When information is curated, your democracy is dying.

2020-11-04 21:15:19 UTC

Wholeheartedly agree on that. Media is the single biggest propaganda/wielder of power over the people's opinions and thought processes.

2020-11-04 21:15:43 UTC

And like you said; when your information is curated, your democracy is dying.

2020-11-04 21:18:13 UTC

And I feel like the reasons for that stem from enterprises/businesses being way too involved in politics.

2020-11-04 21:18:25 UTC

I'm (surprise) anti-establishment.

2020-11-04 21:20:18 UTC

These big conglomerate businesses buy up dying news agencies from a bygone era and then end up curating what journalists report on, and they largely base that on their political affiliation/candidates of choice.

2020-11-04 21:21:16 UTC

Who in turn play a game of favors to the businesses themselves.

2020-11-04 21:21:28 UTC

It's a really bad situation to be in.

2020-11-04 21:26:52 UTC

Sounds like some Gangs of New York stuff going on

2020-11-04 21:26:59 UTC

Boss Tweed era shenanigans

2020-11-04 21:27:35 UTC

And surprise surprise, it's mostly owned by companies that have boomed economically due to the boom of the internet in the 90s, the rise of cellphone technology, and have such massive market shares because of it.

2020-11-04 21:31:20 UTC

Like, I don't mind that business can support politicians, but I have a problem with businesses that support politicians, then curate information Americans rely upon for their political opinions.

2020-11-04 21:31:31 UTC

There is a very glaringly obvious conflict of interest there.

2020-11-04 21:32:29 UTC

I think people just need to unknow that common forms of news media and social media are unbiased in any fashion, and reknow that they are basically party platforms

2020-11-04 21:32:44 UTC

using Facebook is basically giving money and power to the DNC, nothing short

2020-11-04 21:32:58 UTC

Interesting thing I just saw on Crowder about vote fraud in Michigan https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ivT2z5UgHxo

2020-11-04 21:33:11 UTC

however, this knowledge will lead to a bifurcation of media, and a bifurcation of employers, and businesses

2020-11-04 21:36:00 UTC

I saw that too as it was breaking on Crowder. More red flags throwing the vote process integrity into question

2020-11-04 21:40:27 UTC

Honestly: I'd sum up my political opinions by saying one thing: There are four branches of government and the one that is never talked about is the enterprise branch.

2020-11-04 21:41:24 UTC

It's becoming less and less about citizens and more and more in favor of corporate interests for conglomerate enterprises.

2020-11-04 21:48:58 UTC

Love that @Maw I've always thought about it like a layer or a "corporate blanket" that keeps the powers in both parties warm and fuzzy.

2020-11-04 21:55:19 UTC

@RobertGrulerEsq Much agreed. It's a big comfy blanket made of money.

2020-11-04 22:08:12 UTC

Where tf is a table. F the useless map.

2020-11-04 22:09:11 UTC

North Carolina ; electoral votes] ; [R%] ; [D%] ; [%tallied]
ETCETERA

Seriously. Abolish the media NOW.

2020-11-04 22:22:17 UTC

If you were to make that actual string parsing from a programming language it'd look more like: ```"%1$s ; [%2$d] ; [%3$d] ; [%4$c] ; [%5$d\%]"```

2020-11-04 22:22:40 UTC

Depends on the language though.

2020-11-04 22:22:59 UTC

In not. It's just a table.

2020-11-04 22:23:07 UTC

Where is it???

2020-11-04 22:30:55 UTC

@RobertGrulerEsq I live in PA. Been watching your show for a while. Don't comment very often. The PA Supreme Court also ruled that signatures on mail in ballots don't need to match, so a lot of people are freaking out about that. An article I read says that the law doesn't mention requiring signatures to be verified. I'm super mad about the PA SC for extending the deadline, and feel it is a major overreach of power, but in my mind the SC was within their power to say-the law doesn't mention signatures, so if election officials are satisfied with the vote save for the signature, they cannot reject it. Any thoughts? Personally, I think matching signatures are a no brainer, but if it's not in the law-it's not in the law. Any thoughts or additional info you might be aware of??? Thanks!

2020-11-04 22:34:33 UTC

Hi Theresa thanks for the great comment. It is definitely an issue and as you know something we've been following. I've got a PA litigation update queued up for the end of the show today. Two issues right now: 1. Trump's suit to stop canvassing until they can monitor has a hearing scheduled tonight at 7 p.m. and 2. Trump filed to join the US Supreme Court case regarding the ballot extension and those issues. I think it is going to get messy.

2020-11-04 22:34:53 UTC

It means deceased people (and cats) may able to be cast valid ballots more often.

2020-11-04 22:39:19 UTC

What concerns me the most is ballot harvesting to be completely frank, but that's due to a number of reasons.

2020-11-04 22:40:48 UTC

@RobertGrulerEsq I figured you would talk about PA today. Part of me is a little hurt that you kept calling my state a mess last night, but most of me wholeheartedly agrees. We've been a mess with Covid restrictions and with the election. So you just keep calling us a mess. It's probably a nicer word than we deserve.

2020-11-04 23:48:37 UTC

It sounds like Maricopa County has yet to be counted yet (?), so there's a chance that Trump can still turn AZ, from what I understand. The man behind the curtain, Arnon Mishkin, treats the suggestion with disdain, but. . . it's a possibility.

2020-11-04 23:50:06 UTC

I was just looking at that. There are only 4 districts not yet reported. https://results.arizona.vote/#/featured/18/0

2020-11-04 23:52:10 UTC

Ah ok, good to know. Thanks!

2020-11-04 23:53:29 UTC

i saw that the AP called MI for Biden just some time ago. but the margin is 1.3%.

2020-11-04 23:53:48 UTC

also this from bloomberg on MI

2020-11-04 23:54:09 UTC

It makes sense since they're going to trend Biden from now on.

2020-11-04 23:54:30 UTC

how do you have more than 100%? or am i just ignorant?
