2018-10-01 02:03:56 UTC

Okay am I going insane? Iโ€™m painting my new condo which I swore was an ugly green and yet the left over paint can is apparently a grey color

2018-10-01 02:04:19 UTC

Color blond?

2018-10-01 02:04:35 UTC

Blind?

2018-10-01 02:04:43 UTC

My parentโ€™s kitchen which I thought was a shade of green is also a type of light grey

2018-10-01 02:05:09 UTC

Ut oh. No Air Force for you.

2018-10-01 02:05:55 UTC

But seriously, there are way too many colors and shades these days. Plus the light hits them and changes them.

2018-10-01 02:06:08 UTC

Aw that sucks. I guess I wonโ€™t get to sit on my ass and call myself a Vet

2018-10-01 02:06:09 UTC

@Wood-Ape - OK/MN Queen Ann telling it how it is.

2018-10-01 02:06:52 UTC

@Deleted User true that. Iโ€™m choosing a white with a slight blue undertone. I wonโ€™t it wonโ€™t look like a Lime green when I get everything painted up

2018-10-01 02:09:31 UTC

Lime green such as this is sickening

2018-10-01 02:10:10 UTC

Goals ^

2018-10-01 02:10:12 UTC

looks comfy tbh fam

2018-10-01 02:10:23 UTC

A little too green for my tastes

2018-10-01 02:12:12 UTC

Yeah dude. Even my lady brain canโ€™t see the difference. Thatโ€™s why our ancestors just made wood cabins.

2018-10-01 02:16:06 UTC

it is a bit green, just enough to be a semi nasty tint, but thats a comfy setup

2018-10-01 02:16:09 UTC

Donโ€™t forget the gorgeous lime green marble palaces of Rome or the dark olive colored stone castles of the Anglo saxons

2018-10-01 02:18:32 UTC

@Wotan Klan-GA The green pill

2018-10-01 02:19:51 UTC

Is ICE hiring? I thought they were but when you go to their website it has a link to usajobs.gov and there are no listings for me except for GS-13 and up which is experienced management

2018-10-01 02:20:07 UTC

Anyone know if I'm doing something wrong here? There are no other filters on my search.

2018-10-01 02:21:12 UTC

@Logan My experience with USA jobs is for the Forest Service, Fish & Wildlife, BLM (no, not that one, bureau of land mgmt), and it is a nightmare. Seven moth response time, IF THAT

2018-10-01 02:21:56 UTC

@Wood-Ape - OK/MN yikes. Customs and Border Patrol was on that site and they set everything up instantly

2018-10-01 02:22:37 UTC

I still get notifications from firefighting applications I made in 2016 and 2017 telling me that positions have been closed/application rejected

2018-10-01 02:22:42 UTC

very slow

2018-10-01 02:22:58 UTC

Yeah, it really pays to have an in with whatever agency you're looking at.

2018-10-01 02:23:55 UTC

@Logan that is a maze. Itโ€™s a shit test, basically.

2018-10-01 02:24:07 UTC

Just get through it.

2018-10-01 02:24:28 UTC

agencies like those recruit hard for military personnel... always seeing them around here and FB ads

2018-10-01 02:25:18 UTC

@Deleted User someday I may get firefighter and emt trained, spending thousands of dollars and months of my full-time attention but that day is not today. Every other job seems to be a shit test as well. I'll keep applying but I won't expect much

2018-10-01 02:25:18 UTC

@lonewolf19d This is very true. Veterans do get a leg up. And so do VISTA, which is a joke, because VISTA is the shittiest and least hard core of AmeriCorps programs.

2018-10-01 02:25:24 UTC

If we are talking about jobs, Iโ€™m thinking about finishing school and going into office work that isnโ€™t coding related. I live in the center of the city and Iโ€™m geared up to LARP as an Urbanite for a while.

2018-10-01 02:25:27 UTC

State conservation corps don't get preferential, but VISTA do.

2018-10-01 02:25:29 UTC

Whatโ€™s a good major?

2018-10-01 02:26:02 UTC

@Logan that seems to be the case all around. Sadly.

2018-10-01 02:26:44 UTC

@Wotan Klan-GA I've heard stats is good. I got a stats degree but I never did the actuarial exams. Those of my friends who did the actuarial exams are making six figures a few years down the road

2018-10-01 02:26:51 UTC

So I am writing a paper for school, and citing Robert Putnam. It so happens he is trying to walk back his points about diversity in Bowling Alone. Turns out, he married a Jew and converted.

2018-10-01 02:27:03 UTC

@Wotan Klan-GA no joke: HR.

2018-10-01 02:27:24 UTC

lol a white advocate in HR

2018-10-01 02:27:36 UTC

Thatโ€™s a real game changer

2018-10-01 02:27:59 UTC

@Logan stats is it! So much money. Data science.

2018-10-01 02:28:18 UTC

@Logan I get a lot of advertisements to work for ICE

2018-10-01 02:29:17 UTC

@Deleted User that sounds right up my alley. Itโ€™s nice, straightforward busy work

2018-10-01 02:29:23 UTC

Seriously look at indeed or glass door. HR, data science are it. Just have to deal with all your favorite characters.

2018-10-01 02:29:49 UTC

i'm currently transitioning out of the military and i dont think i would like to be in any sort of job that is structured anywhere near the military... planning on taking advantage of apprenticeships paid for by the army, leaning towards hvac/sheet metal/welding and get a chance to choose where i work

2018-10-01 02:29:58 UTC

You werenโ€™t trolling about HR? Isnโ€™t that diversity industry crap?

2018-10-01 02:30:03 UTC
2018-10-01 02:30:27 UTC

I really regret going to college

2018-10-01 02:30:27 UTC

No Iโ€™m not trolling you. Itโ€™s good money.

