nothing you said is particularly wrong but you do seem to have a incorrect underlying narrative

2020-02-20 21:56:21 UTC

islam expanded immensely at first - with the arabs

2020-02-20 21:56:38 UTC

most people didn't become muslims until centuries after, even in caliphatian lands

2020-02-20 21:56:57 UTC

they had to cope and say that zoroastrians were people of the book

2020-02-20 21:57:08 UTC

because iran was too zoroastrian and they couldn't kill them all

2020-02-20 21:58:42 UTC

why did you send me this map?

2020-02-20 21:58:46 UTC

I'm not saying the Islamic world stopped expanding after Muhammad

2020-02-20 21:58:56 UTC

I'm saying it was clearly an established thing

2020-02-20 21:58:59 UTC

i didn't think you were saying that

2020-02-20 21:59:10 UTC

Then why did you bother with that response

2020-02-20 21:59:16 UTC

i said that this religion was bullshit in the eyes of the outside world at this point in time

2020-02-20 21:59:27 UTC

Not really

2020-02-20 21:59:41 UTC

This was at the end of Muhammads life

2020-02-20 21:59:46 UTC

yes

2020-02-20 21:59:56 UTC

they had conquered west arabia and oman

2020-02-20 22:00:01 UTC

Yes

2020-02-20 22:00:07 UTC

these regions are shitholes now, let alone then

2020-02-20 22:00:20 UTC

the fucking ethiopians conquered arabia before them

2020-02-20 22:01:53 UTC

The ethiopians are based.

2020-02-20 22:01:57 UTC

Sure?

2020-02-20 22:02:07 UTC

I don't know how you think this is rare though

2020-02-20 22:03:43 UTC

the whole thing you tried to prove with the posting of that map is that islam was a powerful and legitimate religion at that point

2020-02-20 22:03:59 UTC

It unequivocally was

2020-02-20 22:04:06 UTC

it wasn't. it was still a fringe movement, especially for someone who isn't a middle easterner

2020-02-20 22:04:16 UTC

You assert this with no reason

2020-02-20 22:04:22 UTC

i gave you the reasons

2020-02-20 22:04:41 UTC

You did not, you said he conquered a shithole, the entire world was a shithole at that point

2020-02-20 22:04:52 UTC

no?

2020-02-20 22:05:02 UTC

Compared to today yes

2020-02-20 22:05:07 UTC

the desert was always poorer than everywhere that's... well, not desert. lol.

2020-02-20 22:05:14 UTC

read yazdegerd III's letter to umar

2020-02-20 22:05:34 UTC

civilized people literally regarded arabs as lizard eating sand dwelling shitskins

2020-02-20 22:06:47 UTC

This is the same as any civilization regarding any other civilization. This still isn't even on the level of anecdotal evidence, it's entirely speculation. When you say "I can't explain this" it's simple, he just converted.

2020-02-20 22:07:03 UTC

Every religion has this story

2020-02-20 22:07:10 UTC

yes, i can't explain why he converted

2020-02-20 22:07:12 UTC

what convinced him

2020-02-20 22:07:28 UTC

It was a charismatic movement

2020-02-20 22:07:36 UTC

Why did the entire area convert?

2020-02-20 22:07:43 UTC

which entire area?

2020-02-20 22:07:50 UTC

The Arabs

2020-02-20 22:08:16 UTC

i'd reckon either because of legitimate zelaoutry or political reasons

2020-02-20 22:08:34 UTC

muhammad had a sort of "kill all pagans policy"

2020-02-20 22:08:58 UTC

Mass convertion tends to lend credibility to charismatic, that's what I'm saying

2020-02-20 22:09:01 UTC

when he destroyed the idols in mecca and nothing bad happened i'm sure that left an impression on the pagan arabs

2020-02-20 22:09:09 UTC

If all of India converted, I'd possibly believe it

2020-02-20 22:09:13 UTC

sure, but this dude was a king in hindu india

2020-02-20 22:09:23 UTC

It was literally only him who converted

2020-02-20 22:09:28 UTC

if all of india converted i'd definitely believe it, lol

2020-02-20 22:09:36 UTC

India had such a large population, some others must have seen it no?

2020-02-20 22:09:54 UTC

his astronomers saw it supposedly

2020-02-20 22:10:09 UTC

and then when muslim traders came to malabar they explained what happened to the king

2020-02-20 22:10:17 UTC

so he went to visit muhammad for himself and converted

2020-02-20 22:10:58 UTC

That's not a minor thing, it was only the king and his close men according to the tradition. I'm asking for something substantial outside of the oral tradition

2020-02-20 22:12:02 UTC

idk man, it's pretty scary to me

2020-02-20 22:12:05 UTC

What could have happened is he heard of a great conqueror, on his way there someone explained that the moon split according to Muhammad, and all of this converted him.

