@Scott McHarris where?

2020-12-11 20:20:57 UTC

@Zuluzeit not sure

2020-12-11 20:20:57 UTC

@TaLoN132 interesting. i get what you mean to exercise the system but then disable it when it is depolyed

2020-12-11 20:21:10 UTC

Discord is very much like Microsoft Teams in concept.

2020-12-11 20:21:17 UTC

what's possible and what happened are two different items ... fraud is possible but the point of election security measures is to prevent it from happening and catch it when it does ... role of courts is to adjudicate allegations of election fraud ... so far I've been impressed by how well each is doing their job

2020-12-11 20:21:33 UTC

> @Zuluzeit not sure
@Darkangael :(

2020-12-11 20:21:34 UTC

And Slack...

2020-12-11 20:21:51 UTC

@x96petersen1 don't give up just takes getting used to

2020-12-11 20:22:43 UTC

@meglide yes but remember that only a few months ago they were talking about having the most secure election system in history. clearly this is not the case if we are to believe some of the witness statements

2020-12-11 20:22:45 UTC

Do you think voter fraud experts would leave a trail?

2020-12-11 20:22:47 UTC

thank you for the encouragement @Darkangael and for the tips!!

2020-12-11 20:23:05 UTC

Thanks... I appreciate it.

2020-12-11 20:23:30 UTC

Never used slack. I've heard a lot of people sing its praises though.

2020-12-11 20:23:33 UTC

I'm not sure.

2020-12-11 20:23:43 UTC

and why should we believe them if the courts have yet to find them believable?

2020-12-11 20:25:23 UTC

@meglide they are making huge claims, the evidence they have is not proportional to the claims they are making and the relief they are seeking. it may take years to fully unravel the whole thing, if ever

2020-12-11 20:25:57 UTC

@Phil a few months ago Trump claimed the only way he could lose is thru election fraud and that he would sue if that happened ... not surprised in the number of legal cases ... it possible that we just had the most secure election in history and Trump lost ... absent of compelling evidence to the contrary why should we believe otherwise

2020-12-11 20:27:29 UTC

Is there any way to match a particular vote cast back to person who cast it?

2020-12-11 20:27:34 UTC

yeah exactly ... meanwhile the Trump team is raking in huge donations spending only a fraction of that on legal expenses ... believe the Supreme Court will pretty much put a stop to it by Mon

2020-12-11 20:28:19 UTC

@busillis no it's a secret ballot

2020-12-11 20:28:41 UTC

If the election was so close, I think it should only be required that fraud be looked into because these states where it was so close, fraud makes the difference. I'm not going to lie, what happened in Michigan seems very suspicious in Detroit. Mostly democrats working the polls. They were clearly pushing Republicans out. Why would a polling center do this if they were not trying to take control of the situation

2020-12-11 20:29:32 UTC

Treating the election as some revolutionary war. Literally fighting the opposition

2020-12-11 20:29:46 UTC

@meglide but there are clear areas where it is not secure. it is not secure in the sense that they didn't verify signatures or in some instances prevent poll-watchers. the voting lists themselves were not kept up-to-date and they were not cleaned properly of illegal aliens or people moving state. there were some counties that objected to certifying local results.

2020-12-11 20:30:08 UTC

It's crazy how much it just sold for... $27.7B... I mean, it's basically a pretty BBS. That may be the craziest software company acquisition in history.

2020-12-11 20:30:16 UTC

I believe all Ballots are Secret. Once Mail In Ballots are opened and remove them from the Envelope they are not Traceable to a Voter.

2020-12-11 20:30:35 UTC

@meglide none of these imply fraud, but to go forward these will have to be addressed for the future government to function

2020-12-11 20:31:03 UTC

@William Dinan if a system designer is the one gaming the system, it will be very unlikely that anything will be found.

2020-12-11 20:31:57 UTC

What happens to an election when there are revolutionary and civil wars being fought. We can claim that no such war has been declared, but there is clearly violence and constant protesting from each side.

2020-12-11 20:32:20 UTC

Criminals. Lock them up.

2020-12-11 20:32:21 UTC

@meglide also dont forget the democrats filed a series of lawsuits after the 2016 election alleging fraud, albeit not on the same scale as this one

2020-12-11 20:32:41 UTC

highly unlikely they won't be addressed ... Trump appointed someone to make sure the elections were secure and when Trump lost and the person he appointed confirmed that the elections were secure Trump fired that person

2020-12-11 20:32:51 UTC

The same is true of votes cast on the machines.

2020-12-11 20:32:53 UTC

Epstein case wasn't released then

2020-12-11 20:32:58 UTC

yep and Trump was still president these last four years

2020-12-11 20:33:21 UTC

Clinton's were clearly involved with him.

2020-12-11 20:33:37 UTC

Therefore fraud?

2020-12-11 20:33:47 UTC

@meglide biden may well be this time. but you cant govern a country if 20-40% people think it was not conducted fairly, especially because you only get one vote every few years

2020-12-11 20:34:08 UTC

I thought you said lock them up by Christmas, I thought Christmas was a nice touch.

2020-12-11 20:34:13 UTC

Absent a Paper Backup a recount is useless.

2020-12-11 20:34:33 UTC

That's one way of looking at it. The views of the poll and election workers may be different. Here are people who are trying to get their jobs done - likely in good faith - and they are being treated as suspects and assumed to be part of a conspiracy to steal an election because the President said as much. I don't doubt that tensions were high on both sides, but it's possible that they're actions may have been justified in trying to maintain a non-hostile workplace. I wasn't there - only those that were actually know. I do know this, if there was someone trying to keep me from doing my work, I would do something about it.

2020-12-11 20:34:59 UTC

What you are describing is birthers whom Trump was associated with 🤷
