I'll be honest though

I'd like a job reporting in a smaller local environment where I can meet people and just learn stories and relay them to the public

I don't care about being big-name, there's politics up there

That sounds like something a guy with a go pro could do

I just went to school to learn the tricks, and good thing is I won't be in debt within a year or so

It wasn't a super expensive program and my family's been saving money here and there for ages

Honestly, more important than the skills?

the networking

the professors were a combo of ex and current well-respected journos from local and provincial levels

and a lot of my classmates work for local stations too, like I do now

I can ring up my old program director anytime, and she always knows what's going on around town

I consider that more important than the lessons themselves TBH, most you can learn as you go
