@Wood-Ape - OK/MN no big deal, kinda used to it from frequenting dive bars in my early 20s 💁

I'm not, like, totally heartless or anything. Like, I'm not gonna get mad if Ukrainian war orphans get temporary asylum. But I'm generally against permanent migration.

Even in the case of useful skilled workers, there's no need to let them stay permanently. Just give them work visas that last as long as they're useful. @Trashboat

Yeah, when I was 17, a Jewish photographer wanted to take pictures of me and set me up with his son. Kept asking my mom if I was allowed to date at 17. Like he wanted it arranged lolol

2018-11-11 00:28:18 UTC

uhhhhh you sure you weren't getting groomed?

2018-11-11 00:28:19 UTC

I can't btfo anyone's religion. Sincere believers wouldn't care anyway.

2018-11-11 00:28:28 UTC

@Logan they do check you've been baptized though at certain points

2018-11-11 00:28:43 UTC

Bro, all I am saying is that I can understand why the Euro immigrants came here in the 1800's.

2018-11-11 00:28:54 UTC

like you need to show a baptismal certificate and confirmation certificate to get married

2018-11-11 00:28:57 UTC

Maybe the churches I’ve gone to are lax af, no one’s ever checked on what I believe or if I’ve been baptized 🤔

2018-11-11 00:29:00 UTC

Thanks, Jacob, never thought of it that way.

2018-11-11 00:29:08 UTC

@Nerv - VA The delis are rad and very worth patronizing if you ever see one

2018-11-11 00:29:15 UTC

@ThisIsChris that is bigoted af

2018-11-11 00:29:29 UTC

how can they literally in current year so disheartened and shaking rn

2018-11-11 00:29:31 UTC

I mean, I understand, but I still disagree with it @Trashboat

2018-11-11 00:29:44 UTC

That is the case for a catholic church wedding is it not? @ThisIsChris

2018-11-11 00:29:45 UTC

My dad came here on bogus refugee status, so I feel the need to make up for it by fighting against it

2018-11-11 00:29:58 UTC

@Trashboat yes it is

2018-11-11 00:30:03 UTC

That is true justice, Jacob.

2018-11-11 00:30:05 UTC

Makes sense

2018-11-11 00:30:40 UTC

I also needed to post a public notice that I was getting married, so that if anyone knew that I had been married at another time or was ineligible for any other reason that they could inform the Church and stop the wedding.

2018-11-11 00:31:35 UTC

That's based imo

2018-11-11 00:31:37 UTC

@ThisIsChris pretty neat that churches still have some rights over who they allow to participate. Would be nice if we could get them back into politics.

2018-11-11 00:31:41 UTC

@ThisIsChris or run down the aisle yelling "I object!" when the priest asked for dissenters. Do they still do that?

2018-11-11 00:31:47 UTC

Didn't they used to do blood tests when people were getting married?

2018-11-11 00:32:02 UTC
2018-11-11 00:32:08 UTC

I have a hard time believing that @Selma

2018-11-11 00:32:15 UTC

My QUITE OLD mother tells me something like that.

2018-11-11 00:32:21 UTC

My parents did the marriage blood test

2018-11-11 00:32:30 UTC

Really?

2018-11-11 00:32:46 UTC

oh and my mom came here through chain migration

2018-11-11 00:32:49 UTC

Now you should definitely order a chromosome test *ba dum tsh*

2018-11-11 00:32:51 UTC

and I was an anchor baby

2018-11-11 00:33:02 UTC

wow what a mess

2018-11-11 00:33:06 UTC

What’s the blood test for?

2018-11-11 00:33:25 UTC

@missliterallywho you get to choose from a fixed set of formulas, that's one of the choices but we didn't choose that one

2018-11-11 00:33:46 UTC

Tldr an rH neg mother may not be able to bear multiple rH pos babies without rhogam drug

2018-11-11 00:34:16 UTC

Oh yea, I thought rH neg was super rare.

2018-11-11 00:34:25 UTC

You know how your black friend can give you an n-word card? I can give a an "anchor baby" card so you're allowed to say "anchor baby".
