2020-05-03 20:12:27 UTC

@Crye_Salesman thank you man I’ll check that out too

2020-05-03 21:34:50 UTC

2020-05-04 00:56:22 UTC

Red Green show is a great inspiration for large off grid projects

2020-05-05 00:26:53 UTC

I watch a lot of Corporal's Corner.

2020-05-05 03:01:32 UTC

Red Green is to give you inspiration and let you figure out how to do it better

2020-05-05 03:02:39 UTC

Just like how your textbooks don't show you everything, you gotta get the last bit by yourself

2020-05-06 01:12:34 UTC

@Sparrow I love Cpls Corner. He just has a way of making everything simple and easy.

2020-05-06 01:12:53 UTC

Oh yeah for sure. And he just enjoys his time out there, it's great.

2020-05-06 13:16:45 UTC

https://youtu.be/rcihSMpsDn0 check out this guys videos, he shows how to make several different types of shelters. Figured it'd be worth a look for new ideas

2020-05-06 20:28:35 UTC

Can offer anyone bushcraft survival in the NC area, let me know

2020-05-07 22:19:25 UTC

almost read it as full sniper shelter for a sec

2020-05-07 23:40:14 UTC

I mean, you could pretty easily retool it as one

2020-05-07 23:40:33 UTC

But yeah, that guy has some great stuff

2020-05-09 07:13:01 UTC

A good way to keep mud and stuff out of your boots and protect your legs are puttees. They're pretty cheap and are pretty darn good in almost every circumstance

2020-05-13 14:05:49 UTC

Anyone used a life straw?

2020-05-13 14:22:51 UTC

Where’d you buy yours man?

2020-05-13 14:31:31 UTC

> Anyone used a life straw?
@GRANITE I have. They work very well for what they do. I used it when I was riding motorcycles in Madagascar, and in Cali, Idaho, Montana, Wyoming and Colorado rivers.

2020-05-13 14:33:15 UTC

Awesome. Yea I got a 3 pack to have in the GO bags.

2020-05-13 16:55:29 UTC

I haven't used mine yet, but picked one up

2020-05-13 16:59:19 UTC

The Sawyer Mini filters quite a bit more water than the LifeStraw, I would recommend the Sawyer

2020-05-17 20:42:18 UTC

I see a lot about shelter and projects and such, but how many of you are intimately familiar with edible plants, fungi, and animals within your region?

2020-05-18 17:07:49 UTC

@TwiddleDick Just fried a bunch of frogs and bluegill the other night. Haven't really looked for morels though.

2020-05-18 17:08:48 UTC

Oh yeah, spring turkey season tasted good too. lmao

2020-05-18 17:09:03 UTC

Green briar’s young shoots are also edible. Sand plums and wild blackberries are also around

2020-05-18 17:10:36 UTC

Yeah I got to get me some blackberries. I'm growing my own stuff though.

2020-05-18 17:11:57 UTC

Actually I should just plant some blackberry bushes instead of looking around for them.

2020-05-18 18:20:44 UTC

I need to cook spme more bluegill

2020-05-18 18:20:51 UTC

They are pretty tasty

2020-05-19 03:37:55 UTC

Ye

2020-05-20 04:03:09 UTC

@goofy_murican I never thought I'd want/need them... but I think I'm gonna get some puttees just as a fashion statement... hahaha

2020-05-20 04:05:06 UTC

hell yeah bro

2020-05-20 04:05:29 UTC

they are such an under rated piece of kit

2020-05-20 04:10:35 UTC

And now I need a throwback uniform to WWI

2020-05-20 04:10:42 UTC

I want like a modernized version....
