Too many people on Twitter today are really enjoying this chance to feel sorry for themselves. It reminds me of what Patrick has said on Twitter and in this Discord which is that nothing gives us the right to exist and when I see all the people tearfully highly online it is clear that this is not exactly a race of sea raiders or even disciplinarians anymore but they will be shown how to win.

Honestly, it’s likely he just saw the polling data that blamed him for the shutdown and saw that it slightly lowered his approval rating. Trump hasn’t changed philosophically. He’s just trying to position himself better for the next try at the wall.
