2020-11-03 00:46:39 UTC

Is this where we're officially chatting now?

2020-11-03 00:48:18 UTC

Yeah I bet the other chat turns into the welcome channel

2020-11-03 00:48:52 UTC

That's smart. Too chaotic otherwise.

2020-11-03 00:50:26 UTC

Yea that's the plan. So I just limit permissions on the original channel and throw in some rules with a pin?

2020-11-03 00:50:47 UTC

You can just make sure only you can text in it

2020-11-03 00:51:28 UTC

@RobertGrulerEsq thatโ€™s what I would do. Maybe make everyone click agree to the rules lol

2020-11-03 00:51:43 UTC

@Auto Congress has the power of the purse. They propose the budget, that's where a lot of their power comes from ($)

2020-11-03 00:51:44 UTC

Thatโ€™s what I have seen on other channels

2020-11-03 00:52:09 UTC

Too many libertarians here to have rules, I reckon.

2020-11-03 00:52:17 UTC

I kid. I kid.

2020-11-03 00:52:33 UTC

@RobertGrulerEsq but congress doesnโ€™t have the police or fbi or the military so whatโ€™s stopping the president with them from just waltzing in and saying this money is ours now!

2020-11-03 00:53:21 UTC

I think that is what all those "peaceful transition of power" questions have been about!

2020-11-03 00:53:32 UTC

@Zuluzeit I am not a libertarian just a fan of people who want to have smaller government. Anyone who believes that gets my vote ๐Ÿ˜‚

2020-11-03 00:54:15 UTC

Robert are you voting libertarian/trump/nobody coz I know youโ€™re definitely not voting Biden(at least from the this you said)

2020-11-03 00:55:45 UTC

I like to keep a mystical aura about myself but I think you know where I'm leaning on this one!

2020-11-03 00:55:50 UTC

libertarian constitutionalist here so yea smaller the better...

2020-11-03 00:55:53 UTC

i don't care who anyone votes for just as long as they vote

2020-11-03 00:56:39 UTC

All but 2 republican and 3 democrat senators voted yea on that crime bill. Painting Biden as some kind of rogue draconian hawk is kind of facile, imo.

2020-11-03 00:56:39 UTC

In Australia itโ€™s a crime not to vote. I donโ€™t know what the penalty is though.

2020-11-03 00:57:33 UTC

i watched a video of a woman in australia get arrested for something they posted on facebook. sounds like an interesting place

2020-11-03 00:57:35 UTC

@RoberGrulerEsq yes, it's very mysterious. I haven't the foggiest. Lmao

2020-11-03 00:57:53 UTC

@Zuluzeit I think itโ€™s the dishonesty. The โ€œof you donโ€™t vote for Joe, then you ainโ€™t blackโ€. Okay Joe. Sure.

2020-11-03 00:57:59 UTC

I am very nervous that a lot of the powers of Congress have been given over to the President and Trump has only sped up that erosion

2020-11-03 00:58:16 UTC

@Nido what powers?

2020-11-03 00:58:19 UTC

thats great you want to build your wall but you bypassed Congress by declaring a national emergency and took the money you wanted

2020-11-03 00:58:47 UTC

@Zuluzeit Biden has a much girthier record on justice reform than just the 1994 crime bill, but I see your point.

2020-11-03 00:59:04 UTC

what is stopping President Biden from going "national emergency, climate change" or "national emergency, healthcare"

2020-11-03 00:59:08 UTC

and doing whatever he wants

2020-11-03 00:59:19 UTC

we already know nobody is going to stop him

2020-11-03 00:59:23 UTC

@Nido none of that sounds new to me.

2020-11-03 00:59:37 UTC

@Gypsy_Warlord but in regard to justice reform, specifically, the crime bill is a partisan wash.

2020-11-03 01:00:32 UTC

you might be right, but I can't think of any other scenario where the President asked for funding for something, Congress said no and he did it anyway

2020-11-03 01:01:24 UTC

@Nido the actual administration right now advocates entirely for autonomous reign of the president. They even have a name for that doctrine but I can't remember it. Point being, you can't have for only the guy you like.

2020-11-03 01:01:40 UTC

@Nido I respect the criticism but I see Trump being singled out for behavior that was defended when Obama did it. Obama deported twice as many immigrants in his first term. Started more wars. Trump helped to pass criminal justice reform. Obama was there for 8 years. I voted for Obama so I am not speaking from prejudice. Itโ€™s just a bit one sided I think.

2020-11-03 01:01:47 UTC

I believe the President has the power to divert funds already allocated for one thing and move it somewhere else under certain circumstances. I'm not really sure how that works though

2020-11-03 01:01:57 UTC

what happened with the ACA @NidoGod ???

2020-11-03 01:02:16 UTC

@NidoGod do how is enough opioids/other drugs to kill the United States 3 times over not an actual emergency ?

2020-11-03 01:02:43 UTC

Like when he took funding for out of country military construction projects from the pentagon and put that money into building the wall

2020-11-03 01:03:43 UTC

unless I am wrong, I believe the ACA has been funded completely by Congress. Its funding has been subject to fights and shutdowns and threats of shutdowns but Obama has never unilaterally funded it with his emergency powers

2020-11-03 01:03:47 UTC

The crisis at the border is a very real emergency

2020-11-03 01:04:10 UTC

Trump should have redirected 20 time more as far as Iโ€™m concerned

2020-11-03 01:04:33 UTC

@RobertGrulerEsq I know it wasn't a good look but what we have now is Bill Barr...which speaks volumes about the intentions of the current administration. The guy is the living antithesis of everything for which you advocate. He's nearly psychotically pro police at any cost.

