Im conscious I've joined an American Nationalist server
I like that @isoboto
@Kaladin is there such a thing as good nationalism?
An immensely simplified version of Nationalist ideology @Kaladin
I participate in it tbh
I'll be honest I got a Dm from a person I never met before saying join Zeducation so I joined
One of the most boring ages tbh
Amen
I've been to Finland, 10/10 would recommend
The happiness thing is measured by how happy the people perceive themselves to be
The Finnish perceive themselves as happy more
Then the Danish
https://worldhappiness.report/ed/2020/#read
@Simpnautica cultures are very different and tied to politics and economics, Finland is a lot better politically and economically than most countries making for a happier country in my mind
Dont mistake gender and sex
Theres two sexes, male or female, difference being reproductive and biological functions
@2Lazy2BeOriginal I was talking to @KirkpattieCake
Gender is mostly socially constructed
You were saying the "dude" is saying gender has nothing to do with biology. Whoever this dude is, is right, gender is social, sex biological, simplest way to remember it
Again... gender is social, sex is biological
Its pretty established that gender is social, many people use the word wrong which is why people think that way
The use of the word only really came into use in the past 50 years and the notion of gender, sex and such have only really been studied more in less than that time
I would consider them as the female sex but in my opinion thats irrelevant, gender is far more shaping on lives and thats really what I care about
Im biologically a man but im not defined by my reproductive system, I've been shaped by how I was raised, the culture around me, the education I received
no
Both differ, some men have a lot of testosterone some dont, same for women
Your amount of testosterone doesnt really influence social constructs by any significant amount
Women and men communicate different due to how they have been raised
Men are often raised to avoid expressing emotions whereas girls arent
Thats not at all wrong
Thats how we are culturally raised
...ok...
...why am I wrong?
But it is tho... theres no chemical which tells men to avoid communicating their emotions...
Yes change in chemicals does effect your emotions, its the same thing that happens in puberty, it doesnt affect how you communicate them
You were saying men and women communicate differently due to biology
They dont... the culture surrounding them does...
...
What evidence...
Im watching it and the first thing it says is that we have a box for our cars in our brain
If thats what we call evidence nowadays sheesh
Those lists of differences are social issues... not biological
Women dont apologise more because of biology...
No.... its cultural
Its really not wrong, men of other cultures (nationality wise) apologise significantly more than men of American culture
Because it is cultural...
Yeah there are@isoboto
Some value macho women
That claim isnt false tho
There are countries and cultures whos men apologise more than American men
I mean you can simply take Canadians as a basic example
Yeah probs, cultures massively vary
Culture is the single most important factor in the world in general
And it shapes how we men behave, I can honestly say I dont communicate my emotions well because everytime I did as a kid I got called a girl or a gayboy, not because I have chemicals in my brain telling me to hide my emotions and apologise less
Yes
Im not saying whats right or wrong, I'm simply saying that it exists, the difference exists @isoboto
On the basis of culture, I'm saying the differences between how males and females communicate emotions or behave is 99% dependent on culture, i.e men dont cry, Kirk has been trying to explain that men dont apologise because of biology
@isoboto not denying that, also not claiming its because of biology
How is the article random
You posted it as a means of making your point
So you want me to ignore these examples?
Brain work i.e biological or thinking through cultural norms? @isoboto
Also I wasnt talking to you, that quoted message was a reply to Kirk @isoboto
The same can be said for women
In a 21st century advanced society what is the biological need?
Again that was a reaponse to someone else
Largely yes
Lets say you live in an underdeveloped nation with poor quality of life, you need to be strong to survive
You have to plow your field, fight off whomever etc
In an advanced nation with high quality of life I can buy my food from a supermarket, I'm not at all likely to be attacked
Yes, as theres no biological need to be macho
Same applies to women, women in poorer places have a need to produce children to help on the farm or in other places
In an advanced nation bearing children isnt a necessity to survive, its what you want to do
@isoboto you'd be surprised
How so?
And also what are traditional roles... tradition depends on the culture which the society operates under
Or just pick someone who makes them happy
I would 110% argue that women in Sweden are less likely to revert to traditional roles than lets say Iran
I think i phrased that wrong but meh
Thats the problem
You said in nations where women have achieved equality
I compared it with a place where they havent
Free places have equality
How?
Its a comparison
Freedom is a spectrum @isoboto
Not to the extent of unequal places tho
I'd say you can definitely have a maximum and minimum freedom
I was referring to death and death @2Lazy2BeOriginal
Why cant you have maximum freedom @isoboto
Who says maximun freedom requires a government
I dont think the ability of thought influences your freedom negatively, the way you think doesnt make you less free
Me having a random thought doesnt mean im losing freedom points
Thats really just a nonsense point
"You cant be free because you still think"
And apparently you cant escape a mental prison?
You cant escape your worries?
But if you had an abundance of those things and your stomach was full you wouldnt escape it?
