then why does the current wave of socialists care so much about segregation?
Where fascism and communism match is that the individual is irrelevant. the needs of the many outweigh the needs of the one.
I was unaware of an intrinsic class divide in fascist theory.
there isn't
Becuase the current wave are fascists not soclialists
True fascism is just having an "over-state" that can swoop in during times of crisis, and override any and all authority
Classical liberalism, of which I am a proponent, believes that only by freeing the individual will society prosper
i agree
They also match in terms of a focus on economic control, and are ultimately necessarily imperialist as a result
Because a command economy in isolation is going to get fucked
Both fascism and communism subsume the individual
Both also performed mass murder on the basis of ethnic background
the goal of fascists is to have a self-sustaining economy, so you can isolate yourself if needed
Liberalism frees the individual
why
Hence I am a liberalist in the mold of Winston Churchill
The individual is a mechanism of the state. Completely ignoring that aspect of our identity is unhealthy.
The state is a tool of the individual
The goal of fascism is whatever the State wants. The State is *everything* in fascism. Which is why it is so easy for the one in power to abuse it because they become the State and hence absolutely powerful.
Hitler claimed to BE Germany
Socialism lead to the same conclusion though
An individual is not the public.
And when he was about to die he wanted Germany to be utterly destroyed so that it would never recover
If you disagreed with Stalin you got disappeared
The public is a number of individuals
whay
We see the same cult of personality happening in China now as Xi consolidates his power
The state exists to weigh the power of individuals against each bother, and the public against individuals. Avoid mob rule and negation of rights
As Xi "becomes" China, China completes their mutation from a possibly nascent Communist state to pure fascism.
China was never Communist, just Socialist
Mao did believe in Marx. He, like Stalin, thought extreme measures were justifiable.
China is where evil won permanently.
Right, and you can be a communist leader of a socialist country
Now China isn;t even pretending to be working toward the communist paradise
But China was not Marx' end state
They've embraced capitalism
Capitalism with 1984
It's an odd marriage.
Marx had no thought of China. Not in a million years. But Mao did give thought to Marx.
