2017-08-10 00:03:15 UTC

2017-08-10 00:10:23 UTC

At least bring the brero

2017-08-10 00:25:17 UTC

My ascot is at the cleaners. Stained with Campari, such a shame. Does anyone have one to spare?

2017-08-10 00:35:46 UTC

If you wear that mask you're an arrested

2017-08-10 01:40:01 UTC

I wouldn't suggest dual wielding revolvers either.

2017-08-10 01:56:55 UTC

What would y'all recommend for melee?

2017-08-10 02:22:19 UTC

@IdentityIndiana Your fists and your brains

2017-08-10 02:22:46 UTC

@Tiwaz fair enough

2017-08-10 02:24:53 UTC

mines coming along

2017-08-10 02:33:48 UTC

2017-08-10 02:34:50 UTC

Obviously cover the police

2017-08-10 02:38:47 UTC

Those AC hats are slick

2017-08-10 02:58:02 UTC

I need black duct tape

2017-08-10 03:21:39 UTC

Staples has lots of colored and patterned duct tape. Likely have black.

2017-08-10 03:38:54 UTC

2 foot length of detachable broom stick affixed to inside of shield allowed?

2017-08-10 03:45:36 UTC

Dude who would have the answer to such a specific question?"

2017-08-10 03:47:10 UTC

our resident keyboard attorneys of course

2017-08-10 04:04:48 UTC

I think that may be considered concealed @Melektaus, but it doesn't look like batons are illegal unless spring loaded. I'm certainly no expert on Virginia laws pertaining to carrying sticks, though.

2017-08-10 04:06:59 UTC

i have a 16" expandable baton I'd love to carry, but seems the law is intentionally vague about what defines spring loaded

2017-08-10 04:07:50 UTC

Yeah, I wouldn't risk that without confirming with someone who knows more about their laws

2017-08-10 04:08:56 UTC

I'm wondering if a sound course of action - provided one isn't going to be part of an actual shield wall - is to fashion a shield small/light enough to prove an effective striking tool, should the need arise. Something smaller than a Norse round shield, or the typical kite and heater shields, but probably larger than a true buckler.

2017-08-10 04:10:12 UTC

Then there's no question of offensive intent from the standpoint of a third party. You're just the "unfortunate" soul whose shield was too small and had to improvise. 😉

2017-08-10 05:04:51 UTC

There's this nigger in our town that walks around with a shovel handle all the time. For years and years. I call him hoe handle nigger. Nobody says dick to him. LOL

2017-08-10 13:39:36 UTC

@Melektaus no collapsible batons

2017-08-10 15:40:28 UTC

not even open carry?

2017-08-10 15:45:08 UTC

Collapsible batons are viewed as an attack-only weapon. Carrying one makes you appear to be a combatant

2017-08-10 15:46:22 UTC

so just a shield with bolts sticking out of it and pepper spray then

2017-08-10 16:17:49 UTC

I would be wary of carrying expandable ASP batons FYI

2017-08-10 16:44:57 UTC

Asps. Very dangerous.

2017-08-10 20:42:18 UTC

So that's a no on the pocket snakes then?

2017-08-10 21:29:43 UTC

The expandable baton law is purposefully written so as to give the prosecutor and police great leeway in how it is interpreted. The application of the law depends on the officer, the situation, and the DA's decision. In other words there is no telling how it will play out until it does.

2017-08-10 22:06:29 UTC

Do not bring ASPs and expandible batons

2017-08-10 22:06:50 UTC

that is so subjective you can be fucked in a moment with it even if cop is on your side the city can push against it

2017-08-10 22:07:01 UTC

*ie they will)

2017-08-10 22:29:51 UTC

Does anyone need a shield?

2017-08-10 23:24:25 UTC

But it's ok to open carry a knife 🤔

2017-08-10 23:24:36 UTC

Makes sense.gif

2017-08-11 03:47:57 UTC

Please no one come dressed like a power ranger

2017-08-11 03:59:04 UTC

@Diethard this guy

2017-08-11 04:02:56 UTC

This minus the plate carrier.

2017-08-11 05:08:39 UTC

@RexLexus I just gave mine away but check <#321395356216590347>

2017-08-11 05:12:15 UTC

@James_Coney - LA

God, do I know that feel... they won't even show up when I invite them to my home.

2017-08-11 05:12:38 UTC

They didn't even send the shit in the mail they promised to prank me with

2017-08-11 06:09:42 UTC

Bring one

Besides rain protection they can be used as a weapon, you can hide your face from media if we walk past them, they can offer you or a wounded comrade shade, etc

2017-08-11 06:11:04 UTC

Definitely good for rain at least. I would also avoid wearing all this stuff right away if you bring it. We don't want to look like larping idiots in a field

2017-08-11 06:12:00 UTC

If things get out of hand a helmet/shield/goggles might come in handy but just standing around in that outfit will look pretty ridiculous imo

2017-08-11 06:30:41 UTC

I'll have my gloves on, because it takes some time to get them on properly and we may need to respond to a very sudden attack, but plan to have my goggles, mouthguard, et al. stowed in my hydration pack.

2017-08-11 06:31:50 UTC

Let the reds be seen as the ones who showed up looking to start a fight, as opposed to simply prepared for one

2017-08-11 13:38:12 UTC

Yup. We want more and more "regular" Americans to feel comfortable joining our ranks. And looking like autists does not advance that goal.

2017-08-11 13:38:29 UTC

Nothing against autists, just look normal!

2017-08-11 22:09:13 UTC

remember that newspapers can be your greatest ally

2017-08-11 22:09:34 UTC

toss a few pennies in there, roll it up and fold it and bam

2017-08-14 02:45:04 UTC

We need better OPTICS ! ! !
