I'd tune in, for sure. She could discuss movies, too.

2018-04-07 07:33:55 UTC

Curious, anyone here played Far Cry 5?

2018-04-07 07:33:59 UTC

I had alot of fun with it.

2018-04-07 07:34:34 UTC

Though I did the opposite. I made sure that the peggies called for reinforcements, every outpost.

2018-04-07 07:35:03 UTC

Though It felt wierd that the LMG handled like a SMG, with an insane magazine size.

It's been awhile...

2018-04-07 15:51:20 UTC

might not be over yet, 2 additional perps still being hunted, alledgedly

http://www.courant.com/news/connecticut/hc-news-target-criminal-background-job-applicants-0407-story.html

Apparently it's discrimination for a retail store to not want to hire a convicted theif.

2018-04-07 16:33:13 UTC

I mean, I'm all for giving people a second chance to earn a living, but come on.

2018-04-07 16:39:43 UTC

so what they are saying is that african-americans and latinos are all criminals... 😒

2018-04-07 16:39:48 UTC

Next a convicted pedophile should be allowed to work alone with children.

2018-04-07 16:41:45 UTC

how exactly does a policy of "we don't hire convicted criminals" target african americans and latinos?

2018-04-07 17:10:16 UTC

I mean, isn't it more racist of the person making that statement as they are the ones voicing the assumption that convicted criminals are going to be mostly black and Hispanic?

2018-04-07 17:11:13 UTC

It very clearly is, but then again, the people 'defending' blacks and hispanics are the actual racists in power nowadays.

2018-04-07 17:22:12 UTC

you would need to be able to make logical connections from a to b to come to that conclusion

2018-04-07 17:35:08 UTC

Gotta love how the "progressive" seem to think that the bar for societal standards needs to be lowered in order for minorities to meet them. It's almost like they believe people who belong to these minority groups are not able to meet these evidently high standards. This seems rather racist.

2018-04-07 17:39:18 UTC

the premise is inherently racist, yes.

2018-04-07 17:39:35 UTC

it is also the exact opposite of what should be done.

2018-04-07 17:40:13 UTC

you don't lower standards you improve the performance of those that don't meet them.

2018-04-07 17:41:42 UTC

Exactly

2018-04-07 17:43:15 UTC

It's like when they were letting women into the military. People wanting the strength requirement to be lowered and my only thought was "you are saying women are equally capable yet you are insisting that the standards should be lowered because women cannot meet them.... Which implies they are not equally capable."

2018-04-07 17:47:50 UTC

yep. i don't have a problem with women in the military (well... if anything i have a problem with military in general but that's not the point) but if they don't meet the standards than they should not be allowed in it

2018-04-07 17:48:18 UTC

in that case it is literally a question of life and death

2018-04-07 17:49:11 UTC

what helps against not getting a job because of your criminal record? not having a criminal record.

2018-04-07 17:49:47 UTC

Not having a criminal record is white privilege apparently

2018-04-07 17:50:32 UTC

yeah... white privilege...

2018-04-07 17:50:59 UTC

I can explain that

2018-04-07 17:51:24 UTC

I've debated with people concerning the whole 'police are killing black people' thing

2018-04-07 17:51:32 UTC

One of the issues constantly brought up

2018-04-07 17:51:42 UTC

is perceived 'overpolicing' of black communities.

2018-04-07 17:52:00 UTC

So the argument for not having a criminal record being white privilege

2018-04-07 17:52:15 UTC

would be that the police don't actually deal with white communities the same way they deal with Black communities

2018-04-07 17:52:32 UTC

the fallacy being that this fact is based on the race of the subject

2018-04-07 17:52:41 UTC

yeah... no.

2018-04-07 17:52:57 UTC

Best way to illustrate why this is wrong

2018-04-07 17:53:07 UTC

is to turn away from 'frameable' crimes

2018-04-07 17:53:15 UTC

and describe murder rates per community.

2018-04-07 17:54:15 UTC

At least from what I've found.

2018-04-07 17:54:55 UTC

i was raised by a single - physically handicapped - mom and i never got in trouble with police. granted the society is different here... but that would make my point...
