Was kinist teaching widely adhered to in reformed churches in South Africa? The term kinism seems to be relatively recent though.
What is the Afrikaanse Protestantse Kerk view of this?

SA gun laws are causing chaos at the moment.

Im just asking on GOSA facebook group.

What is your source for info on componet regulations in SA?

Thanks Frederick

It seems the only way we can keep our guns is from a grassroots level. I know of only the Freedom Front Plus who spoke out against this outrageous gun law .

Hallo almal

"The left vs. right paradigm is one of the most destructive forces I have witnessed in my lifetime. It is a nearly fail-proof impediment to either side ever progressing in their understanding of right vs wrong, because all they can ever see/hear is โ€œyour guy did it tooโ€ or โ€œthe other side is hypocritical/ has a re-election agendaโ€, etc. Any appeal to reason, morality, or principles derived from natural law is met with the retort of โ€œthatโ€™s just what the left/right wants you to thinkโ€.

Refusing to look through the distorting prism of either left or right can free you from debates/concerns which are not germane to your calling and can provide 100x more mental/spiritual clarity for those issues which are.

I am convinced that one of the most effective self-improvement steps that an individual can make is to free themselves from this political paradigm. Remove yourself from the toxic echo chambers of media that exploit this left vs right dynamic. Only then can you begin to seek out or develop a moral philosophy and evaluate various issues in its light."

I think George Washington was on to something when he warned of the dangers of political parties.

Hallo @HoppeanSnake_ZA Can you understand afrikaans

@Malcolm the Seceder A Free Church of Scotland minister sent me this message a couple of years ago:

I gave the talk at the Free North last Sunday. The talk was called "Mandela and the Missionary Legacy". Essentially it was looking at how, at almost every major point of his life, Mandela had contact with the Gospel, and the missionary legacy. From his Methodist school, to Clarkbury, Headltown, Fort Hare, during his growing political awareness, even his commitment to armed struggle has an echo in the Presbyterian belief in the overthrow of tyrants, by force if necessary, as well as at Robben Island, to his later contact with Dr Michael Cassidy. The conclusion, however, is far from clear as to what spiritual difference this made upon him, though in terms of common grace it made a huge contribution to a more or less peaceful transition to a democratic South Africa.

Do you think the ANCs Peoples War and the Presbyterian belief in the overthrow of tyrants are the same?

@Willem Petzer wat do you think of the dorsland trekkers? We have manny of their heirs in Kleinmond

Minister Bheki Cele has just rejected my request for the SANDF to support the police in protecting the people of Zwelihle, Mount Pleasant, Hawston, Hermanus, Sandy Bay and the whole of Overstrand from the rule of lawless thugs.
They have usurped the role of the state and are refusing to allow any service to enter the area, not even medical, sanitation or refuse removal. Children are out of school. Services -- such as the library, swimming pool and recycling depot, are destroyed.
People are intimidated to join the roving bands of marauders, who are burning people's possessions and refusing to allow anyone out of the area to go to work.
When the role of the state is usurped by bandits, and the police are outnumbered, it is time to send in the SANDF, Minister Cele.
I am going to be joining DA Leader, Mmusi Maimane now in Manenberg to march in support of community calls for the SANDF to support police against the rule of gangs and thugs. We cannot allow SA to become a Thugocracy.

@Willem Petzer het jou video in Gereformeerde kampvuur Fb groep gepos kry toe die comment.

My antwoord.

Willem self is n Dopper student.

Dis my siening daarvan."

hoekom is jy verban?

Definitions are so important in political discussions

@Willem Petzer I worked with Carl van Wyk

@Willem Petzer "A policeman has been hacked by the rioters in Zwelihle. He's seriously injured in his head, rifle has been taken away from him by the group of violent mob. This strengthens our call for the Army to come and save our people. My heartfelt sympathy to the family of the policeman involved. I wish him speedy recovery. Best, Masizole Mnqasela, Member of Provincial Parliament"

It is a desperate situation there.

