Also, I wish we had and mason. I want to learn tuck pointing. I understand it, but I want the secrets.
That's awesome. My father (if indeed I could call him that) wasn't around and I know how to do more than he does. Just about everything I learned I either taught myself or was taught to me by my grandfather
Sad reality for a lot of people in this day and age.
That's why learning these things and passing them on are so important
I was taught many different things from my father my grandfathers and great grand fathers on both sides. I teach my sons how to do everything I know.
@RevStench that's fantastic. I have great parents too but they bought into the feminist narrative and figured we'd all be career women with no need/interest in homemaking. So besides basic laundry and cooking it was kinda shrugged off.
@Brandon Ironside- ND that is some sweet and badass sewing skills.
I'm going to a wedding in a couple of weeks and am going to be buying a suit. What are some new styles and trendy color combos right now?
You arent one of the groomsmen are you?
@here anyone have some advice for @Tony V - CA#7460 ?
Depends on the time of day and the setting. In any case- black is too dour unless you're the groom imo.
If it's in the morning I'd go light grey with notched lapels.
You can get away with wearing a non-white shirt as long as it's a light color and the tie doesn't clash
depending on time of day either grey or black. my preference for a tie or aesthetic trim color would be a deep red.
@Tony V - CA#7460 Post a pic of yourself with as much visible as you're comfortable
if you are going with a bowtie tho just keep it simple with black
very aesthetic and classical
full white tux is very hard to keep clean during the whole ceremony + possible after party.
Agreed there
@Deleted User If this is your first suit, I recommend a Navy Blue & Classic Fit suit. One can always be trendy with accessories such as shirts, tie, socks, pocket squares, etc
^^^ This.
I have a nice navy blue suit, fits great. I'm wondering what color shirt and tie I should go with. It's a black tie event
White shirt, blue/white multi colored tie
Oh wait
I would stick with a White shirt. black tie non-sheen, black socks, black shoes and belt.
Yeah. Brown belt and shoes would go better if you had a blue/white tie, but if you have a black tie, black is necessary
Thanks for the fast responses I think I'll go with a white shirt and blue or black tie. Already have brown shoes and belt.
If its a black tie you need black suite, black shoes and black tie with white shirt preferably french cuffs. If it is black tie optional go with what you got fam.
If you're unhappy with your job because you have no opportunity to move up or get paid more and don't know what to do, explore alternative ways of raising your income.

@Deleted User is there any interest for starting a “get involved in local politics” server? A lot of talk about this in the general
@Evan Thomas#4159 Dude, this reeks of terrible decisions
@CJames - TN#6244 another good idea. I’m tied up these few days. Let me run that up the flag pole
