@Gonzo @Sheamus I must say, as an American who has been following the situation in SA for a year or so (and I am of course by no means an expert), I must say that you both make fantastic points and arguments that I think are worth deep consideration. I would ask the gentleman who seems to be in favor of supporting the DA, albeit as a first step/temporary solution, that, lets say Afrikanners do, somehow, migrate/reproduce enmass in the Western Cape; I hear the ANC is attempting to flood the province with its members/supporters; even if this is not true, what's to say that mass amounts of blacks would not flood into the WC and simply takeover from the whites? Are invidivual provinces in SA allowed to have their own "immigration systems". Enjoying the discussion immensley fellows! 😃

It seems, judging from the tone of the callers, many black South Africans definitely view the DA as, at best, a "white-leaning" party. People who propose getting the DA into power as a type of temporary solution, or a first step to a path to self-determination for Afrikaners, how do you go about convincing blacks to vote for a party they see as inheritently as a "white party"?

@theeChristopher Oh i agree. That's not my idea. But there is actually a guy on here who advocates voting for the DA simply on the basis that they are the only viable party which can challenge the ANC and forseeably get them out of power. In his mind, getting rid of the ANC should be the number 1 objective at the moment. I'm just an observer from the US who supports the Afrikaner people. In my opinion, in theory, the "best solution" would be some kind of Volkstaat or self-determination for the Afrikaners. And I think many people on here probably agree with that. But the obvious problem and immediate question is: HOW is that going to happen? Is it a matter of actively campaigning for it; or is it, as some have more cynically suggested, just a matter of waiting until some kind of nation-wide anarchy/civil war occurs, and then take advantage of the chaos and pursue the creation of their own new country? Thoughts? 😃

@theeChristopher Well that is certainly kind of you to say. I wish there was more I could do. I started following the situation in SA a couple years ago. But have really become interested after I discovered Willem's channel, as well as the social media accounts of several other right wing Afrikaners. That guy definitely seems delusional and if he's on the fence, then he's definitely not an asset to the cause. So are you of the opinion that it's simply a matter of time before things go south? Obviously, it would be completely delusional to think that things could somehow improve for the country with its current trajectory. What are your thoughts on Ramaphosa's announcement? I saw some guy arguing that he's playing "4d chess" (like some say Trump does) and doesn't really believe in EWC, but is only trying to save the ANC from losing votes to the EFF. Others are already talking about forming militias and preparing to physically defend their land. I saw Renaldo's video earlier in which he seems to believe nothing serious will actually happen until after the 2019 elections. So i guess I would ask you: where do things actually stand with regard to the "land issue?" It is my understanding that the president has just announced what most people already saw coming. @KoninginTanja Greetings Tanja! Yes, it seems that with the ANC & EWC, the genie is out of the bottle and noone can put it back in. I have seen some of the videos of land grabs/occupations, but did not realize that it was literally happenning every day. It's good that, at least for now, SAPS is upholding the law. I did not realize that there was such division in the ANC itself. What are the factions? Is it basically the more radicals vs the more moderates? They definitely talk out of both sides of their mouth, commies through and through. I knew a little about the division within the DA from Ernst Roets interview on eNCA. Where are the white and coloured voters, who as you say have/are being alienated by the DA, going? FF+? COPE? I agree that it would be nice to COPE get more support, but they need to get a more secure base. Is it possible that there could be some sort of FF+/COPE alliance/coalition? The FF+ would attract an ever increasing amout of "red-pilled" Afrikaners and disgruntled DA voters, while COPE could appeal to more moderate coloured/black voters? I know very little about SA politics, so maybe something like this is completely out of the question, but it's just a thought that I had. I have been wanting to watch "Tainted Heroes". I'll try to watch it this weekend sometime! I've seen the trailer and it looks very well-done! In KwaZulu-Natal, you mention assassinations. Who is being assassinated and by whom? I saw where Kallie Kriel met with the Zulu king last week and they apparently discussed the "land issue" and EWC. That's certainly an interesting development! Anyone ever been to/know anything about Kleinfontein? I think they are like Orania but not as developed. From what I've seen, their opitcs also are not as good. They legit have a guarded entrance!

If Trump did say something about the situation, it would definitely give it more attention. If Trump offered some kind of refugee status for them, it would open up the can of worms regarding the elephent in the room (the type of people the US wants/needs immigrating).

I really wish Trump would say/do something. I mean, of course the media is going to come down on him like no tomrrow. But, isn't it true that the people who hate him, are not going to stop hatting him, no matter what he does/does not do; and the people who like/support him aren't going to stop doing so! I mean, look at all the scandals/crap that has been thrown at him, and his approval is still relatively high for a sitting president, and it's super high amongst republicans.

What if the Orania movement forms other groups or helps other groups to set up their own Orania-type settlements. Why must things be restricted to an "Orania or bust" mindset? Remember, the terms "left" and "right," in their original context, when used during the Estates-General at the outset of the Revolution francaise, were determined by your position relative to the monarchy. If you completely opposed the monarchy in favor of a republic, you sat on the left (Jacobins); those who favored either a constitutional monarchy/moderate republic, sat in the middle/center-left (Girondins); those who supported the king, sat on the right (Royalistes). So, in a certain sense, the original "right-wing" were conservatives/traditionalists who favored the monarchy over a republic/democracy dominated by the masses! Hence, many "conservatives" are, historically speaking, actually left-wing and just don't realize it!

@Sheamus of for sure! The context and even definition of terms definitely changes. I was just pointing out the historical context of the origins of the terms "left" and "right". I just think it's interesting that "right-wingers" today who support democracy or republicanism would be viewed as leftists or dare I even say liberals, in the original context of what definied "left" and "right" at the beginning of the French Revolution. The terms "left" and "right" today can include any number of things. I don't think there is a strict definition of right wing and left wing in the sense that, "if someone is right wing, they must believe this" or the same for the left. Do you think there are disqualifying factors for someone who identifies as right or left? For example, most people associate Richard Spencer with the far-right/alt-right whatever you want to call it; but he has some socialist-leaning positions such as universal healthcare? Does this, ipso facto, mean he's a leftist? I don't know, i think that's really open for discussion! 😃

@Sheamus haha! Well, in a modern context that defines left-right based on the amount of power government has, monarchy would be considered left wing. Although I think most people may still associate monarchy, even in a modern context, with the right because of the values that are often associated with monarchy, such as hierarchy, tradition, respect for authority that many right wingers also hold. If we applied modern political terms, for example, to the American Revolution, it was the conservative patriots fighting the liberal king. That sounds funny because I think we all know that, regardless of what one thinks of George III, he certainly was not a "liberal!" I think everyone who was involved in the American Revolution, would today be considered rightwing, to some degree. The king who represents discipline and tradition, and the patriots representing freedom and individual rights.
