Aliases/nicknames: the radio priest

Father Coughlin, born as Charles Edward Coughlin was born in Hamilton Ontario Canada on October 25th, 1891. Born to Irish Catholic parents, he would later become ordained to the priest hood in 1916 and would soon become assigned to the National shrine of the little flower in Detroit Michigan. It is around this time that Coughlin began broadcasting his sermons on the radio, unheard of at the time.

As the broadcasting of his sermons continued, Coughlin would also start to become more political during these radio broadcasts such as denouncing communism/marxism, calling out the federal reserve and addressing the major consequences and loss America as a whole has faced after involving itself in the European war (WW1) leading to him becoming increasingly popular to American listeners across the country.

Initially Coughlin was a vocal supporter of Franklin D. Roosevelt and his New Deal, but would later change his stance and openly criticize FDR for being too friendly to bankers. He would also become a avid supporter for workers rights as in 1934 he would establish a political organization called the National Union for social justice. The platform would call for monetary reforms, nationalization of major industries and railroads and protection of labor rights.

While the inevitable American involvement in the second world war was approaching, Coughlins radio broadcasts would only grow ever more political as he would show vocal support for some of the policies implemented in Germany, Italy and even Japan. He would also become more vocal towards Jewish elites and their control in modern day politics, going on as saying "they're not even American, these so-called republicans or democrats or whatnot". He would also go on to denounce FDR's public campaigns to get public support to get involved in the European theater of world war 2, saying that Americans do not want to get involved in a conflict irrelevant to the interests of the nation. However the Roosevelt administration acknowledged Father Coughlins reach and popularity among the American people and in 1939 they would take Coughlin off the air permanently using his antisemitism and criticism of his administration as evidence of his pro fascist stance and use it as a justification to silence him.

He would continue his later years as a perish pastor up until his retirement in 1966. He would pass away in Bloomfield hills MI in 1979 at the age of 88. He is buried in the holy sepulchre cemetery in Southfield Michigan.

When you look at the geopolitical atmosphere in the US and Europe, prior to WW2 is was a massive battle of ideology. Capitalism (cringe), Communism (also cringe) and 3rd position. The battle was if 3rd position would be able to live in this world. After Russia, a lot of other countries were facing Communist's uprisings and support, same goes for the Chad 3rd positionist. It took power in certain countries, the international cliques decided to use both Capitalism and Communism to fight the superior ideology.

3rd position was a revolution, and the powers in control wanted to quell it. Pretty interesting to think that this has been a revolution that has been going on for 100 years

I think the lesson to be learned from these historical discoveries @Benjamin MI is that our history has been subverted on multiple levels. The average dissident right person (including myself) begins their realization of this with things like "The Greatest Story Never Told" and other such media which illuminate how deceptive our history has been about WW2 and its aftermath, mainly in Europe. The next level of this subversion applies to the history of our very nation. We learn essentially nothing about the interwar period because it is riddled with genuine nationalist and truly American movements and ideologies popping up through our country. Some of these were euro-centric such as the Bund which basically was trying to create an enclave of the German nation within the midwest, which is ultimately ridiculous, but its much more "on the money" the anything mainstream today. We also learn very little about the political movements of the early 20th century which were, in essence, proto fascist in nature. If the Roosevelt leading the USA during the 30s and 40s was Teddy instead of Franklin then we would remember TDR as a fascist. Even the Socialist party led by Eugene Debs in the late 1800s (I'm remembering this from 10th grade AP US History so I might have some details wrong) was a Nationalist and a socialist. He was influenced by Marxist theory, but ultimately his party was very close to what we would call third positionist. Finally, even further back before the civil war Henry Clay championed something called the "American System" which was primarily based around nativist immigration policies (especially concentrated on banning chinese immigrants), Government subsidized or outright funded infrastructure projects, and protectionist trade policy.

The Fascist, third positionist, National Socialist, or whatever you want to call them views that we have are not a foreign concept to American history and political discourse. These ideas have influenced policy makers and their policies throughout our history, and it is only in the post WW2 period that our views have become adjacent to illegal. Our views are in direct continuity with a myriad of American ancestors and famous American events. The NSDAP did not copy every detail of Mussolini's government or ideology. Franco did not copy every detail of the Third Reich's government or ideology. Therefore, why should we larp as members of the NSDAP or SS when we are Americans? If anything, that would be in contradiction with our ideological and racial cousins. Let us not wrap ourselves in the clothes of those who we gain inspiration from, but let us instead be inspired yet wrap ourselves in the trappings and history of our own nation.\
