2018-06-05 15:09:55 UTC

didnt he also say he wouldnt do it cuz he did nothing wrong?

2018-06-05 15:10:50 UTC

we only just reached this phase? didn't we reach it the moment he got elected?

2018-06-05 15:11:54 UTC

Reminder that the MSM was talking about Hillary pardoning herself if she got elected.

2018-06-05 15:12:30 UTC

oh shit really?

2018-06-05 15:12:30 UTC

didn't we technically reach it the moment when the position was made?

2018-06-05 15:12:52 UTC

naw, because he wasn't powerful enough to really be considered a king

2018-06-05 15:12:57 UTC

before that, he was just mad

2018-06-05 15:13:38 UTC

no i mean like

2018-06-05 15:13:45 UTC

didn't previous presidents have that right too?

2018-06-05 15:14:07 UTC

idk if they do actually have that right.

2018-06-05 15:14:33 UTC

glorious

2018-06-05 15:15:37 UTC

Phillip DeFranco even said that it was legal to for example

The president taking a leave of absence, making the VP acting president, they could then pardon the original president
And promote them back to active duty

2018-06-05 15:16:35 UTC

this makes me believe we should have the runner up for president, become the VP. i wonder how interesting that would make things

2018-06-05 15:16:51 UTC

this part

2018-06-05 15:17:38 UTC

would grind out political system to a halt

2018-06-05 15:17:55 UTC

>black guy supporting second amendment rights
>left.exe has stopped working

2018-06-05 15:18:25 UTC

>left.exe now starts yelling racist names at a black person

2018-06-05 15:18:36 UTC

but yeah it seems there are loopholes inside the government that need to be patched up, which i dont think is a bad thing, as much as i like trump i think presidents have to much power currently

2018-06-05 15:19:01 UTC

which is funny, because they really don't have that much power.

2018-06-05 15:19:17 UTC

most of their stuff can be undone by another part of the government

2018-06-05 15:19:25 UTC

If Trump has so much power, why is like every blue state in open revolt to his travel ban, which was an executive ORDER

2018-06-05 15:20:24 UTC

and obamacare still around
Why isnt his desired DACA deal pushed etc

Presidents might have a lot of power,

But not nearly enough as people want to believe

2018-06-05 15:20:40 UTC

and yes, fix loopholes

2018-06-05 15:20:56 UTC

in fact, just crack government open, so much things arent essential in there

2018-06-05 15:21:34 UTC

part of thinking that the president has to much power is that the federal governemnt has to much power

2018-06-05 15:21:46 UTC

well by that reasoning, you are right

2018-06-05 15:21:47 UTC

i'm still toying with the idea of making the VP the person who got second in the election.

2018-06-05 15:22:16 UTC

make the government fight itself keeps it from fighting the people

2018-06-05 15:22:20 UTC

so the opposing party?

2018-06-05 15:22:33 UTC

basically

2018-06-05 15:22:41 UTC

i mean, an opposing party

2018-06-05 15:22:54 UTC

since they would be in direction competition.

2018-06-05 15:23:04 UTC

but i don't know about how much power the VP has

2018-06-05 15:23:11 UTC

so might not be the best idea

2018-06-05 15:23:19 UTC

If both parties were honorable, i could find something in that,

But as they are,
You'd get like "President Madness"

A fatal disease in which a president commits suicide by shooting themselves in the back of the head several times

2018-06-05 15:23:42 UTC

cuz both parties would kill the president to seize power

2018-06-05 15:23:58 UTC

and literally start like world war 3?

2018-06-05 15:24:25 UTC

nah, just a lot of dead presidents

2018-06-05 15:24:37 UTC

we'd have the 1000th POTUS by 2025

2018-06-05 15:24:58 UTC

like that futurama episode you know? with the water people

2018-06-05 15:25:04 UTC

Whoever kills the emperor becomes the new emperor

2018-06-05 15:25:14 UTC

and their average reign is two weeks

2018-06-05 15:25:21 UTC

i think obama actually used his power more than trump, while trump is doing a lot of executive orders its my opinion that executive orders should only be used in order for the government to react quickly to changes in the world but when obama did that "gay marrage" thing thats an example of an executive order being used to adress a social issue that should be handled by a greater society and doesent require the quick action of a president. any time power is used this way by a president is when i have issue

2018-06-05 15:25:26 UTC

that better be a metaphorical death, because here, presidents don't die in office often, and the american people tend to get very upset. doubly so if its believed the opposing party was believed to be at fault

2018-06-05 15:25:38 UTC

@Arch-Fiend give it time, obama had 8 years.

2018-06-05 15:25:58 UTC

you have to read what i type in order to respond properly to what i say

2018-06-05 15:26:11 UTC

I thought Obama was famous for his Exec Orders, cuz the reps fully blocked him 2nd term in congress

2018-06-05 15:27:03 UTC

my opinion is simply that i think some executive orders are abuse of power while others arnt and that system doesent seem very regulated

2018-06-05 15:27:16 UTC

cuz i remember there being an Exec Order to ignore immigration procedures for DACA people

2018-06-05 15:27:52 UTC

oh they are,
Exec orders are technically absolute authority

2018-06-05 15:28:00 UTC

well they are supposed to be a way for the president to fight back against the congress.

