So have any of you done a DNA/ancestry test like 23&me before?
Do they trace it back through the family tree, like show you how your paternal and maternal line branch off and those kinds of details?
Just saw Logan again. Ever see that movie?
Sup
@Cheepskipper I don't view humans as logical agents
We're animals, and thus we are driven by animal instincts
People believe all kinds of things without evidence. It is cute to think that we can have a completely consistent rational view of the universe that explains everything but that's silly. We're animals flailing about, fumbling with our convoluted thinking, desperately seeking survival
@Cheepskipper you're missing my point. Logic is overrated
@Cheepskipper sure, why do you value logic?
Saying the scientific method leads us to the truth is circular-why does the truth matter?
Humans value the truth, but we also value emotions, religion, and all kinds of other things
As they say you can't derive an is from an ought. Even if the truth exists, why should we care?
Hello
@King Leopold II what denomination fam?
cool
@King Leopold II depends on the denom
lets leave it at that
everything's relative with cucking
what's your politics boi
great
anyway debate question time
short answer is it depends
well, this is why Hoppe was interesting to me
He showed that the private sector could theoretically be a tool of the far right
would it work out that way under anarchy? No, but its a good thought experiment
@The Big Oof last post over there was Last Sunday
Yeah, how dare you, I don't live in a desert!
Too hot
lol
did your ancestors do that too
how the hell did they pass on their genes if they were all blind
now I'm imagining a tribe that as a rite of passage has its members stare at the sun until they lose their vision
maybe just the women so they can't run away lol
although they'd have trouble raising babies
does anyone want to discuss the question of the day
or just scream about religion
and anglos
Devil's advocate
What do you mean by universal
@FreshWholeMilk lol what do you mean by universally true you just keep using the same word
woah
"I like my people" = HELL
that escalated quickly
@Ventruvi what are you politically
libertarian eh, anarchist or statist
would you have any objection to white people going extinct?
Or whites becoming a minority in your country
First of all are you white?
What objection would you have to white extinction?
why does that objection not also apply to white nationalism?
"black nationalist" like blm lol
What's with 2 debate topics this close together?
Race obviously has a biological component, that's why a black man who has a British accent and wears a suit and tie isn't white.
I mean sure there's a social component, but that's secondary to the fact that we can easily recognize when someone is a different race
Depends which Collective
This is a false dichotomy
If I must choose, security because you can't exercise any rights or liberties if you're dead
Civilization and the higher values/principles of society are based on the foundation of power, violence, and security. First you must establish a stable order where there is one dominant force who rules and then people living under this dominion may develop sophisticated ideals
In other words, freedom depends on security.
When people talk about freedom in a libertarian context they're really talking about the right to own property and use it how they see fit (without government interference)
The irony being that to do so requires the maintain of a social order which respects property rights
To have this requires a dominant force having a monopoly over a territory and securing a united social order
After all, you need a mechanism to ensure that a socialist power doesn't rise and abolish those property rights
Anarchy is not a friend to the libertarian concept of freedom
The state is
I think freedom is over simplified.
The social order I view as ideal has hierarchy. Men have authority over their wives, parents over their children. In some sense the children have restrictions placed on their freedom to choose, same for wives
Yet, this model gives the parents rights that I view as vital, namely the right to raise their children as they see fit
To deprive them of that right is far more unjust than depriving a child of the right to sex or drugs
Well speaking of biological success, I think group dynamics, social norms, and civilizations have their own Darwinian survival of the fittest
The orders which persist are one's that constrain degeneracy, dysfunction, and the excesses of female nature
They impose rules on the populace, kill rule breakers, and deter future rule breaking. This has a eugenic effect
Well, man is not an island. The first rule of biological success is adaptation to the enviornment. Humans adapted to live in groups
A group of humans that specializes a class of farmers who farm food to feed soldiers who conquer other tribes, crush them, and steal their land/food is infinitely superior to one lone human who has better eyesight or something
Society is a human adaptation for survival and it's why humans rule the world
Well, it depends on your definition of freedom
Anarchy is freedom from a state's coercion, but now you're vulnerable to coercion from all the predators the state coercion deterred/killed
What about freedom from rapists? To have this you need a mechanism for killing/deterring them
The libertarian concept of freedom is property rights, I'm not a Libertarian btw
Morality is an idea that exists in the minds of humans, which exist as a consequence of human biology
And it is an adaptation for human survival
I am not a modernist then
@CronoSaturn we grow.
@Aki sup
I mean sure we can say that when I was an embryo, I was still me and from that moment till now it's been me all along, all the same person, but that person has been growing obviously
It's a philosophical thing I suppose it's a matter of opinion
@CronoSaturn @Aki because that embryo and I have the same genes
The only difference between us is time and experiences
Genetic engineering seems outside the scope of this conversation
This is so much more interesting to me than politics. Fuck politics
I said time and experience @CronoSaturn
@CronoSaturn I originally said that my answer to the question was We Grow I just clarified that in a certain way the fetus and all of the stages of Life are the same organism growing so it's sort of a yes and no answer
A caterpillar and the butterfly it becomes are both the same organism in different stages of life
The same would apply for the stages of human life like embryo childhood teenage years excetera
lol how is cuckoldry a strategy
@CronoSaturn oh, sure cucking somebody is a strategy, but when you said cuckoldry I was thinking of the cuck, who doesn't have a strategy here lol

Tldr
So basically create an AI that has a thought process similar to yours so when you die it will live on and people can engage with it and get a response that you would've said if you were there? @Scipio Americanus
