@V.Balboa - PA that's awesome. Hopefully you'll can upload a few books hahah.
I'm restoring these this week.
These just need paint and they are ready to go. I'm not painting these. I have 10 sets.
Custom window frame.
@RevStench awesome man π
So many windows...
dam nice
Iβm still working on my chest... with the cold weather and my unheated garage itβs pretty much still at the same point it was when I last posted π
I got some hard wood flooring for 1$ a box from my work and I plan to just square it off and use the hard wood for some nightstands too but not until it heats up a bit.
Hahaha bundle up bro. You could use that flooring as verner. Stick it on with a pin nailer. Church some stuff up hahaha.
Anyone know what kind of nail this is? Can they still be bought? I found a couple lodged in the beams of a shed here.
I'm pretty sure those are shoeing nails. @Daniel Turch @wolfwood
Wow, I hadn't thought of that! I thought they were some sort of old square/cut nail
It looks like you are correct
A previous resident must have been a farrier.
Daniel is a farrier, that's why I tagged him hahah.
I know my nails haha. Cut nails have a blunt end and are thicker. That's cool though.
If only I had a horseshoe to hang up for luck
Does anyone know a good place to get 2x2 lumber that is furniture grade? I am making a dresser for my gf and for now my only idea is to take 2x4s and rip them down, but if possible to get really good lumber Iβd be willing to just buy it.
Itβs so cold in my garage that Iβm not trying to spend time out there ripping down 2x4s π
It looks like maybe Home Depot has square edge white wood 2x2s so nvm Iβll go check that out
I buy my exotic woods from a local company.
Can anyone recommend a door reinforcement kit, window bars, and/or alarms that engage when a door is being kicked in or a window is smashed?

Simply safe.
If you're renting make your landlord do it.
The best you can do for a door is one of those things that you prop under the knob to help hold it shut.
As far as bars for the windows I'd say those are probably custom made. I could be wrong though haha.
Thanks for the advice @RevStench . They're for my gf, who unfortunately needed them ASAP. The landlord is really slow getting back to her so she got some of those temporary window reinforcements and better locks. Hopefully those will work
You could go this route too, https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.com%2Fulk%2Fitm%2F182113888101
Or this

Is it a ground level window that you're worried about someone breaking in? They do make that film you can attach to the glass and makes it "shatter" resistant. But if you kick long enough I feel someone could get through.
I saw this, link, if it screws in I feel that would be perfect. Or something similar.

I recommended Simply Safe because it's a relatively cheap security system that is wireless. The advantage is someone can't cut your phone line outside of the house to disable the system.
I just saw you're in New York, good luck π
It is a ground level window, and thank you for all the information! She's actually in Philly (different schools) so it's far more dangerous for her. Yesterday, every car on the street had one smashed window. @RevStench
Dang, that sucks. Hopefully you can find something to secure that window. For better safety find something that screws in, you can patch the holes really easy.
