AC repair

2017-09-30 16:11:33 UTC

Diesel mechanics

2017-09-30 16:12:01 UTC

Line work is dangerous as hell. I think it's 1/100 mortality or something like that.

2017-09-30 16:12:25 UTC

The wage is awesome, and you get all the overtime you could ever want, though

2017-09-30 16:13:15 UTC

35 per 100,000

2017-09-30 16:13:20 UTC

Not that bad

2017-09-30 16:23:19 UTC

I have a friend who does it and loves it. Only took 6 months of training too

2017-09-30 16:23:40 UTC

It's a lot of traveling though

2017-09-30 16:32:44 UTC

All the trades need people. I run into people everyday looking for young guys to pick up the trades.
The problem is young guys don't want to work hard.

2017-09-30 16:34:39 UTC

I went to school for machining. Worked at a machine shop writing programs doing set ups and tool changes on cnc machines for production use. Started out at 40k and loved it. Would probably still be there but I was stuck on 3rdshift with no sign of seeing first within 15 years. So I quit and became and automotive technician. Was very successful and was making over 60k after a couple years. I got to where I hated my job and spent my time off dreading going back in. So I quit and now I work on heavy equipment and like it for the most part because I travel all over the state and never do the same thing at the same place day to day

2017-09-30 16:35:24 UTC

My dad was the superintendent of maintenance at Ford LAP for over 20 years and he always complained there weren't enough good tradesmen left.

2017-09-30 16:36:48 UTC

Hey is anyone @here aware of any job leads. I have no experience other than basic electrical, plumbing and carpentry stuff from redoing some houses. In desperate need of a higher paying job.

2017-09-30 16:37:45 UTC

I don't think it's just young people. Everyone now days want to be millionaires that party all the time and don't want to have to earn anything.

2017-09-30 16:37:59 UTC

I did work in a restaurant for 3 years cooking and managed it for a year

2017-09-30 16:38:17 UTC

Master a trade, become a leadman. Bullshit your way into something better. @JohnStrasser

2017-09-30 16:38:21 UTC

Also a year at a bank and a year managing a grocery store Front End

2017-09-30 16:38:30 UTC

@JohnStrasser Where are you located

2017-09-30 16:38:35 UTC

@RevStench how do into that?

2017-09-30 16:38:51 UTC

Nc but I am willing to go anywhere

2017-09-30 16:39:24 UTC

Your managerial experience would almost garuntee you a job if you learned a skill

2017-09-30 16:39:38 UTC

Let me ask around. I live in LI so if you ware willing to come here I may be able to help

2017-09-30 16:40:56 UTC

@JohnStrasser prove your worth, the old school way, I out work people, I do the things most people won't.

2017-09-30 16:42:29 UTC

@RevStench Thanks, modern education system for painting the trades as work for the Morlocks

2017-09-30 16:42:56 UTC

For sure

2017-09-30 16:43:01 UTC

@RevStench same here bro

2017-09-30 16:43:30 UTC

Like @JesseJames everyone wants to be a millionaire

2017-09-30 16:44:19 UTC

Everyone wants to be an Eloi

2017-09-30 16:46:11 UTC

I don't meet a lot of plumbers these days, and the old guys I meet can't find anyone to train.

2017-09-30 16:46:14 UTC

Kids now days think they can rap or do pranks on YouTube and become rich and famous. It's so easy why bother with learning anything.

2017-09-30 16:46:23 UTC

Reeeeee

2017-09-30 16:47:44 UTC

I know a couple plumbers one industrial and one residential both do well for themselves

2017-09-30 16:48:29 UTC

@JesseJames It's a lot to do with their parents. My mom, to this day, nags me to go back to school, even though I'm worth more than half my cousins, despite being a decade younger than most of them.

2017-09-30 16:49:49 UTC

Brainwashing the natives into thinking they're too good for skilled labor brought about the current immigration crisis' in the West

2017-09-30 16:53:12 UTC

check your PM regarding job @JohnStrasser

2017-09-30 16:53:39 UTC

Thanks guys

2017-09-30 16:53:41 UTC

2017-09-30 16:55:48 UTC

@John O - ya the older generations are to blame for a lot of bs if you ask me.

2017-09-30 17:16:08 UTC

FUCKING BOOMERS

2017-09-30 17:18:05 UTC

Remember that Socrates was a stone mason. And most of our founding fathers were either tradesmen or farmers.

2017-09-30 17:32:32 UTC

Sense it relates to the convo the place I works puts people through trade school to get you're Lpn nursing. It's a 2 year contracts I'm thinking about do it next year.

