Getting recognized and becoming known as the Nazi on campus @NateDahl76

2018-11-20 21:34:38 UTC

@NateDahl76 cameras, getting recognized, etc

2018-11-20 21:34:54 UTC

So they can’t really punish you?

2018-11-20 21:34:54 UTC

let's move this discussion to the Slav server

2018-11-20 21:35:10 UTC

I made some green bean casserole, who wants some?

2018-11-20 21:35:13 UTC

no they could absolutely kick you out

2018-11-20 21:35:17 UTC

@NateDahl76 If it's public, theoretically, no, they can't

2018-11-20 21:35:29 UTC

*theoretically*

2018-11-20 21:35:40 UTC

Couldn’t you sue?

2018-11-20 21:35:40 UTC

@Isabella Locke-MT if you could send some to VA, yes lol

2018-11-20 21:35:47 UTC

@NateDahl76 Yes, you could

if you’ve got a lawyer on deck and want to fight a long legal battle...

2018-11-20 21:36:46 UTC

Risk of lawsuit isn't good for the school either

2018-11-20 21:37:14 UTC

@NateDahl76 One day in the far future they will be sued for third party interference in a contract, but today is not that day. In the current year they will say something like 'your creating a hostile environment' and or use anarcho tyranny to make your continued attendance an awful and impractical experience.

2018-11-20 21:37:33 UTC

never underestimate a swarm of bureaucrats

2018-11-20 21:37:46 UTC

Whut oh!

Unfortunately, groups like FIRE and the ACLU won't provide lawyers for free speech on campus if it's IE. Even if you could win a lawsuit, it would be a hollow victory.

2018-11-20 21:38:55 UTC

ACLU defended Charlottesville

2018-11-20 21:38:59 UTC

Even FIRE won’t?

2018-11-20 21:39:04 UTC

That is concerning...

2018-11-20 21:39:16 UTC

ACLU has said they won't do that again post UTR

2018-11-20 21:39:25 UTC

@NateDahl76 somewhat unrelated but I’ll be in MD in a few weeks. We should do cool IE stuff

2018-11-20 21:40:12 UTC

I’ve heard ACLU won’t. FIRE though? I’m going to speak to them.

2018-11-20 21:40:21 UTC

If you do flyer your own campus, pick out locations in advance where cameras can't clearly see your face.

2018-11-20 21:41:17 UTC

Maybe I'm wrong (and I do like FIRE) but I think they're afraid of being seen as a legal aid to the alt-right

2018-11-20 21:43:10 UTC

only thing I’ve done on my campus is business cards in the parts of the library that I know don’t have cameras

2018-11-20 21:44:59 UTC

my school has been trying to find me for over a year lol

2018-11-20 21:45:48 UTC

send the president a postcard the day you graduate

2018-11-20 21:46:20 UTC

Absolutely, @Alex Kolchak - NY. Hit us up on slack

2018-11-20 21:46:53 UTC
2018-11-20 21:47:27 UTC

I will. IE Christmas/New Years party?

2018-11-20 21:53:15 UTC

@Jacob Although wearing different attire and a hat can go a long way, I think it's safer to have someone else flier your campus and then you can reciprocate by fliering theirs.

2018-11-20 21:57:00 UTC

It absolutely is

2018-11-20 21:57:33 UTC

I'm going to lay low for a while and poster other colleges since they're on the hunt for me

2018-11-20 21:58:11 UTC

You can also leave the business cards places

2018-11-20 21:58:14 UTC

That's safer

2018-11-20 21:58:18 UTC

Especially in a library

2018-11-20 21:58:34 UTC

Unfortunately I'm the only member who has time for posters usually, so it's kinda hard to get someone else to do it

2018-11-20 21:58:55 UTC

My school will just have to do without them for a bit
