No. Freedom is an illusion. If it's a spectrum, you are implying you have maximum and minimum freedom, which is untrue and objective

2020-12-27 16:07:54 UTC

I'd say you can definitely have a maximum and minimum freedom

2020-12-27 16:08:21 UTC

Sure. But, again, as i was saying. Cultures shift doesnt necessarily mean we rid ourselves of our biological need or incline completely

2020-12-27 16:08:28 UTC

There’s total freedom which is never possible. Than there’s slavery. Are you saying that’s max and min freedom?

2020-12-27 16:08:45 UTC

I was referring to death and death @2Lazy2BeOriginal

2020-12-27 16:08:49 UTC

Nope. You never can have maximum freedom. It is in your brain

2020-12-27 16:09:24 UTC

Why cant you have maximum freedom @isoboto

2020-12-27 16:09:43 UTC

Death, again, can be seen as a temporal stop in the endless cycle of life, if you are looking at it from the culture lens

2020-12-27 16:10:09 UTC

Wait death?

2020-12-27 16:10:43 UTC

Because it is almost impossible. Even assuming you are under an utopia where the government is nice and all that, you are still controlled and driven by how your brain works.

2020-12-27 16:11:04 UTC

Who says maximun freedom requires a government

2020-12-27 16:11:27 UTC

Even without the government lmao

2020-12-27 16:11:51 UTC

If you are in the wild by yourself, your brain and body just doesnt kick off and relax

2020-12-27 16:12:05 UTC

Still follow the same pattern of needs

2020-12-27 16:12:28 UTC

if your in the wild your brain is hardwired to search for food

2020-12-27 16:12:56 UTC

Assuming I understand isoboto. You would be restricted by nature

2020-12-27 16:13:09 UTC

I dont think the ability of thought influences your freedom negatively, the way you think doesnt make you less free

2020-12-27 16:13:43 UTC

Me having a random thought doesnt mean im losing freedom points

2020-12-27 16:14:08 UTC

Thats really just a nonsense point

2020-12-27 16:14:15 UTC

Oh yeah. Nature is the cruelest of all lol

2020-12-27 16:14:19 UTC

"You cant be free because you still think"

2020-12-27 16:14:44 UTC

Your thinking can still restrict you. It's called mental prison

2020-12-27 16:14:56 UTC

Even though you can do whatever. You still have to worry about nature being a brat and it restricts how you perceive freedom

2020-12-27 16:15:14 UTC

This is assuming freedom is having no worries

2020-12-27 16:15:56 UTC

And apparently you cant escape a mental prison?

2020-12-27 16:16:30 UTC

Wdym?

2020-12-27 16:17:54 UTC

You cant escape your worries?

2020-12-27 16:18:31 UTC

oh you can have momentarily escape your worries but when you get out of the relaxed state. You will still have it

2020-12-27 16:18:41 UTC

No, you can't. Don't know where you live but living in the wild without the government doesn't automatically make your stomach full

2020-12-27 16:19:23 UTC

^

2020-12-27 16:24:59 UTC

But if you had an abundance of those things and your stomach was full you wouldnt escape it?

2020-12-27 16:26:17 UTC

You would also have boredom to overcome and there’s also predators to worry about. Weather too

2020-12-27 16:29:47 UTC

Who is providing food for you? Moreover, an unsimulated brain will turn you into mush and useless. If maximum freedom means there ia nothing to strive or achieve, that sounds terrible. For a day or two, there may be no worries of hunger, but it will return. Human natures would soon dictates that the person start finding flaws in the perfect system and fixing up things

2020-12-27 16:31:11 UTC

I would say you copied me but since you put it so well, that I won’t disputed it

2020-12-27 16:38:17 UTC

These are entirely hypothetical so just hypothetically if someone had all their needs and more could they escape it?

2020-12-27 16:40:54 UTC

Like pure happiness and no stress?

2020-12-27 16:41:21 UTC

Like swiss family robinson

2020-12-27 16:43:06 UTC

Who’s that?

2020-12-27 16:44:28 UTC

Depends on the person. I would bet a large amount yes (assuming it's god's works and not the great benevolent government tampering with a new control method).

That being said, each has their own needs, unless this hypothetical situation meets all needs perfectly, sooner or later there will be resistance. Some that are wired to question everything will soon find this weird utopia strange.

Plus, i would argue in this case it's not really freedom at all. You are just chained to primal needs. Parts of what makes you feel rewarded is hardship, so easy satisfaction will lost its lust after a while

Same person who said trump is a piece of shit for something he did in the past