2017-09-30 18:59:58 UTC

FVTV get a 608 HVAC certification. It's fairly cheap and easy and it leads to a plethora of job opportunities

2017-09-30 19:00:07 UTC
2017-09-30 19:03:03 UTC

Noted, thanks sir

2017-09-30 22:43:14 UTC

That talk about the trades needing folks is absolutely true. Nearly all the unions are hurting

2017-09-30 22:43:32 UTC

They're being essentially forced to take immigrants to stay viable

2017-09-30 22:44:21 UTC

Work ethic has been diminishing since Gen X

2017-09-30 22:45:43 UTC

But the boomers are only half right in their criticisms

2017-09-30 22:46:10 UTC

The effort to pay ratio is often shit for most trades where you aren't your own boss.

2017-09-30 22:47:04 UTC

As we say in the automotive field, you're getting paid to kiss but they're trying to fuck you.

2017-09-30 22:47:29 UTC

@von Raudenbusch PA is the only state where I would ever do Union work. Every other Union state is full of the laziest pieces of shit.

2017-09-30 22:47:46 UTC

Every union has slugs

2017-09-30 22:47:53 UTC

Doood

2017-09-30 22:48:06 UTC

It's way worse in NY though

2017-09-30 22:48:36 UTC

90% of unions are corrupt politicized pieces of shit anyway

2017-09-30 22:49:02 UTC

They all backed Obamacare so they could gut benefits and leave the boomers high and dry

2017-09-30 22:50:02 UTC

The only useful thing about mine is that we get 40 hours guaranteed flat rate pay a week

2017-09-30 23:05:40 UTC

Come to a right to work state, white man. Let the Socialism lite fail while you real your reward

2017-10-01 01:54:42 UTC

One thing about unions is after Charlottesville I heard of a few guys getting doxxed and losing their job. Of course they weren't get out of the union but I'm sure it will follow them around. Johnny monoxide being one of them.

2017-10-01 02:02:46 UTC

@JesseJames The TRS guy, right?

2017-10-01 02:03:55 UTC

Ya he is on mike and the mad wop and paranormies. On episode 1 or 2 or mike and the mad wop he gives the whole story of what happened.

2017-10-01 02:57:43 UTC

I really don't consume TRS stuff. I'll check it out.

2017-10-01 03:05:41 UTC

I do when I need something not so serious and comical to enjoy between listening to audiobooks.

2017-10-01 03:36:13 UTC

I'll probably catch flack for this, but I'm not a huge fan of Mike. I should probably check out the other ones, but I just haven't yet.

2017-10-01 03:52:23 UTC

Check out fash the nation. For sure a good one and definitely not like the daily shoah

2017-10-02 03:41:38 UTC

@John O - Are you fullpol?

2017-10-02 07:56:58 UTC
2017-10-02 19:48:29 UTC

Just joined the group. I don't know if someone is already hosting a discussion on tracking, animal field dressing, shelter building, etc, but that is my field.

2017-10-02 19:50:09 UTC

Also, is there anybody in this group interested in buying land to practice these skills?

2017-10-02 20:27:33 UTC

@jaybird1#1419 check out the <#322712657973215233> channel

2017-10-02 20:28:18 UTC

Thanks, will do

2017-10-02 20:36:37 UTC

@jaybird1 if your in the upper Midwest I have land we can practice on, I am also a ranger moderator, welcome to the server!

2017-10-02 20:41:39 UTC

@Brandon Ironside- ND , yes, I'm in Wisconsin. I'm hoping to set up a survival retreat and confidence building courses. I'm ex CB Navy, but I have extensive experience in long range shooting, medicinals, shelter building and primitive fire.

2017-10-02 20:46:31 UTC

@jaybird1 Great, I would be interested in talking with you more about that, and making it a reality. You should write up a plan and post it in the ranger discussion channel, we can discuss the class curriculum , and see how many people would be interested in attending!

2017-10-02 20:53:58 UTC

@Brandon Ironside- ND Great, will do. How many acres do you have available? I'm thinking 3 acre obstacle course, 300 yard firing range, and additional 10 acres for foraging, shelter building, etc. My goal is to establish a 10 man group of long range shooters.

2017-10-02 23:39:07 UTC

fash the nation is the best alt right pod cast imo

That's good for business!

2017-10-11 20:03:32 UTC

I teach myself a ton of stuff online. Youtube taught me how to sew, crochet, iron... A ton of stuff my mom probably learned from my grandmother but never found the inclination to pass on. Is it the same for men?

2017-10-11 20:08:52 UTC

The time you could have been helping your dad in the garage was when you were at soccer practice

2017-10-11 20:24:00 UTC

My husband has to use YouTube for some things.

2017-10-11 20:24:46 UTC

I need to learn to sew
