an organized mob of 40-60 teenagers bum-rushed a train at about 9pm, a train at a major tourist spot, beat the shit out of everyone on the train, stole all their shit, and ran away. The transit authority tried to cover this up until three days later a journalist busted them

they refused to release the security cam footage because it would inflame racial hatred or whatever

but, literally a platoon of teenagers armed with melee weapons

this isn't just one guy this was a planned and organized op

so I decided if the local government wasn't even going to _try_ and protect me from that level of violence, I don't want to live thre

incidentally, as far as I can tell, the _only_ thing that has meaningfully changed since trump was elected was the tax cut. 1) IQ is an accurate measure of general intelligence
2) general intelligence is genetic and largely fixed; you cant really change it through eg education
3) iq is normally distributed, along a bell curve
4) american society is extremely good at filtering people by IQ, via the university system
5) this has the effect of taking the smartest people from every community out of that community
6) those smart people end up all in the same high-IQ bubble where they're all happy but ignorant of the reality of the rest of society
7) the resulting brain drain on other communities ends up leaving those less intelligent folks who are left behind in a poverty trap
8) this creates a de-facto caste system
9) this is oppressive to the lower castes (aka dumb people)

I forget the specifics, but, basically, if you _identify as_ disabled, then any pet you own is by definition a support animal, and that animal is entitled to legal protections as a result

so for example I could say "I identify as diabled because I'm depressd" and then my employer is legally required to let me bring my cat to the office

this is why in california everyone just takes their dogs into the grocery stores and restuarants and stuff

The frequency with which people suggested it to me, combined with the mundanity of it all (nobody seemed to think it was a big deal and when I pointed out it was a felony one perosn scoffed and said "pfft this is california they don't care"), i'm now pretty convinced it's a widespread issue
