@Sam Southern - TN well, yes and no. Good if they shake things up, but revolutions are generally much worse than whatever worst-case scenario we have in our heads
I’m not sure what little detail you’re debating here, the fact that it’s not part of the Italian state or are you saying that they aren’t ethnically the same people lmao
it’s all well and good until electricity and water services go down...
Is there any compelling reason why they couldn't just elect someone else, or is France doing what Ukraine did?
@Alex Kolchak - NY it's all about precedent imo. if yellow vests turns into something resembling a true revolution, it sets a firm precedent for Europe as a legitimate path to overthrowing their elites.
Ukraine violently overthrew a democratically elected president when they could have just waiting like a year and voted him out lmao
Is France making the same mistake or is there a reason behind this?
muh democracy, good for them if they're moving away from it.
@Jacob French elections are every 5 years, and the election was in 2017. So they’ve got 4 more years of Macron, barring an unconventional scenario, so to speak
*3 years
@Sam Southern - TN oh I'm not saying I support democracy
I'm just saying it's better to vote someone out if the option is there
not if in 5 years the elites force one of their own into power again
I’m not sure I’d ever trust a European election
it's better to end that system and start fresh
well, that's why I said "if the option is there"
the option was there 2 years ago
elites forced one of their own into power
I mean if they forced one of their own in then it wasn't much of an option
@Lawrence of Eurabia well seeing as we can't even trust our own elections lol
well, no, Macron wasn’t forced in. At the time, his platform looked like a “respectable” alternative to le Pen, but still anti-establishment
one could have said the same about obama lol
amazing how quickly these things change.. or, more simply, Macron was a snake from the beginning
he wasn't "forced in," but it was sure as hell set up for him
oh in terms of favorable media coverage and such, of course
Took no time at all lmao
If he misled his way into victory than revolting (peacefully and legally) is acceptable
outstanding @NateDahl76
that reminds me, I gotta go smash that mf like button and post some comments/invite some people to apply on Twitter
there's no such thing as a peaceful and legal revolt afaik. the french sure as hell ain't being peaceful or legal lol
@NateDahl76 Was that just some guy in our replies?
Yup
@Jacob all the accords he signed into place are bankrupting the working class
already got one person to apply irl, and they were accepted. Working on another friend now
The European elections are a complete joke in Western Europe for the most part. Rare exceptions. The ruling liberal leftists don't want to ever lose their grip on power in the Western States.
Not saying I support a true revolution, by the way, but comparing the two on which will see results, in the eyes of a native European, it's hard not to feel overwhelmed.
Usually I have to answer questions and put pressure on. This one took zero effort

It was inevitable there'd be something like this in my opinion since they decided to live in a globalist fantasy world
