*aint no rest for the wicked*...
If you have a farm more than 25,000 acres, you are now being targeted. And the lower courts are straight up ignoring the constitution.
It has begun.
@Bird_Goes_Beep how many strikes do you have or do they only demonetise your videos
1 strike for copyright, 2 strikes for conduct (both bullshit and successfully appealed), but most videos demonetized.
Copyright is very petty, but I cannot appeal without giving my real name to the company who claimed it and I am not willing to do that.
Since the courts are ignoring the law ... how long before people start ignoring the courts ... no really really ignoring the courts ... no, normal people, I mean.
I just hope that other platforms will get big. I dont even fb or twitter,FB is the worst out of all of them.
Youtube with its drama lately will force content creators to move to new platforms
@Bird_Goes_Beep I've always said, youtube or any other streaming service should only allow you to comment or vote a video if you've watched it. They can really easily write a solution like this.
if they can't they can hire me.
@Derdecourt is not ignoring it. What will happen is,the court will get a figure which is "just" and the owner will have to take it. The constitution say expropriation can happen but a price must be agreed upon by buyer/seller else the court can intervene and set the price. Example state are currently willing to pay R20M bur farmer wants R200M,it will go to court and a price decided. The court can say R20m is the correct amount, since it does not need to be market related. Then farmer has no choice but to take it.
Gonzo, in this case court simply denied hearing the case.
The matter was never allowed to progress to court at all.
*declined hearing
@Bird_Goes_Beep no i dont believe it. The spokesperson said "apparently" as in she doesnt know the full story either i bet. Our constitution clearly states the law and the farmer has a right to his injuction and day in court with the state. The land expropriation law is very clear.
Yes. However if the courts decline to hear a case, it allows them to essentially bypass the entire issue.
They have likely appeared in court already and the court propably set a date,we just dont know about it. Did any of our journos contact akkerland boerdery for further comment? I only see the same message duplicate by all agencies.
You can see analogous cases in regards to application of crimen injuria laws against BLF, as well as some of the fraud cases against Malema and co.
which is why Afriforum are pushing ahead with private prosecutions.
Anyways, I'll see what shakes out. The optics here are not good. It really does look like the ANC are pushing ahead regardless.
The akkerland case will see its day in court and the court will set the price, that is what will happen.
I hope so. But the relevant department has denied their application for an injunction. Meaning that in the meantime, they face eviction regardless.
They are def going ahead with this crap
Sad times. Sad, sad times.
scary times