2020-02-20 22:12:22 UTC

That story has the same backing as this

2020-02-20 22:12:30 UTC

>on his way there someone explained that the moon split according to Muhammad

2020-02-20 22:12:42 UTC

but if he didn't see him split it this would disprove islam, no?

2020-02-20 22:12:54 UTC

Why would it disprove Islam?

2020-02-20 22:13:04 UTC

The entire world didn't see it split

2020-02-20 22:13:28 UTC

If him not seeing it disproves it, the rest of the world must as well

2020-02-20 22:13:57 UTC

I'm pretty sure the moon split could somehow be explained astronomically or scientifically, and if not I'm pretty sure it's not as we think it was.

2020-02-20 22:14:11 UTC

Do we have any precise description of how the moon looked like btw?

2020-02-20 22:14:26 UTC

Some Muslims think it's allegorical

2020-02-20 22:14:42 UTC

It probably was not an eclipse imo

2020-02-20 22:14:59 UTC

It split in half completely iirc

2020-02-20 22:15:03 UTC

Bc I think there was only one eclipse during the time of his life

2020-02-20 22:15:37 UTC

And the Quran already used that one up earlier I believe

2020-02-20 22:16:00 UTC

Tribal

2020-02-20 22:16:10 UTC

People knew what an eclipse was and how it worked very well, it was definitely not an eclipse.

2020-02-20 22:16:21 UTC

I haven't done any research on the subject, I'm gonna look it up.

2020-02-20 22:17:28 UTC

I mean it doesn't need a scientific explanation

2020-02-20 22:17:42 UTC

As it's only been noted within Islamic tradition

2020-02-20 22:17:52 UTC

i've always found it scary how successful this religion is

2020-02-20 22:17:55 UTC

besides that point

2020-02-20 22:18:16 UTC

Christianity has more converts, Islam just has more babies

2020-02-20 22:18:19 UTC

Battle of yarmouk?

2020-02-20 22:18:32 UTC

what sort of christianity? @Eoppa

2020-02-20 22:18:37 UTC

En toto

2020-02-20 22:18:56 UTC

but you don't consider other churches to be christian

2020-02-20 22:19:03 UTC

Sure I do

2020-02-20 22:19:20 UTC

There is a difference between apostasy and heresy/schism

2020-02-20 22:19:29 UTC

you misunderstand me

2020-02-20 22:20:11 UTC

i pointed out the success of islam on the global stage as a sort of oddity that may indicate that it could be the correct faith

2020-02-20 22:20:11 UTC

But be careful lending credence to a church based on growth

2020-02-20 22:20:30 UTC

i don't *necessarily* do that

2020-02-20 22:20:34 UTC

but it's just odd

2020-02-20 22:20:47 UTC

i was talking to my ortho friend about this just a few moments ago

2020-02-20 22:20:55 UTC

This is what condemned the charismatic movement

2020-02-20 22:20:57 UTC

and he said that he had dreams of allah torturing him for rejecting the quran

2020-02-20 22:21:14 UTC

coincidentally, muslims believe allah sends revelations in dreams only

2020-02-20 22:21:34 UTC

seeing all of this in such short notice can have an effect on a soul

2020-02-20 22:21:36 UTC

Funny

2020-02-20 22:22:43 UTC

I had a dream that I was shaving a wall of potatoes today, but anyways Islam is demonic

2020-02-20 22:22:44 UTC

Religions always play this trick on people. *What if this religion is actually the true one? It has many followers. What if their God punishes me?*
And that's mainly why religions suck. They inspire fear. Especially during the Middle Ages.

2020-02-20 22:23:52 UTC

But I don't expect you to understand that.

2020-02-20 22:26:25 UTC

Back to the convo

2020-02-20 22:31:46 UTC

My opinion on it is there are a few options;
1) Muhammad/allah intended the miracle only for a few people. That's why most of the world missed such a big event.
2) It didn't happen, it's just a mistaken/malicious oral tradition.
3) It did happen, and the whole world missed it because they are dumb, and Arab muslims are smart.

2020-02-20 22:35:23 UTC

Islam is kinda based

2020-02-20 22:35:34 UTC

Muhammad was white

2020-02-20 22:35:46 UTC

2020-02-20 23:53:15 UTC

<@&588707615643795456> Daily Question ๐Ÿ”–

- Should Religions and Religious Texts change with a society? So if something viewed as disgusting or degenerate by God(s) yet the society you live in embraces it, should the religious texts and/or followers be allowed to change with it?

