The fact that every other party would rather compromise their principles for a grand coalition than let the "far right" have any influence will only strengthen the Sweden Democrats' claim that they're the only real opposition

@Chris N. - CA I remember walking into the scholarship office in high school and 95% of them where for diversity or volunteering instead of hard work and merit, that was around when my already strained patience began to fray

2019-01-18 20:18:38 UTC

I fondly remember when they were based on merit and I got two because I'm a smartypants.

2019-01-18 20:23:32 UTC

I graduated with a 4.3 GPA and only ended up getting $500 per semester in scholarship money for my current university. Couldn't end up going to an Ivy, either, since there was no way to pay for it despite my grades and other achievements.

2019-01-18 20:23:49 UTC

Feels bad, man.

2019-01-18 20:24:40 UTC

This type of stuff can really hurt sometimes. Fortunately, fellowships for grad school are a lot more merit-based.

The academic elite are an exception, but if you're a young white man, consider the trades

2019-01-18 20:24:59 UTC

Plumbing, electrical, elevator mechanic

2019-01-18 20:25:14 UTC

MRI techs make decent money.

2019-01-18 20:25:19 UTC

Lineman

2019-01-18 20:26:06 UTC

I make a wage above the median household income in this country without ANY debt

2019-01-18 20:26:41 UTC

My cousins do HVAC and they make great money, my buddy from college decided to become an Electrician. Did well.

2019-01-18 20:27:14 UTC

I'm sure HVAC does well in Florida where you're at too... gotta keep that AC going!

2019-01-18 20:27:26 UTC

Hell yeah

2019-01-18 20:28:18 UTC

I personally plan on becoming an investment banker. I've been into finance ever since I saw what the financial crisis did to my father. Figured I'd have to change things from the inside given that regulatory capture and corporate donations make government regulation of investment banks almost impossible.

2019-01-18 20:28:29 UTC

You are an exception

2019-01-18 20:28:37 UTC

Like I said, academic elite

2019-01-18 20:28:41 UTC

There's a reason Goldman Sachs is called Government Sachs

2019-01-18 20:28:46 UTC

lol

2019-01-18 20:28:52 UTC

"Imagine my shock"

2019-01-18 20:29:02 UTC

@Chris N. - CA holy shit did you actually graduate with a 4.3 GPA?

2019-01-18 20:29:09 UTC

probably 4.0 unweighted, but still

2019-01-18 20:29:09 UTC

Which one is easiest to learn? Danish, Norwegian, or Swedish?

2019-01-18 20:29:41 UTC

I've heard Norwegian is "close" (closer) to English.

2019-01-18 20:29:57 UTC

From high school, yeah. 4.0 unweighted. 4.3 weighted. Even studied economics at Harvard for a summer semester when I was 16.

2019-01-18 20:30:05 UTC

ok hot

2019-01-18 20:30:07 UTC

I regret going to university tbh

2019-01-18 20:30:21 UTC

I wish I just got some certifications

2019-01-18 20:30:43 UTC

@Chris N. - CA that's amazing

2019-01-18 20:30:56 UTC

But my dad made a lot of money, and I was a white male. Ended up getting offered a couple thousand in financial aid and around $15K/yr in scholarships, but Harvard is around $70K a year. No way I could pay.

2019-01-18 20:31:46 UTC

Still have my old Harvard ID and everything. I plan to apply for business school there and get a fellowship once I'm done with undergrad.

2019-01-18 20:31:46 UTC

I actually got accepted into UW through affirmative action

2019-01-18 20:31:53 UTC

Stay in school, guys. You don't want to end up shoveling coal in some frozen wasteland. 😉

2019-01-18 20:31:56 UTC

I transferred out after a year

2019-01-18 20:32:35 UTC

@Roland haha ya I'd rather not do that but I mean even for my field, there's better routes than university

2019-01-18 20:32:52 UTC

depending on what exactly you want to do, of course

2019-01-18 20:33:36 UTC

Yeah, that's true. If you can apprentice a trade, that's a great way to go.

2019-01-18 20:33:46 UTC

@Roland WHAT'S THAT SUPPOSED TO MEAN

2019-01-18 20:34:00 UTC

Down with the beourgoise

2019-01-18 20:34:28 UTC

We must secure the means of production and a future for white children

2019-01-18 20:34:45 UTC

We must secure the means of reproduction and raise white birth rates
