@Virgil My thought is that expeditions could be yearly or seasonally, in a different state every time. Boundary Waters canoeing, Maine backpacking, Utah rafting, etc.
Alien Nation by Peter Brimelow could be a good one. I read it a long time ago when I was younger and dumber, so I don't remember a lot, but I remember it being interesting.
@Reinhard Wolff Also, I brought this up to Greg, but a good way to support families in the organization is a carseat recycling program. They're rated at a duration good enough for two-three families.
If you volunteer in a disaster zone as explicitly IE, beware ICNA (islamic circle of north america) and NECHAMA (jewish disaster response). They are well funded and active and, well, likely to be rustled.