2020-02-20 23:53:29 UTC

No lol

2020-02-20 23:53:35 UTC

That would undermine the whole purpose of religion

2020-02-20 23:53:41 UTC

Wtf no

2020-02-20 23:54:05 UTC

That defeats the purpose of a religion having a moral code

2020-02-20 23:54:12 UTC

"yeah guys we claim that truth is eternal but we might change if low brained progressives demand we change"

2020-02-20 23:55:11 UTC

Society should base its morals off of christian values, christian values should not base the eternal moral law off of general public opinion

2020-02-20 23:55:20 UTC

What a fucking terrible question

2020-02-20 23:55:35 UTC

yeah i bet the person who asked that was a woman

2020-02-21 00:10:57 UTC

2020-02-21 00:38:18 UTC

How you apply the truths can change, but never, ever should the truth change

2020-02-21 01:21:57 UTC

No lmao

2020-02-21 01:22:06 UTC

You can't change truth

2020-02-21 07:12:31 UTC

No. Religious texts (Christianity) are holy. Any degenerate religions are not held to that standard. Yet they expect Christians to change with the times.

2020-02-21 09:51:13 UTC

Christianity is a degenerate religion, it teaches people to be meek, as "humble as a child" tells the poor to breed like rabbits. It's been anti science and reason for two thousand years

2020-02-21 09:58:29 UTC

ฮคhe term "degenerate" is a stupid term either way.

don't bother arguing with anti-theists, i blocked the fellow

2020-02-21 14:03:36 UTC

being an atheist is one thing, but anti-theism entails a specaial hatred of the Lord

2020-02-21 14:03:59 UTC

you can tell them whatever you want to, their hatred of good is too large for their view to change

2020-02-21 14:05:45 UTC

That's why I hate the New Atheism movement. Is has somewhat become of a cult justifying being againsn't the lord than anything else.

2020-02-21 14:06:15 UTC

Satanistsists

2020-02-21 16:13:01 UTC

Christianity is the only non-degenerate religion. Because it teaches love and to aerve others. It also is a double edged sword into hold your beliefs and remove blasphemy from presence.

It teaches love and service, duty and honor.
It also teaches that we are not to be weak, cowards or spineless, or homosexuals.

2020-02-21 16:18:54 UTC

^

2020-02-21 16:27:04 UTC

How does Christianity reverse weakness, cowardliness or homosexuality though?

2020-02-21 16:28:19 UTC

By providing an individual with a framework of knowledge, where they know what awaits them if they behave a certain way, and not behave a certain way

2020-02-21 16:29:40 UTC

Great way to reverse homosexuality.

2020-02-21 16:29:47 UTC

Hasn't worked that much though, has it?

2020-02-21 16:29:56 UTC

It has

2020-02-21 16:30:13 UTC

I've met a lot of people who've stopped being homosexual after seeking help in Christianity

2020-02-21 16:30:27 UTC

I know its anecdotal, but this validates that statement imo

2020-02-21 16:33:34 UTC

I have been talking with a Homosexual. He is slowly but surely seeking Christ and its something that I am proud of him for. Because the journey is always met with opposition.

2020-02-21 16:41:25 UTC

there's tons of homos who have repented before the glory of Christ

2020-02-21 16:41:51 UTC

though i don't think homosexuality is as much of a sin as we make it out to be

2020-02-21 16:42:05 UTC

the problem is how strongly it's pushed for the most part

2020-02-21 16:43:28 UTC

it wouldn't be pushed strongly if its byproducts and it itself wasn't a great sin to god

2020-02-21 16:44:03 UTC

watching porn and adultery could objectively be much greater sins than homosexuality

2020-02-21 16:44:13 UTC

homosexuality is like on the same level as fornication

2020-02-21 16:53:29 UTC

Sin is Sin to God.

Sins that cannot be Forgiven:
Blasphemying the Holy spirit
EX: Praying to God and not believing it will come to pass.
Denying Christ - Example Denying
EX: Are you a christian? *Holds Gun to Head.* "No." *Pulls trigger anyways.*
Cowardice

Sins that God Hates, but will forgive:
Adultery,
Murder
Homosexuality,
Sexual Immorality (Pornography)
Fornication (A bit different) IE Penetration and intercourse
Drunkeness
Theft
Lying
Slander
Bearing False Witness (A bit different then lying)

2020-02-21 16:54:27 UTC

But God will only forgive if you Repent IE. You admit you have a problem, and then never committing it again. You cannot say I'm a homosexual ask god for forgiveness and then continue having sex with your own gender.

