What could have happened is he heard of a great conqueror, on his way there someone explained that the moon split according to Muhammad, and all of this converted him.

2020-02-20 22:12:22 UTC

That story has the same backing as this

2020-02-20 22:12:30 UTC

>on his way there someone explained that the moon split according to Muhammad

2020-02-20 22:12:42 UTC

but if he didn't see him split it this would disprove islam, no?

2020-02-20 22:12:54 UTC

Why would it disprove Islam?

2020-02-20 22:13:04 UTC

The entire world didn't see it split

2020-02-20 22:13:28 UTC

If him not seeing it disproves it, the rest of the world must as well

2020-02-20 22:13:57 UTC

I'm pretty sure the moon split could somehow be explained astronomically or scientifically, and if not I'm pretty sure it's not as we think it was.

2020-02-20 22:14:11 UTC

Do we have any precise description of how the moon looked like btw?

2020-02-20 22:14:26 UTC

Some Muslims think it's allegorical

2020-02-20 22:14:42 UTC

It probably was not an eclipse imo

2020-02-20 22:14:59 UTC

It split in half completely iirc

2020-02-20 22:15:03 UTC

Bc I think there was only one eclipse during the time of his life

2020-02-20 22:15:37 UTC

And the Quran already used that one up earlier I believe

2020-02-20 22:16:00 UTC

Tribal

2020-02-20 22:16:10 UTC

People knew what an eclipse was and how it worked very well, it was definitely not an eclipse.

2020-02-20 22:16:21 UTC

I haven't done any research on the subject, I'm gonna look it up.

2020-02-20 22:17:28 UTC

I mean it doesn't need a scientific explanation

2020-02-20 22:17:42 UTC

As it's only been noted within Islamic tradition

2020-02-20 22:17:52 UTC

i've always found it scary how successful this religion is

2020-02-20 22:17:55 UTC

besides that point

2020-02-20 22:18:16 UTC

Christianity has more converts, Islam just has more babies

2020-02-20 22:18:19 UTC

Battle of yarmouk?

2020-02-20 22:18:32 UTC

what sort of christianity? @Eoppa

2020-02-20 22:18:37 UTC

En toto

2020-02-20 22:18:56 UTC

but you don't consider other churches to be christian

2020-02-20 22:19:03 UTC

Sure I do

2020-02-20 22:19:20 UTC

There is a difference between apostasy and heresy/schism

2020-02-20 22:19:29 UTC

you misunderstand me

2020-02-20 22:20:11 UTC

i pointed out the success of islam on the global stage as a sort of oddity that may indicate that it could be the correct faith

2020-02-20 22:20:11 UTC

But be careful lending credence to a church based on growth

2020-02-20 22:20:30 UTC

i don't *necessarily* do that

2020-02-20 22:20:34 UTC

but it's just odd

2020-02-20 22:20:47 UTC

i was talking to my ortho friend about this just a few moments ago

2020-02-20 22:20:55 UTC

This is what condemned the charismatic movement

2020-02-20 22:20:57 UTC

and he said that he had dreams of allah torturing him for rejecting the quran

2020-02-20 22:21:14 UTC

coincidentally, muslims believe allah sends revelations in dreams only

2020-02-20 22:21:34 UTC

seeing all of this in such short notice can have an effect on a soul

2020-02-20 22:21:36 UTC

Funny

2020-02-20 22:22:43 UTC

I had a dream that I was shaving a wall of potatoes today, but anyways Islam is demonic

2020-02-20 22:22:44 UTC

Religions always play this trick on people. *What if this religion is actually the true one? It has many followers. What if their God punishes me?*
And that's mainly why religions suck. They inspire fear. Especially during the Middle Ages.
