If he does know I don't see why you shouldn't just straight up ask, but if you're afraid he might me hostile to GI/IE I'd suggest just bringing up a GI action, see how he reacts and take it form there

Highly unlikely anything will happen to them. The IRS is overstretched and underfunded as it is (thank god for Trump). They won’t go after internet sluts when there are much bigger fish.

I've gotten a "you gonna get audited, don't do this again" letter from the IRS

it was only a couple months after I filed my taxes

and that was for something _way_ less egregious than (basically) tax evasion