2020-02-21 16:54:38 UTC

You have to turn away from it and never commit it again

2020-02-21 16:55:05 UTC

despair and denial of God can also be forgiven if you don't die in the meantime

2020-02-21 16:55:13 UTC

St Peter denied his Christianity

2020-02-21 16:55:30 UTC

st peter went to hell

2020-02-21 16:55:34 UTC

It's not unforgivable permanently of course

2020-02-21 16:55:38 UTC

cringe

2020-02-21 16:55:41 UTC
2020-02-21 16:55:56 UTC

@Eoppa you have to physically repent of these sins for them to be forgiven

2020-02-21 16:56:08 UTC

and stop engaging in them

2020-02-21 16:56:32 UTC

others can be forgiven without that, nobody expects you to die completely free of sin

2020-02-21 16:59:00 UTC

@Draลกko Correct

2020-02-21 17:00:22 UTC

If you are cleansed in the healing blood of Jesus Christ, even if you sinned on your death bed. You'll still enter heaven, just you won't get the same measure of treasure. God cannot see you. But there is also those Christians whom say that they are Christians and are not christians, CINO (Christian in Name Only) They are to be cast into the lake of fire.

2020-02-21 17:00:51 UTC

yeah there's a difference

2020-02-21 17:00:53 UTC

faith and works

2020-02-21 17:01:02 UTC

idk what your denom is but that's what i believe

2020-02-21 17:03:51 UTC

Catholicism doesn't allow its followers to get spiritually involved and is paganism lite, holds pope to god like status, aka heretics.

2020-02-21 17:03:58 UTC

2020-02-21 17:04:12 UTC

its not

2020-02-21 17:09:06 UTC

heresy simply

2020-02-21 17:09:21 UTC

sure keep telling urself that

2020-02-21 17:09:26 UTC

in the catholic church the pope is also infallible

2020-02-21 17:09:29 UTC

I am an Anglo-Catholic. I was recently ordained as a priest and confirmed by the Patriarch of the European Anglo Catholic church.
Biggest differences:

1.) Christ is the Eternal Pope
2.) Priests may marry, so they will not be tempted into sin.
3.) Priests do not live off the Church, they must suppor themselves and families while adhering to Church activities.
4.) Does not pray to Saints or Mary, You pray to the Lord Jesus Christ, then address the father as it says in Scripture.

This is why I believe Anglo Catholicism. However I do not believe only certain denominations go to heaven. Except Mormons and Jehova Witness.

how can any man in the flesh besides jesus be infallible

2020-02-21 17:09:49 UTC

I reject the Bishop of Rome.

2020-02-21 17:09:49 UTC

the pope is infallible when he speaks ex cathedra and the church is infallible dogmatically speaking

2020-02-21 17:10:42 UTC

but how does a mere man hold that status? is heresy

2020-02-21 17:10:49 UTC

It is heresy.

2020-02-21 17:11:08 UTC

jesus said he'd ensure that only truth comes out of ex cathedra statements

2020-02-21 17:11:21 UTC

WHere does he say that in Ex Cathredra?

The Pope supports disarmement of Christians, he has kissed men, he protects pedophiles by moving them away from Justice, he has signed a deal with the Muslims to create an alliance.

2020-02-21 17:13:18 UTC

I don't believe in Popes but Vactican 2 Sect Popes are blatant heretics. I still reject all forms of the pope if Jesus Christ isn't holding that office.

2020-02-21 17:14:59 UTC

I was confirmed Monday,

2020-02-21 17:16:32 UTC

catholic church was created when the roman empire realized that they couldnt control the mass conversions to Christianity, thus losing control on the empire, chose to adapt and accept the new religion, but forming it in such a way that people dont grow spiritually and are cut off from god... Catholicism is a method of controlling a population, as having a divine ruler (pope) is infallible, making anyone who doesnt follow a (heretic) and gives them "moral" rights to suppress them... simply.

2020-02-21 17:17:31 UTC

^ ^ ^

Hence why I am an Anglo-Catholic.

2020-02-21 17:17:42 UTC

pope is not infallible, papacy is wrong and immoral, just another way of controlling a population and corrupting a religion.

2020-02-21 17:18:08 UTC

hell xaxa

2020-02-21 17:18:13 UTC

B B BASED?

2020-02-21 17:18:15 UTC

I believe Anglo-Catholicism gives proper respect to Jesus Christ and as a High Church must.

2020-02-21 17:18:38 UTC

The Eucharist must be maintained, and its altars remain pure. Which is part of Anglo-Catholic Canon Law.

2020-02-21 17:21:54 UTC

@Ater Votum why do you hate Jesus?

2020-02-21 17:22:33 UTC
