At least the comments are based.
I love the #stop americanising
Jesus taught the Pope as having authority under him over the entire Church. The Pope said you're btfo if you're a socialist or a commie, period, no matter what.
I've never seen him depicted as blonde but I have seen him as a Korean
When did the black and Korean Jesus show up?
I remember the Bible specifically saying there was nothing remarkable about his appearance.
Well, for blacks it would be the same time-frame that they were saying that they are kangz and shiet
๐คฃ
Mary could not have been black though. There are no 14 year old black virgins

Correct
<:godemperor:445097873890082817>
He banned all pro aborts, and banned priests from giving them communion
At least priests are beginning to fight back
they need our support

I'm gonna come like that
As a byzantine knight
@Deleted User itโs about time. Are any other priests/bishops doing the same?
Ours are trying to fend off the invades, while our patriarch is the same level as the catho pope
minus he swear on gays
@Andrules some
Some of the ones accused of protecting alleged pedophiles
@Deleted User The stories that surfaced against the pope that he was protecting pedos, happened anything or it was silenced? Haven't heard anything related to it
Oh really?
Cardinal Wuerl signed a declaration against faggotry and shortly after is when he was accused of coverups
What do these niggers want
They don't want us ruling entire continents and burning people
They take away our God-given temporal power, but then accuse us of not doing enough
The fuck we supposed to do
Thatโs what I donโt get either.
It's either you are doomed or doomed no other choice
I agree with GLR... send them back and tell them to fuck off and leave us alone ๐ฑ๐คฃ
It's like the fags that promote degeneracy and when it reaches even the churches because bishops can't do shit, they scream over to churches for not doing anything
People are beginning to dress immodestly too, I feel like the priests, bishops and deacons are overwhelmed and don't want to scare people away by being harsh. Though, there needs to be a crackdown.
There's several reasons for it
On the one hand, yeah. They will appear to be too heavy handed and push people away. Better to have a lukewarm Christian than an atheist.
Also the era. What was considered obscene at one time, today isn't. And vice versa.
Our priest said you will not participate in lay ministry if you aren't dressed for Church according to the Southern custom. That means a collared shirt, pants (not jeans), and a belt.
You won't be a lector, extraordinary minister of communion (which shouldn't exist at all), choir director, etc
Or usher
I just want your knees covered, and your shoulders covered. I'm not even asking for how much the priest is asking.
Knees and shoulders isn't a lot to ask for.
And God said he would rather have us hot or cold than lukewarm.
Though idk.
As far as laypeople go these are the face of the Church. If I go into a Church and see regular parishioners dressed casual, ok, but if I see an usher looking like shit, then that whole church looks like shit
Exactly
I want to go to your parish xD
I am a little more tolerant of a tourist church though, like historic cathedrals etc.
Will they still have mass at Notre Dame when it's rebuilt?
Because I've been in Savannah, Charleston, Saint Augustine etc and not there for church, I'm there for sightseeing etc. But I will usually go to daily mass
Yes
Beautiful.
I want to visit Rome and Notre dame sometime.
Go on a 'pilgrimage'
But when I'm making a dedicated trip for the purpose of worship, I'm dressed like a Southern gentleman
Absolutely.
The lady I rebuked had these on.
they were a little shorter on her though
little kids can wear shorts and whatnot, but 12+ should be dressed well
I'm not gonna let my kids wear shorts
I'm talking about ages like
0-6
Them are 90's shorts
I'm still not letting my kids wear shorts
@Iakovos what exactly did you say, and was it to the girl or her parent(s)?
It was to the girl, and I told her she was dressing immodestly and that her clothes were scampy. If we're going to worship the Lord we need to adhere to Scripture when it says to be modest.
Her father got on to me, and I told him, "Had I known you were her father, I would have told you." And he said, "Well it's my responsibility, not yours!" So, it's whatever. I'll say that I handled it the wrong way, but it something that needs to be said.
I thought she was my age but she was probably a few years younger.
Ah. The age was going to be my next question.
Well... if you see something you believe is wrong, take it to a church leader(s). Being a random new guy at a church and rebuking people makes you look like some holier-than-thou jackass.
There were a few things that led up to that. Wayyyyy too many people were dressed immodestly, and it was probably best that I go to the church leaders anyway, but I didn't so oh well.
I'm on a quest
A glorious quest
And my quest is complete

I already have
Dude
Orthodox use leaven bread
The ONLY denomination to not use unleaven
Despite the clear message in 1st Corinthians to keep the Feast
Unless there is another too, they are in clear violation of scripture
Leavened bread was used always in the eastern church from its first creation
Corinth is in Greece
And a Paul warns them to NOT use it
In the Christian East there is no concern for using the exact type of bread used at the Last Supperโknown in the Orthodox Church as the โMystical Supper.โ Christ โleavensโ our lives, so to speak, and the purpose of the Eucharistic celebration is not to โrecreateโ or โreproduceโ a past event but, rather, to participate in an event that is beyond time and space and which, in fact, continues to happen each time the Eucharist is celebrated in fulfillment of Our Lordโs command.
1 Corinthians 5:1-10 New International Version (NIV)
Dealing With a Case of Incest
5 It is actually reported that there is sexual immorality among you, and of a kind that even pagans do not tolerate: A man is sleeping with his fatherโs wife. 2 And you are proud! Shouldnโt you rather have gone into mourning and have put out of your fellowship the man who has been doing this? 3 For my part, even though I am not physically present, I am with you in spirit. As one who is present with you in this way, I have already passed judgment in the name of our Lord Jesus on the one who has been doing this. 4 So when you are assembled and I am with you in spirit, and the power of our Lord Jesus is present, 5 hand this man over to Satan for the destruction of the flesh,[a][b] so that his spirit may be saved on the day of the Lord.
6 Your boasting is not good. Donโt you know that a little yeast leavens the whole batch of dough? 7 Get rid of the old yeast, so that you may be a new unleavened batchโas you really are. For Christ, our Passover lamb, has been sacrificed. 8 Therefore let us keep the Festival, not with the old bread leavened with malice and wickedness, but with the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth.
9 I wrote to you in my letter not to associate with sexually immoral peopleโ 10 not at all meaning the people of this world who are immoral, or the greedy and swindlers, or idolaters. In that case you would have to leave this world.

