Maybe deepfakes proliferation is a good thing. Maybe it's better if the world develops into one where nobody can trust statements made- or video footage from electronic mediums.
Maybe our societies have been too overreliant on audio and video mediums in order to shape the citizens perceptions of reality.
Maybe then people will be forced to go out and observe things for themselves and come to their own concluscions rather than just "watch a video" and base their whole world view around it.
Perhaps, if it is common knowledge that an audio and video recording can be created of a person saying something they have not said, people will judge the thing that is said separately to the person saying it.

@semiAuto The main historical limit to procutivity during the night in the past was insufficient lighting to allow for work to take place, along with being cooler and requiring to remain closer to sources of warmth, and not wandering far and wide. In Egypt for example, a single lumen hour oil candle, required over 100 hours of human work. 1 hour of light = 100 hours of standard human labour. Most people therefore CANNOT be productive. Candles drastically lowered this, and lightbulbs a hundred fold more. The result is that now, unlike the past we can work at all hours, compared to before where we were limited by restrictive light levels.
