lol I didn't do the signs right. I got 23/6 that's why
๐ it's really hard to pay attention to that sometimes. Especially on timed exams
Yeah that's a good way to check. I try my best lol
Anyone @here to help with another math question?
I know the answer to this question, I'm just not sure how to solve to get to it
6/9 * 3/12 squared - 4/6
No. supposed to solve it
I meant I knew the answer
Yep did that
Would a photo help for reference?
How do I get 1/24?
When I multiply I get 54/1296 and i don't know how to reduce it because I'm bad at fractions
So cancelled out the 9s and divide 6/144 ?
Okay thanks @GetOffMyState#8267
@micbwilli could you explain your way a bit more? How do you know that's what your supposed to do?
This is so complicated lol. Okay. So just find the GCD and then reduce it down.
Or in this case, I could just divide 6/144
Right?
And if it's not a problem where it can cancel out then what?
Okay
Thanks. Yall
On another note, why do we teach PEMDAS when it should be PEDMSA?
I've gotten answers wrong for doing multiplication first sometimes though
And same with addition and sibtraction
This class is online. The teacher just supervises. I followed PEMDAS as taught but when I did I kept getting answers wrong and when I viewed the solution they were doing division first
Yes omg
The worst part is that it only counts one answer correct. And if you don't get that correct it marks it wrong even if you understand the concept
And you cant practice the same problem twice
It keeps changing it up
Whenever you get it wrong
Yeah haha and I am not a scientific person
I'm majoring in media production.
I might. My instructor is Asian with a broken accent of course. Yeah I've demonstrated that I understand how to do the concepts
What's a TA?
Oh nvm
Sorry duh
This guy isn't even a "teacher" he just sits at his desk while we come into class to work on a $100 computer program
Wow
Yeah pretty much. At the lower level it's not too bad. But after that I can agree. I'm gonna have to see if there's any white TAs around lol
Does anyone know of a brand or company that sells swords for movie props? Working on a project where I will need some and if possible I'd like for them to look real and not heavy.
$300 at the most @StrawberryArmada
That'd be awesome thanks @StrawberryArmada
What are some good workouts that you can do at home without weights?
This is for the days when I don't make it to the gym. I do workout with weights regularly. Thanks for the suggestions
What is the FFL? @BigBadSaxon - ID
What are some good resources to help track how many calories I eat every day?
Is it free?
Need some help with a math problem @here
I have to solve a linear inequality problem:
A delivery driver makes $52 each day that she works and makes approx. $8 in tips for each delivery. If she wants to make $220 in one day at least how many deliveries does she need to make?
Do you solve for x or just leave it as that expression?
Okay that makes sense.
Thanks. Your goy here can't do maths to save himself
I'm in a learning support math class since my ACT score wasn't high enough to be eligible for me to enroll in the primary math course required for my major.
So I have to take this class and then college algebra class and then hopefully I'm done
What do you guys think of LA fitness? I know of lots of gyms that that are known for ripping people off, but it seems like a pretty good place
Working on graphing linear equations in two variables (x and y).
And the line I have to graph is 5y=9
I put it in a graphing calculator and came back with a straight line (0,0) which is incorrect as the problem is asking for two coordinates for x and y
So the answer I came back with is 0, 1.8
But the computer program I have to do my homework on requires me to answer the x coordinate and it will not accept 0. Very weird
Ohhh okay. That seemed to have worked. Is this the case whenever there is a straight line?
This program drives me nuts
I just got another answer wrong for writing it in decimal numbers but it was counted as wrong because the answer was in fractions. Did the math calculation, and the fractions converted into the decimal coordinates that I entered.
It did not. It just said "Find the y-intercept and x-intercept of the following linear equation."
oh woops sorry that was the next problem
the one they flagged wrong was the coordinate points -4.8 and -0.375
they said those were incorrect and that the right answer was -24/5 and -3/8 which are the exact same numbers
Yes I did. I will for sure. If this was on a test and graded in that way I would have gotten the problem wrong
Lol should I be sad or glad that I found my way into this channel?
Does anyone have experience in real estate?
@Zyzz do you know how real estate wholesaling works?
@Zyzz will do thanks. I've wanted to learn more about it and I've found a few potential leads on properties in my area that could be profitable. I'm just not sure I trust myself to start doing it yet
I'm not looking to rip anyone off. I want to make money by serving as a solution to their problem. They have a property they need to get rid of fast and we can both make money. If wholesaling is shady and scamming then I don't want to do that.
I've got a camera tech question for anyone who's familiar with canon. I'm having a problem with my canon T6i where the ISO will start spazzing out while taking video. I stand in front of a bright softbox light, the camera is set to manual, ISO at 200, aperture at 3.5 (lowest) and on occasion if I move or hold something that is reflective on the light, the ISO will freak out and crank up to 3200. The LCD touch screen looks as if someone is pressing the buttons to raise the ISO but again everything is set to manual on the camera so idk why it would be reacting this way? It's a strange glitch. Does anyone have any suggestions?
It's already on manual, as stated above
What's P mode?
I have the dial turned to M for manual, and then switch the camera into video mode.
Autofocus is also off so everything is adjusted manually
Yeah very. I'm not sure what to do other than replace the camera
Found this online earlier today. Now even you can be Aragorn with this one workout to rule them all
Any advice for messaging a girl on Instagram? Someone that has mutual friends followed me and I figured why not, she's cute and her page is free of thottery. She goes to the university I'll be transferring to next year. Obviously my intention would be to get to know her in person, but any tips for just making an attractive first impression?
I need help factoring a math problem @here
-x^2 + 5x + 14
@Jacob it's for college learning support math
Not really all I've learned is the "what adds to give us the middle term and multiplies to give us the third term
Okay
So before that wouldnt you write it as
-x^2+7x-2x+14? Factor out the -x, but then what happens to the x attached to the 7 and 2?