2018-10-01 02:31:04 UTC

Thereโ€™s footage of me at CVille...like plenty of it. Think itโ€™d be an issue?

2018-10-01 02:31:31 UTC

Yes. And youโ€™re a white dood

2018-10-01 02:32:11 UTC

The government is utterly inept and therefore waffles between having too many people and not enough. Right now ICE should need people, nonetheless it will be a long process with multiple steps.

2018-10-01 02:32:18 UTC

Some of us need to get together and start a political firm.

2018-10-01 02:32:38 UTC

@Wotan Klan-GA "that guy looks nothing like me. Do I look fat or something?"

2018-10-01 02:32:43 UTC

that's what I would say

2018-10-01 02:32:45 UTC

Luckily I never got a hard doxx and I donโ€™t look the same

2018-10-01 02:32:55 UTC

My advice to younger people would be not to go to college unless you can absolutely afford it

2018-10-01 02:32:58 UTC

@Jacob where do you see these alleged advertisements?

2018-10-01 02:33:13 UTC

Instagram lol

2018-10-01 02:33:26 UTC

I've gotten FBI advertisement, too. But mostly ICE.

2018-10-01 02:33:45 UTC

@Jacob Same

2018-10-01 02:33:48 UTC

God, I could do so much cool stuff if I wasn't in college

2018-10-01 02:33:54 UTC

@Wotan Klan-GA Sincerely deny everything and feign shock. You were never there.

2018-10-01 02:33:58 UTC

I have no idea how people say it's the best time of your life

2018-10-01 02:34:00 UTC

I hate it so much

2018-10-01 02:34:24 UTC

4 years of living in poverty so you can *maybe* boost your income later in life, that you could have boosted an easier way anyway

2018-10-01 02:34:32 UTC

Iโ€™m a debt slave because of college.

2018-10-01 02:35:14 UTC

there are actual programs for transitioning military personnel that allows u to start early with the agency before your military contract is up.... but i dunno ab the FBI

2018-10-01 02:35:16 UTC

Luckily the antics of J-Left types is quickly eroding any 'prestige' expensive colleges once had.

2018-10-01 02:36:01 UTC

@lonewolf19d Many conservation corps wildland fire programs are explicitly veteran. Meant to move you from the service to a land management agency via AmeriCorps.

2018-10-01 02:36:41 UTC

@Wood-Ape - OK/MN My good buddy is in one right now

2018-10-01 02:36:43 UTC

@Jacob Instagram: โ€œICE liked your photo!โ€

2018-10-01 02:37:16 UTC

College is a massive scam. The problem with those statistics saying that you earn more after college, is that there's no evidence that college is causing them to earn more. A simpler explanation is that they are correlated, since smart people are more likely to graduate college.

2018-10-01 02:37:23 UTC

They could have made that money without college.

2018-10-01 02:37:32 UTC

@Wood-Ape - OK/MN Chose it just to get the hell away from our leadership here, lol... i dont blame him either... sounds like fun work doing all the fire stuff

2018-10-01 02:37:52 UTC

I've always planned to go to college but I'm not sure now, especially since I'm close to going.. I kinda wanna go for the experience but idk

2018-10-01 02:37:52 UTC

@Jacob Sort of like Survivor's bias in a way

2018-10-01 02:38:18 UTC

Yes, exactly that

2018-10-01 02:38:20 UTC

I know online classes would work though also band be cheaper but it's not thte same

2018-10-01 02:38:24 UTC

Idk, I think if you have a plan and an actual passion, college works well. Also depending on where you live.

2018-10-01 02:38:36 UTC

@Felix if you do something like wind turbine tech you can make good money with minimal cost.

2018-10-01 02:39:09 UTC

That's interesting ๐Ÿค”

2018-10-01 02:39:12 UTC

Underwater welding is 6figure too.

2018-10-01 02:39:16 UTC

It's survivorship bias, because the dumbasses just drop out. So, ya, obviously the ones that are left are gonna make big money, because they're big brain nibbas.

2018-10-01 02:39:23 UTC

I'm a decent welder

2018-10-01 02:39:33 UTC

Wind is a good bet. Solar is more dependent on rare minerals and therefore likely to fluctuate

2018-10-01 02:39:44 UTC

I live in a place where school is incredibly cheap. You can get a degree from a 2 yr Uni for very cheap and instantly transferred to the nearby State school that is also very cheap and many times grt students hired straight out of graduation

2018-10-01 02:39:53 UTC

There are schools for underwater welding @Felix In Tampa I think.

2018-10-01 02:40:24 UTC

Solar install is like a yob that beans can undercut.

2018-10-01 02:40:40 UTC

I've thought about solar power area or being a linemen

2018-10-01 02:40:47 UTC

Wind turbine takes ballz

2018-10-01 02:40:57 UTC

Lineman is excellent money.

2018-10-01 02:41:00 UTC

I bet man..

2018-10-01 02:41:25 UTC

And honestly, even if college *did* cause you to make more money, would it be worth it? Increases in income make a much bigger difference at lower starting incomes. Is it really worth living in poverty for 4 years just so you can make $70,000 instead of $60,000?

2018-10-01 02:41:31 UTC

@Wotan Klan-GA I have a straight white male rural guy for HR now, its so much nicer to have after the gay boomer followed by the trans rights activist

2018-10-01 02:41:38 UTC

I kinda want a job where I'm not coupped up in a office..

2018-10-01 02:41:43 UTC

same

2018-10-01 02:41:51 UTC

I probably shouldn't have chosen computer science

2018-10-01 02:42:02 UTC
2018-10-01 02:42:03 UTC

The more dangerous, the more money.