2018-06-05 15:28:08 UTC

and congress has a way to fight back against the,

2018-06-05 15:28:12 UTC

checks and balances

2018-06-05 15:28:21 UTC

i dont think executive orders should be used that way

2018-06-05 15:28:31 UTC

the way you fight against congress is veto

2018-06-05 15:28:47 UTC

that requires congress to pass something to start with

2018-06-05 15:28:54 UTC

executive orders if they are absolute power is just a system that is outside the normal governemnt

2018-06-05 15:28:56 UTC

you cannot veto a bill that never made it to the floor

2018-06-05 15:29:04 UTC

that is where exec orders come in

2018-06-05 15:29:22 UTC

i dont think thats how the power was intended

2018-06-05 15:29:23 UTC

to get past a party controlling the congress from keeping laws from even getting voted on

2018-06-05 15:29:26 UTC

Executive Orders are exactly for that reason

They're there so that a President can enforce his view
but can be instantly dismantled by the next president

2018-06-05 15:30:00 UTC

but the idea is that they aren't written out willey nillilly

2018-06-05 15:30:11 UTC

only for like very special situations

2018-06-05 15:30:22 UTC

whats the point of having a congress of 200 people if your just going to have a guy with no limit to how he can undermine it?

2018-06-05 15:30:30 UTC

there is a limit

2018-06-05 15:30:43 UTC

the Supreme Court overrides executive orders

2018-06-05 15:30:52 UTC

yeah, executive orders are not just law

2018-06-05 15:30:52 UTC

afaik

2018-06-05 15:31:05 UTC

you can basically ignore them if you really wanted to

2018-06-05 15:31:23 UTC

well look at that travel ban from those 7 muslim nations

2018-06-05 15:31:38 UTC

didn't like half of America ignore that? and its currently awaiting SCOTUS final call?

2018-06-05 15:31:54 UTC

"Like both legislative statutes and regulations promulgated by government agencies, executive orders are subject to judicial review and may be overturned if the orders lack support by statute or the Constitution."

2018-06-05 15:32:29 UTC

yeah so there cant be an Exec Order to kill all male gingers ๐Ÿ˜ฆ

2018-06-05 15:32:50 UTC

but there is already a genocide on the black gingers!

2018-06-05 15:32:51 UTC

yeah im not worried about that level of abuse

2018-06-05 15:32:59 UTC

i mean, where are the black gingers?!

2018-06-05 15:33:17 UTC

oh theres plenty

2018-06-05 15:33:23 UTC

just reorder the letters in ginger ๐Ÿ˜‰

2018-06-05 15:33:49 UTC

<:OMEGALUL:407048254447026176>

2018-06-05 15:33:49 UTC

my consern is the use of executive orders to basicly do the congress's job for them. which often ends up undermining state govenrments

2018-06-05 15:35:04 UTC

true, but afaik trump does the opposite in some cases, demanding congress fix it instead of just throwing an Exec order

2018-06-05 15:35:10 UTC

i think executive orders should be used in responce to problems that will have great consaquences if they arnt adressed quickly and no other branch of the governemnt is as fast as the executive

2018-06-05 15:35:27 UTC

i think that was their original purpose

2018-06-05 15:35:33 UTC

"While they do bypass the U.S. Congress and the standard legislative law making process, no part of an executive order may direct the agencies to conduct illegal or unconstitutional activities."

2018-06-05 15:35:47 UTC

to use it if something needs an instant fix, thats why the Exec orders can be rescinded very easily

2018-06-05 15:35:58 UTC

Honestly the first problem they did was make executive orders be something with an indefinite time period

2018-06-05 15:36:08 UTC

if you have to use executive orders in order to undermine congress then it should be obvious that is also what its being used for

2018-06-05 15:36:34 UTC

"The president can amend or retract his or her own executive at any time. The president may also issue an executive order superseding or nullifying executive orders issued by former presidents. New incoming presidents may choose to retain the executive orders issued by their predecessors, replace them with new ones of their own, or revoke the old ones completely. In extreme cases, Congress may pass a law that alters an executive order, and they can be declared unconstitutional and vacated by the Supreme Court."

2018-06-05 15:36:44 UTC

sometimes though it seems executive orders are being used to just do things that should be delt with by another part of the government

2018-06-05 15:37:10 UTC

like gay marrage

2018-06-05 15:37:12 UTC

more than sometimes imo ๐Ÿ˜ฆ

2018-06-05 15:37:17 UTC

more like "generally"

2018-06-05 15:38:20 UTC

executive orders are hilariously stupid in how powerful they seem to be

2018-06-05 15:38:26 UTC

well thats usually my complaint about the president having more power than i think they should
