He didn't say to "stand down", he said to "stand back and stand by". That may seem like symantics to you, but I hear it completely different. Wow! I did NOT expect that from anyone at CNN. He actually told the truth. To the opposing arguments: The People did vote... for Trump. He's in for at least the first FOUR years, not three years and/or a few months. The People voted for a Repulican Senate. The President is REQUIRED by the US Constitution to nominate a replacement. The Senate is REQUIRED to either confirm or deny the nomination. Period. THAT is the Constitution.

While Steve Turley produces good content, there is something about him that I can't tolerate. I'm not sure if its his voice, his intonation, or just the way he runs his show. @MikaSetsu, one thing that seems to be escaping the attention of those planning to shut DC down is that ALL of Washington DC is Federal ground. This means that "local" law enforcement is Federal AND that the Military can (and probably will) be used to defend the entire city and especially the White House. It will not be a good day for them.

In order to vote in Oklahoma, you must be registered in your voting district 30+ days in advance of the vote. When you walk into the Polling Station you must produce a valid, certifiable ID. Anyone can get one by going to a local Tag Agency and provide proof of who you are, cost is like $5. The Poll attendants go through their list of registered voters, find your name, mark it off, and hand you the appropriate ballot(s). The voter takes a pen from the box and walks over to a secluded station, fills out their ballot, voting in privacy, then walks the ballot over to a counting machine and feeds their ballot into the machine themself. THIS is the way it should be done throughout the country!

@Eagle source? I live in Oklahoma and have for over 50 years. I have participated in numerous elections, and this is the way it is done. I guess you could say that I am the source of that information, but that is the way Oklahoma has always done it, with the exception of the vote counting machines, which have come into use in more recent years.

REMOVING Section 230 completely is a BAD idea. It would have the most devastating effects on Content Creators. Updating the Section 230 to not provide protection to "groups" that claim to be Platforms but act as Publishers would be the far better way to go.

Section 230 needs to be overhauled or, SCOTUS could hand down rulings that remove 230 protection in specific conditions.

The intent behind 230 was to provide Platforms with the abilty to allow free speech without being sued for it. It's purpose has been twisted into allowing the Platforms to censor Publishers that they don't agree with, for whatever reason. This is an abuse of 230.

Aslo, @john23, I have to agree with Ben Shapiro here and say that socialism/communism was NEVER a good idea in any context. Both allow for the theft of Peoples hard work and innovation via the noble sentiment of "for the people".

@Dank_Furry_Pirate: Schools and Teachers recieve their funding (school funding and teacher salaries) from Federal and State (and possibly local) taxes. This, by definition, makes them Public Employees, just like police. They have no right to "Expectation of Privacy". Period. Just thought I'd point that out to you.

I believe that many "Private" schools also recieve some Federal funding as well, but I am not certain of that point, nor would I know which ones do vs don't. As a side note: I believe that ALL Colleges in the US recieve Federal (and in the case of Oklahoma, State) funding as well as private funding via donations and tuition. I live in Oklahoma and know that our colleges (OU, OSU, and others) recieve State funding. I don't know about other States. There is something in the Oklahoma State Constitution that when an Oklahoma College recieves a private donation, the State must match that donation in ADDITION to the College's normal State budget.

This became problematic when, a number of years ago, T. Boon Pickins donated several hundred million to OSU at one time. Imagine all that in Taxpayer money having to be diverted just because of that clause. There was a HUGE clamor about it throughout the State.

@Pal3Rid3r, the Coroner should list his death as "lead poisoning". If that had occured in Oklahoma, the accomplises would be tracked down and tried for murder. The logic to that law is that if they had not "encouraged" the now-dead friend, he/she might not have commited the crime and so, would not be dead. It's been a VERY effective tool in cutting down on break ins, especially coupled with Oklahoma's Constitutional Carry, Stand Your Ground, and Make My Day laws.

One thing that is a common thread to __this__ server is that facts and/or sources are expected when throwing out comments such as yours. If you can't supply a legitimate source, then don't throw out the accusation.

As you have pointed out, "criminals don't obey laws" and so, won't bother to get a permit if required but will still (and do) carry a gun anyway. The SCOTUS ruled in the Heller case that the "keep and bear" means "possess and carry" firearms. In keeping with the Constitution's 2nd Amendment, that right "SHALL NOT be infringed". This means that to require a permit to lawfully carry a weapon infringes on the right of the people to "keep and bear arms". I stress "Shall not" in this case because there is a distinction in law between "Shall" (or shall not) and "May" (or may not). Shall, as used here is definitive and means that something will (or will not) occur where "may" means that it is optional based on other criteria. In essence, what you are proposing is to punish, by requiring a permit, law abiding citizens for doing what a criminal is going to do anyway, because they don't care what the law says. I hope my explanation here has provided you with a bit of insight.