"I simply cannot stress the stress the unrest in Hermanus has caused. It's going to take years to generate enough profit to pay for the loss. That's the tragedy. Call me cold if you like. But the poor are better off with benefactors, than without. It astounds me how many tear down the former while professing to speak for the latter. In any event by my relatively knowledgeable opinion the current cost of unrest has cost over R1bn very conservatively."

I am just quoting from news sources on FB. I don't know if the army will help or not.

@Willem Petzer why not have a section on theology?

and economics

@Willem Petzer what do you think of this, Peter Hammond is apparently a kinist: https://www.reddit.com/r/Reformed/comments/89pi4a/kinism_as_heresy/

Perhaps we should have a #book channel

Peter Hammonds lack of use of the term Kinism, does not necessarily make him free from the doctrine of kinism. What do you make of this?

"I have discussed this matter with numerous pastors, theologians and authors throughout South Africa, in Europe and in America. Almost every one of them has agreed that the social and domestic consequences of interracial and inter-cultural marriages are disastrous. Most also agreed that they believed that such unions were unBiblical. However, only a few were willing to speak out openly against it, from the pulpit, or in counselling. There are a number of fine missions in Africa, experiencing Spiritual Revival, whose founders and directors have told me directly that they never have, and never will, marry people of different races, as they believe that to be sin.

I have many friends of all races. However, to marry across the colour line would be to me to betray my parents and all of our ancestors, and my children and future generations. Most importantly I believe it would be a betrayal to Almighty God, who has set the boundaries between nations."

It seems to me that he identifies ethnicity and culture. These are two separate things.

@$P!KY\/!k!NG would you describe yourself as a kinist or are you still working it out? Are you a professing Christian?

I have just returned home from my last meeting and will write a final post for the day.
After concerted police action throughout the night brought calm to Zwelihle and Hermanus, Minister Bheki Cele entered the area with various high ranking policemen, councillors, members of parliament and myself.
After an initial warm reception for the Minister, the crowd turned volatile and hostile in a flash when he said he would not order the release of Gcobani Ndzongana, the young man who is seen as the leader of the group called Zwelihle Renewal, which is believed to have ties with Black First Land First (BLF). This group has been responsible for attack people, destroying property and an arson-based reign of terror against anyone who disagrees with them.
After trying to restore calm, the Minister left, on roads strewn with rocks and rubble.
There have been millions of Rands of damage to infrastructure, and (worse) people have been attacked and totally traumatised.
It is an absolute miracle that we have not had another Marikana with the police firing on residents -- even when the police are under attack they have been restrained, to the point where a policeman has severe head injuries after being attacked by an axe-wielding man. The search for solutions within the law, continues. ^HZ

That is good that you read the Bible. I also prefer my ethnic group but I would not say it is a sin for a person to marry someone of a different ethnic group. That is a man made law.

@$P!KY\/!k!NG They are part of the ceremonial laws and now abrogated (besides a person from any ethnic group could become a Israelite and marry another Israelite in the old despensation ):

See Westminster Confession of Faith.

III. Beside this law, commonly called moral, God was pleased to give to the people of Israel, as a church under age, ceremonial laws, containing several typical ordinances, partly of worship, prefiguring Christ, His graces, actions, sufferings, and benefits;(d) and partly holding forth divers instructions of moral duties.(e) All which ceremonial laws are now abrogated, under the new testament.(f)

(d) Heb. 9 chap.; Heb. 10:1; Gal. 4:1, 2, 3; Col. 2:17.
(e) I Cor. 5:7; II Cor. 6:17; Jude ver. 23.
(f) Col. 2:14, 16, 17; Dan. 9:27; Eph. 2:15, 16.

@$P!KY\/!k!NG are you a Hebrew roots believer?

@$P!KY\/!k!NG everyone have a confession, some are just written down.

It is what you believe the bible teach arranged in a systematic way.

Truths logically relate to each other. That is what is a confession is about

Do you go to a church?
