
Iโm studying for my state plumbing license now. Itโs seriously boring as hell and I hope I never get a chance to use it.
Plumbing is good honest work. Single plumbers in NYC are knocking back $200k a year.
Yea I work with and am friends with them, itโs just not my thing.
Right on. Well try another trade, I've worked in all the trades. Found I like carpentry the best.
Iโm a pipe welder
Iโm doing the pipe fitter apprenticeship so when I get old and blind Iโll know how to fit.
Haha I feel you there. You should try to get a job in an auto plant, if there's one close. Maintenance in a plant like that is sweet as.
I would love a nice maintenance job
Me too. I love what I do, but the benefits would be nice. And the slower pace would be great.
Are you up north?
No, I'm in Kentucky
I was thinking about electrical maintenance when I get old at a Ford plant or something
Move to the Midwest or Middle South and just kick back
@John O - right. My dad was the maintenance superintendent of Ford Louisville Automotive Plant. He retired 2 years ago and is getting ready to go back in a couple of weeks making ridiculous money.
My cousin is a machinist and started at Ford Kentucky Truck Plant making really good money, he's 34 and set for life.
My older brother started a few years ago just working the line and he has 4 kids and a stay at home wife.
The automotive industry is good shit. If you want to move to KY I can get you a referral ๐
And I love Henry Ford's views of the Jews๐
@RevStench if we're still in touch in 10-15 years, hell yeah
@RevStench ill move anywhere that pays good so i can provide for a big white family
i forgot this server was ๐ฅ
I can get you a referral. One of the best jobs in Louisville. Low cost of living here in KY๐
thanks man ill keep that in mind
i gotta get out of the "chocolate city"
<@&338760705945894913> @Bismark TX in IE main server would like an invite