Yes, I know the passage. He explains why we do it.
To the travesty that papism is the leavened bread isn't something that I care though as unscriptural.
Filioque is unscriptural too yet you still do it and endorse it
Oh, so leaven bread is fine?
But filioque isn't?
Oh so filioque is fine?
but leaven bread isn't? It goes both ways.
It's certainly wrong as it's not scriptural never denied it, but there are worse anathemas
On the other hand, most Eastern Churches explicitly forbid the use of unleavened bread (Greek: azymos artos) for the Eucharist. Eastern Christians associate unleavened bread with the Old Testament and allow only for bread with yeast, as a symbol of the New Covenant in Christ's blood. Indeed, this usage figures as one of the three points of contention that traditionally accounted as causes (along with the issues of Petrine supremacy and the filioque in the Niceno-Constantinopolitan Creed) of the Great Schism of 1054 between Eastern and Western churches
@Iakovos You see this problems didn't magically happened today, they exist from the start of the church and they are the ones lead us to the schism
That leavened bread isnโt talking about Passover. Itโs an example of how a small โcorruptionโ corrupts everything around it.
But it's equating yeast to corruption, and that we should keep the Festival of Unleavened Bread.
Read the context around Festival.
So bread with yeast is corrupt now?
So beer is corrupt?
@Deleted User has anyone here attacked your faith?
For Communion, apparently so.
It says Festival of Unleavened Bread
Is there something making you so angry?
Christ seemed to use unleavened bread during Passover.
I think youโre teaching a little there. But to each their own ๐คท
I have extended generous hospitality and consideration to the Orthodox here.
I'm just seeking answers
The passage is still referring to casting out the sexually immoral person because they can corrupt the whole church. Not that eating bread with yeast is wrong.
Did I say or attacked anyone? From the very beginning I joined the discussions I stated my beliefs over papism also
But the Feast of Unleavened Bread is used in the New Testament.
And they never changed it to *leavened* bread.
If I crossed a line though I'm sorry

Right
And where is their scriptural reasoning?
Everything must be backed by Scripture ultimately.
Is it with the translations?
Haha

That's what you get for bullying the rest of the world.
Just kidding lol
Well your church is based on adultery and killing your spouse, so...
<:smugpepe:445634631950139403>
@Deleted User Thoughts on unleavened and leavened bread?
That's just what they want you to think
@Deleted User Also I'm sorry if I crossed a line Rag
Look, I agree with almost every tenant of Orthodoxy and it's easier to accept than Catholicism, except for maybe infant communion and leavened bread.
But leavened bread is a huge deal.
Eastern Catholic uses the same bread as Orthodox
So both are valid
Donโt worry tea-nigger. Theyโll hate on me just as bad. Iโm a silly Protestant ๐คฃ
EC rites are equally valid according to the Pope vested with authority
I am neither, I am simply Christian seeking answers.
Well I'm not taking anything back for the papacy though <:smuglaugh:448311843086401536> โฆ
I see @Deleted User
Wait.
Do Eastern Catholics believe in Immaculate Conception?
Latin rite uses unleavened bread. Eastern rites use leavened
@Iakovos yes
RIP
Immaculate Conception is a hard teaching
All Eastern Catholics believe in the exact same things as Latin Catholics
IC is one of the easier ones if you look at it from another angle
Why do Catholics believe that Mary was sinless?
Even free of personal sin?
From where do we get Original Sin?
Original sin is fine, but certainly she could have sinned.
@Deleted User So to understand, the eastern churches that joined papism still have the same beliefs as the orthodox churches that didn't joined?
On the original sin route... I assume you mean from being descendants of Adam and Eve?
@Deleted User it's not called papism.
papacy
Then since Jesus didnโt have an earthly father, he didnโt get original sin?
I like the Orthodox interpretation. We inherit the *condition* of original sin, and the consequences/mortality. Not the guilt of original sin.
Eastern churches that are in communion with Rome have the same beliefs as other Catholics but their "rite" is generally the same as Orthodox
Greek Orthodox, and Byzantine Catholic, have the same liturgical rites
Rag is the Orthodox interpretation of original sin the same as Catholic?
Doesnโt it actually say in the NT that because Adam sinned, weโve all sinned and the wages of sin is death?
So Adam was likely immortal before he sinned.
This is a Catholic Church
Yeah Remus. For the whole like 2 days he didnโt ๐คฃ
@Deleted User answer my question
@Iakovos yes and yes. Our interpretation is the same but Orthodox explain things sometimes differently
@Andrules Concerning the originalโor โfirstโโsin, that commited by Adam and Eve, Orthodoxy believes that, while everyone bears the consequences of the first sin, the foremost of which is death, only Adam and Eve are guilty of that sin.
Orthodox is more "mystical" and Catholic is more "logical" I guess
But the belief is basically the same
@Deleted User More or less yes