2020-11-03 01:05:01 UTC

if you believe scientists, climate change is the biggest threat to national security. Why can't President Biden just yank money for dams in Louisiana to implement his own pet projects?

2020-11-03 01:05:14 UTC

I don't want the President to have that power

2020-11-03 01:05:17 UTC

republican or democrat

2020-11-03 01:05:18 UTC

Because we donโ€™t have enough money to make a real dent

2020-11-03 01:05:50 UTC

When China and India is polluting like 10 times more than us

2020-11-03 01:06:19 UTC

If Biden waged war on these countries to stop them from poluting so much then I would agree

2020-11-03 01:06:38 UTC

most "illegal immigration" is not from people crossing the border in the dead of night. Its people overstaying their temporary visas. How is the wall going to stop that?

2020-11-03 01:06:47 UTC

Well exactly

2020-11-03 01:07:00 UTC

The wall shouldnโ€™t be against illegal immigration

2020-11-03 01:07:02 UTC

I share concerns about an overly powerful executive branch @NidoGod @Zuluzeit didn't like Bush / Obama doing it, don't like Trump doing it either.

2020-11-03 01:07:12 UTC

its dangerous

2020-11-03 01:07:36 UTC

It was always about stopping an obscene amount of drugs entering our border until Trump made it about Muh Illegals

2020-11-03 01:07:54 UTC

I still seem to think it was all the lobbyist that greased the pockets of our very same government just to force it thru... ACA did irreputable damage to the medical industrial Complex. Remind me why the wall hindered Americans?

2020-11-03 01:10:11 UTC

A lot more people were deported under Obama than Trump. Nobody even cared about ICE until Trump became president. Man is the best thing to happen to the progressive platform in 2 decades ๐Ÿ˜‚

2020-11-03 01:14:52 UTC

@RobertGrulerEsq least favorite president? Plz plz answer

2020-11-03 01:15:18 UTC

In my lifetime or ever?

2020-11-03 01:15:37 UTC

Ever

2020-11-03 01:15:53 UTC

Ronald Reagan, hands down.

2020-11-03 01:16:00 UTC

Woodrow Wilson. ๐Ÿ˜‚

2020-11-03 01:16:13 UTC

Ronald Reagan? Whoa ๐Ÿ˜‚

2020-11-03 01:16:25 UTC

Yeah Reagan did a lot of good things for this country

2020-11-03 01:16:31 UTC

And people really did love him

2020-11-03 01:16:33 UTC

Oh, ever...still Ronald Reagan.

2020-11-03 01:16:38 UTC

Thinking worst Hoover Best Washington...

2020-11-03 01:17:01 UTC

Didnโ€™t Reagan have the biggest landslide in the history of the country ?

2020-11-03 01:17:02 UTC

Mister, we could use a man like Herbert Hoover again.

2020-11-03 01:17:14 UTC

Woodrow Wilson. Federal income tax.

2020-11-03 01:17:16 UTC

Why do people rn seem to think so poorly of him

2020-11-03 01:17:29 UTC

Richard Nixon won the biggest landslide in the history of the country.

2020-11-03 01:18:09 UTC

Nah that was Reagan

2020-11-03 01:18:11 UTC

They think poorly of him because he implemented economic policies which were a ticking time bomb.

2020-11-03 01:18:17 UTC

He absolutely destroyed

2020-11-03 01:18:31 UTC

Richard Nixon lost only Pennsylvania.

2020-11-03 01:18:53 UTC

Well Pennsylvania is worth more than those 2

2020-11-03 01:18:56 UTC

So my point still stands

Thank you, sir.

2020-11-03 01:21:47 UTC

Reagan was still more

2020-11-03 01:22:05 UTC

Yeah I guess electoral votes.

2020-11-03 01:23:00 UTC

uh, fact check maybe. The 16th amendment had the number of votes for ratification before Woodrow Wilson took office?

2020-11-03 01:23:08 UTC

why the hate

2020-11-03 01:23:28 UTC

Hate for what?

2020-11-03 01:23:55 UTC

Zuluzeit yea may be a based Opinion but the FBI/CIA and financial things and what my Gr8 grandpaw told me about him. The New Deal etc so yea dont like most of it...

2020-11-03 01:24:32 UTC

I took @RobertGrulerEsq 's comment that his least favorite President was Woodrow Wilson because of income tax

2020-11-03 01:25:19 UTC

@Shitty Kitty I wasn't disagreeing. Those were the All in the Family lyrics. Lol

2020-11-03 01:25:35 UTC

well he think Taxation is theft

2020-11-03 01:25:48 UTC

so thats why he hates him probably

2020-11-03 01:26:03 UTC

@NidoGod Wilson signed the first income tax bill.

2020-11-03 01:26:10 UTC

Into law

2020-11-03 01:26:14 UTC

I thought Grover Cleveland was the first President to impose an income tax

2020-11-03 01:26:23 UTC

then it was struck down by the Supreme Court

2020-11-03 01:26:34 UTC

Wilson's wife signed a lot of stuff after his stroke.

2020-11-03 01:26:52 UTC

Ahh dang why did i miss that LOL @Zuluzeit
