it began as French people protesting against huge taxes on fuel that the Macron govt put in place after the Paris climate accords

but it escalated into a general anti-govt protest. Macron’s approval rating was something like 28% even before the riots

some right-wing motifs/imagery has been spotted, but it’s not really a right- or left-wing movement at the moment

although I’m sure there’s an undercurrent of “our county is turning to shit thanks to globalism/immigration”

it would be neat if GI could support this in some way, but it could backfire if they tried to rebrand this as their thing

It's smart GI doesnt get involved in protests outside of their control, there are too many factors that could go wrong. Uninvited spergs could be tied to them, or what of it becomes violent?
