They don't care about what they have to do, they want that clicks and ratings.

2018-10-27 16:52:57 UTC

My understanding is they are highly similar, but change where they draw divides between groups.

2018-10-27 16:53:10 UTC

i agree

2018-10-27 16:53:24 UTC

Socialism is class vs class, fascism is nation vs nation.

2018-10-27 16:53:27 UTC

Communism was all about communal ownership of capital. The core was economic and politics and the state were secondary. In fact the state was to become irrelevant.

2018-10-27 16:53:29 UTC

Your economy is a measure of power ultimately

2018-10-27 16:53:42 UTC

@Grenade123 actually i think national socialism is branded on the right, cuz they have a system of high state + a heirarchy of People -> Leaders -> Fuhrer

And both a large state + heirarchy are right-wing traits on the 1D spectrum

socialism and fascism are only seperated by one thing

2018-10-27 16:54:16 UTC

The goal of a socialist state is to consolidate economic power, potentially for the purpose of bringing about a communist state

2018-10-27 16:54:18 UTC

Socialism is about class, and Fascism is about race and class

2018-10-27 16:54:26 UTC

Yes

2018-10-27 16:54:37 UTC

How so, codes?

2018-10-27 16:54:37 UTC

actually, depends. IT was really hitler that cared about race

2018-10-27 16:54:38 UTC

There were also racial/ethnic elements in socialist States though

2018-10-27 16:54:46 UTC

Italian fascism was not about race as much

2018-10-27 16:54:52 UTC

then why does the current wave of socialists care so much about segregation?

2018-10-27 16:54:56 UTC

Where fascism and communism match is that the individual is irrelevant. the needs of the many outweigh the needs of the one.

2018-10-27 16:54:59 UTC

I was unaware of an intrinsic class divide in fascist theory.

2018-10-27 16:55:08 UTC

there isn't

2018-10-27 16:55:15 UTC

Becuase the current wave are fascists not soclialists

2018-10-27 16:55:28 UTC

True fascism is just having an "over-state" that can swoop in during times of crisis, and override any and all authority

2018-10-27 16:55:28 UTC

Classical liberalism, of which I am a proponent, believes that only by freeing the individual will society prosper

2018-10-27 16:55:40 UTC

i agree

2018-10-27 16:55:52 UTC

They also match in terms of a focus on economic control, and are ultimately necessarily imperialist as a result

2018-10-27 16:56:03 UTC

Because a command economy in isolation is going to get fucked

2018-10-27 16:56:05 UTC

Both fascism and communism subsume the individual

2018-10-27 16:56:16 UTC

Both also performed mass murder on the basis of ethnic background

2018-10-27 16:56:18 UTC

the goal of fascists is to have a self-sustaining economy, so you can isolate yourself if needed

2018-10-27 16:56:25 UTC

Liberalism frees the individual

2018-10-27 16:56:56 UTC

why

2018-10-27 16:56:57 UTC

Hence I am a liberalist in the mold of Winston Churchill

2018-10-27 16:56:59 UTC

The individual is a mechanism of the state. Completely ignoring that aspect of our identity is unhealthy.

2018-10-27 16:57:18 UTC

The state is a tool of the individual

2018-10-27 16:58:02 UTC

The goal of fascism is whatever the State wants. The State is *everything* in fascism. Which is why it is so easy for the one in power to abuse it because they become the State and hence absolutely powerful.

2018-10-27 16:58:08 UTC

In a free society, the state exists as a function of public need, not the other way around

2018-10-27 16:58:11 UTC

Hitler claimed to BE Germany

2018-10-27 16:58:31 UTC

Socialism lead to the same conclusion though

2018-10-27 16:58:40 UTC

An individual is not the public.

2018-10-27 16:58:41 UTC

And when he was about to die he wanted Germany to be utterly destroyed so that it would never recover
