You have a worse sleeping schedule than mine dude and thats hard to achieve considering I can wake up at 10

2019-08-31 05:34:40 UTC

I run on about 4 hours sleep 🤷🏻

2019-08-31 05:35:01 UTC

I run on 4-6 depending on how much I feel like pushing it

2019-08-31 05:51:07 UTC

Ooh, is this the insomniac off?

2019-08-31 05:51:22 UTC

Am I too late?

2019-08-31 05:51:29 UTC

I can't really run on anything less than 7 hours TBH

2019-08-31 05:51:46 UTC

(for the most part)

2019-08-31 05:51:59 UTC

there are times when I'll be able to run with like...2-3 hours sleep

2019-08-31 06:32:30 UTC

Running on 4 hours sleep is not normal. There was a recent survey that found certain people have a gene where they only need 4 hours sleep, but its not a common thing. Margret Thatcher quite famously was most likely one of these people.

2019-08-31 06:35:01 UTC

I guess the gene was never advantageous until modern lifestyles and lighting came into existence

2019-08-31 06:35:23 UTC

would be bloody handy now

2019-08-31 06:36:04 UTC

for those of us not running on 4 hours unless they take multiple 4 hour naps a day

2019-08-31 06:42:16 UTC

Nah, I'll routinely go 24+hrs on a 4hr rest

2019-08-31 06:42:30 UTC

It would be useful, but not nearly as useful as the uber productive society we live in today.

2019-08-31 06:42:49 UTC

In the past they merely would have made good guards around the camp/town

2019-08-31 06:44:30 UTC

The main limiting factor is, how productive can you be at night?

2019-08-31 06:44:42 UTC

Quite

2019-08-31 06:44:57 UTC

3,000 years ago?

2019-08-31 06:45:11 UTC

Today we have lightbulbs

2019-08-31 06:45:23 UTC

You can train night vision

2019-08-31 06:45:47 UTC

To read in the dark?

2019-08-31 06:45:53 UTC

Yep

2019-08-31 06:45:57 UTC

Bullshit

2019-08-31 06:46:01 UTC

I do

2019-08-31 06:46:09 UTC

It wouldn't be something reliable.

2019-08-31 06:46:21 UTC

moonlight for maybe 25-50% of the time

2019-08-31 06:46:28 UTC

And you'd strain your eyes. You could read a report, but reading a book.

2019-08-31 06:46:36 UTC

Moonlight...

2019-08-31 06:46:54 UTC

Go out and pitch a fucking tent, and read in moonlight.

2019-08-31 06:47:03 UTC

well I'm not suggesting reading

2019-08-31 06:47:05 UTC

Don't be so fucking silly

2019-08-31 06:47:15 UTC

there are better things to do at night

2019-08-31 06:47:21 UTC

with sufficient light from moon

2019-08-31 06:48:30 UTC

With how many people it requires to do useful activity's and the risk of harm or unjury its just not worth it.

2019-08-31 06:48:57 UTC

Maybe you could do it as a one off thing, but consisting finding a productive activity to do a night? Name 1

2019-08-31 06:48:57 UTC

no you have to go all out during the daylight because there isn't time to waste

2019-08-31 06:49:20 UTC

so if you have night time to reflect and improve strategy, bigger returns moving forward

2019-08-31 06:49:56 UTC

but that would be assuming your brain isn't doing similar things while you sleep

2019-08-31 06:50:14 UTC

🤦🏻

2019-08-31 06:50:27 UTC

waking hour optimizations might be inferior to what occurs in sleep

2019-08-31 06:51:45 UTC

also anything in the arts/sciences etc would be productive at night
