Yea that's the plan. So I just limit permissions on the original channel and throw in some rules with a pin?

@Auto Congress has the power of the purse. They propose the budget, that's where a lot of their power comes from ($)

I think that is what all those "peaceful transition of power" questions have been about!

I like to keep a mystical aura about myself but I think you know where I'm leaning on this one!

@Zuluzeit Biden has a much girthier record on justice reform than just the 1994 crime bill, but I see your point.

What are you looking for @โ™คamanda ?

I share concerns about an overly powerful executive branch @NidoGod @Zuluzeit didn't like Bush / Obama doing it, don't like Trump doing it either.

Woodrow Wilson. Federal income tax.

@โ™คamanda that website is actually surprisingly detailed for public records. Your next best bet would be public records requests directly from the court / police department. If they don't have a process, you can file a FOIA request.

@NidoGod With Wilson, I'm not a fan of his fiscal policies generally speaking but agree he was part of a major national conversation on the issues and was part of a wave. But he signed the new major tax policies into law and was responsible for enforcing them. He's generally credited with laying the foundation of the modern tax framework, which is what I don't like. So he gets the blame! And @Auto Presidents typically set the agendas and have the opportunity to veto unworthy bills.

FDR on the list and also not a fan, due to his major expansions of government basically everywhere plus his attempt to pack the court.

Thank you so much!

@Zuluzeit yes I'd like to know what went down in the backrooms between Wilson and the power brokers.. @Auto such a big question!

Lol

What else am I missing?

Definitely.

Yea I've noticed that now that you mention it.

Maybe because they think Biden is a foregone conclusion.

No I'm not familiar - do you have a link?

Okay cool I'll poke around

Thank you for the link! I'm surprised I haven't listened to a single of episode of War Room yet but I've been meaning to check it out, thanks for flagging it for me and thanks for being a part of the show. These issues are important to me and I'm grateful for the opportunity to be able to add a small tiny tidbit to the conversation.

<@!772980428696584202> just read it, thanks for the share. Police unions are notorious for this type of stuff. Basically propaganda / PR organizations for bad officers in many respects.

Interesting, the rationale being Trump is more stable?

Very interesting thank you!

I think I got a few million of those.

Election battlestations?

Tonight's show

Yea both MI and Wisconsin were big flips

I used a sharpie on my ballot, mailed it in, and I checked this morning and verified it was counted.

In Maricopa County

Yea, completely anecdotal

Anyone read any good explanation for the vertical increases there?

I'm trying to see if there are any patterns here.. if anyone knows any of this off-hand or has links (particularly for legislature numbers) I would be grateful for the help filling this in ๐Ÿค“

Love that @Maw I've always thought about it like a layer or a "corporate blanket" that keeps the powers in both parties warm and fuzzy.

While we are all talking about numbers today, here are ours from last night's livestream. Just over 5 hours, whew! We had a ton of fun and I just want to thank everyone who was a part of the stream. Very humbled and grateful!

Hi Theresa thanks for the great comment. It is definitely an issue and as you know something we've been following. I've got a PA litigation update queued up for the end of the show today. Two issues right now: 1. Trump's suit to stop canvassing until they can monitor has a hearing scheduled tonight at 7 p.m. and 2. Trump filed to join the US Supreme Court case regarding the ballot extension and those issues. I think it is going to get messy.

1 minute!

Webcams of the counting room in Maricopa County

Everyone is tweeting away lol

I was just looking at that actually.

No hard rule, looks like he can request it but has to pay for it.

But there are some important deadlines for a request so we'll probably see a slew of requests today.

Yea the better strategy I think is to challenge the extended deadlines and try to nullify the votes that came in after election day (or even after election hours closed)

Its not over yet. PA had 3 days NC had 9, etc.

Yea not a good look. American's would not be happy with the prospect of possibly invalidating legitimate votes and for good reason. But if you are Trump, it is the better strategy given that these late-coming votes seem to be breaking strongly for Biden.

@WatchingYouDaily No. Strict scrutiny is a very strict standard. That would be way too overbroad. You can be convicted of a misdemeanor and still retain your voting rights and there are already mechanisms in place to disqualify felons, etc.

Interesting question though. Taking it one step further, the next question would be - what about for poll watchers or election center workers? I think there is a much better argument there because it is narrowly tailored.

On the flip side if you have a former felon convicted of fraud / crime of dishonesty counting ballots that might make people uneasy.

No I think it is a loss for the defense. It is really hard to point fingers at someone else when they are in the courtroom pointing fingers right back at you!

Yea I agree. Seems pretty basic to me.

They were going to be for a live show on election night @Elias Diaz

What's up @Merctech !

What's up Kevin!!

Night night @FSX239 I'll catch you next time!

We are a mess too. No one escapes.

You too @Maw thanks for everything!

Thanks @Upsetty Spaghetti Rittenhouse will be a good one to follow.

That's where @FaithJoy comes in. She helps me with show prep big time. I usually draft my outline in the morning and she does the prep! She's the best.

Thanks @Avalon grateful you are here!

Lol no.

Nope, she joined the firm awhile back and has sort of matured into our creative director and she helps me put everything together.

Totally @FSX239

There are many more lucrative jobs that being a lawyer believe me @Merctech !

Yea @FSX239 I appreciate that feedback. The Rittenhouse analysis was new for me I was just experimenting with the show format and the content and I'm always trying to improve.

Whereabouts @Merctech ?

I don't think so @Avalon feels like wishful thinking to me.

You can say it @Zuluzeit ....

๐Ÿ™‚

Thanks for the link @True

The invite to this channel?

or server, rather?

Okay thanks! Fixed in a couple spots.

No kidding @Maw do you have his channel?

I still laugh thinking about that.... "GUYYYYYYY"

Amazing stream tonight - wow! Thank you to everyone for being a part of the show. Incredible!

And thank you @FaithJoy and @Maw -derator clicking like crazy! Appreciate you all.

That's awesome @spacefan247 that'd be great. I'll ping Ms. @FaithJoy to DM you.

No kidding? That's very nice of him I'll have to reach out! Thanks for the heads up.

Lol no no I just like to wear extra small shirts!

Small + mediums = smediums size according to my friends.

All over the place @A211 usually starting with Twitter which leads down different rabbit holes. Legal documents I prefer to go straight to the source when the public record is available (like the official court orders or memos etc.)

Hey @Doc great question. It is mostly a free market. Defense experts sort of self-credential based on their selected fields. In criminal law, there are no standards of what qualify a person as being an "expert" because it is such a broad term. So if you wanted someone who is an expert on a blood analysis saying a DUI case involving a death, you would go find someone who is highly qualified on that topic. Typically these are people with PhDs and a lot of experience or authorship in the subject. Also frequently ex-government employees (like former DUI officers or ex-crime lab employees). We don't agree with the prosecutors but they are free to cross-examine them and undermine their credibility in front a jury, as we are free to do to their experts.

(That is the layman's explanation - for more information on this stuff https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Daubert_standard)
