HE WENT TO JARED!
"wow howd your husband get so redpilled?"
"he went to jared"
heh
Not bad, new guy, not bad.
@Ald As far as each region having a pagan community, that is definitely something I would like to see happen eventually
I've been wanting to start something locally for a long time but finding people isn't easy
@Argument of Perigee "_Who's that new guy? He got game._"
Mad game
Wow! Uh-Is-Is that the new guy?! He's funny.
looks like gab is dead guys
They're about to lose their DNS host, it seems. So, ya
only place we can have free speech is gone
They have until tomorrow at 6pm MST to find a new host
they probably won't
_"GetOnGab @ 127.0.0.1 - where you don't need a DNS entry, just an IP address."_ RIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIP
Gab was doing pretty well
A ton of Brazilians got on it
They got like $10 million in crowdfunding, or somesuch. They have tons of money
i sure hope that 10 million can do something.
is a web host that difficult to start up? with that cash and talent, i don't see why they couldn't just be a host themselves
Yes, a DNS service is ungodly expensive.
$10M expensive? 🤔
triple, minimum.
You basically need to buy an entire backbone's worth of infrastructure
Closer to 10x @Asatru Artist - MD
oof
its pretty disheartening that these megacorps can destroy free speech like this
The "guys" who got in the game in the early 90's are running a serious racket on DNS hosting across the internet backbone(s). You have to duplicate everything they've done both electronically and physically with hardlines to get it all to "work" together.
in a blink of an eye
@Phillip Wiglesworth - FL additionally new DNS services cannot be created, due to recent legistlation, if memory serves.
Only the purchase and transfer of existing DNS registrars, no?
I don't even want to try to imagine it. I just know how much of an issue it was back then when we complained about it, and the predictions obviously came true.
@Papa Pizzagate “if you don’t like the rules, just create your own platform”
RIP freedom.
There's tens of thousands of servers in just the USA alone that redirect domain names to a set few DNS hosts, which then redirect IP traffic to IP's based on what those domain names are registered to. Creating a new DNS host would be 100x the daunting task that "Y2K" created...for those of you familiar with that insanity we dealt with in the late 90's
perhaps 10000x
