Mad that we don’t have walkable towns anymore? Blame government road planning

2018-11-27 21:04:43 UTC

@Alexander Pechorinthat seems like a stretch.

2018-11-27 21:04:49 UTC

@Sam Southern - TN unless their siblings...
sharing is a case by case basis

2018-11-27 21:05:09 UTC

also, we share with those in need.
not with those that demand

2018-11-27 21:05:09 UTC

>sharing
(im an only child <:sad:366743316475281408>)

2018-11-27 21:05:11 UTC

I'm mad that any concrete extends beyond city limits

2018-11-27 21:05:20 UTC

I’m mad that concrete exists

2018-11-27 21:05:22 UTC

There's a pretty broad spectrum of possibility between pure capitalism and pure socialism.

Let's keep that in mind as this conversation progresses. I'm happy to let this debate continue so long as people remain respectful.

2018-11-27 21:05:23 UTC

You could blame horses for that if you really wanted, Alex

2018-11-27 21:05:49 UTC

@Asatru Artist - MD i was too... until i joined IE

2018-11-27 21:06:08 UTC

Im still an only child wtf

2018-11-27 21:06:10 UTC

true, I've bought gifts for every expecting family so far.

2018-11-27 21:06:13 UTC

@Alexander Pechorin Well, that's logical consistency. I admire that. I personally wouldn't want a system where a private company controls access to my house and we have private courts and stuff, but, who knows, maybe there's a way to make it work that I'm unaware of.

2018-11-27 21:06:28 UTC

2018-11-27 21:06:49 UTC

There’s a lot of interesting material on private courts from medieval Ireland and Iceland. Also renaissance Italian city states.

2018-11-27 21:06:53 UTC

I wonder what the only child ratio is here

2018-11-27 21:06:53 UTC

ty Matt!

2018-11-27 21:07:07 UTC

@Alexander Pechorin I'll look into it

2018-11-27 21:07:07 UTC

very cool!

2018-11-27 21:07:20 UTC

@Jacob high, would be my wager

2018-11-27 21:07:42 UTC

2 brothers here

2018-11-27 21:07:47 UTC

I have a younger sister

2018-11-27 21:07:48 UTC

@Alexander Pechorin speaking of courts... who wants to bring back *trial by combat*?

2018-11-27 21:08:11 UTC

dueling is an American pasttime

2018-11-27 21:08:18 UTC

Can we stop pretending everything in the past was good

2018-11-27 21:08:23 UTC

no

2018-11-27 21:08:40 UTC

everything past good everything now bad, grug knows this

2018-11-27 21:08:44 UTC

Childbirth in the past wasn't so good

2018-11-27 21:08:46 UTC

You know what was really based and redpilled, dying of rotten teeth at 30

2018-11-27 21:08:59 UTC

@Jacob IdBol hours whos up?

2018-11-27 21:09:01 UTC

"sir, you owe $500 in unpaid parking tickets" -court clerk
"COME AT ME WENCH!" -me

2018-11-27 21:09:27 UTC

There is no ethical consumption under late serfdom

2018-11-27 21:09:28 UTC

Romantacising the past is an American pastime.

2018-11-27 21:10:14 UTC

People romanticize the aesthetics of the past, not its actual actualization

2018-11-27 21:10:29 UTC

“I love the Victorian era!!” No, you like needlepoint.

2018-11-27 21:11:13 UTC

Exactly, every great period in western history starts with people taking rome and adding a modern spin on it change my view

2018-11-27 21:11:34 UTC

I like a lot of the social formalities and hierarchy of the Victorian era

2018-11-27 21:11:36 UTC

Also you're welcome barbarians

2018-11-27 21:11:46 UTC

There’s plenty wrong with the modern era, but there are things I’m glad we have now.

2018-11-27 21:11:51 UTC

porbably an unpopular opinion, but i'm in that camp that political and economic structures will always evolve to meet the requirement at the time.
unfortunately i don't see a perfect and ever-lasting solution
